Wendigo
AW, special mention to @Rhamnus Wendigo isn't over the border but he's getting damn close
-24C/-12F Clear

It was late and Wendigo was hungry. Him and Rhamnus had not eaten since their events at the bluffs a few days before and the brother had set out in search of something for the pair of them. He had been perfectly content on finding prey like any lawful wolf would do but had quickly switched plans when he had come across the scent of a pack nearby. Why would he waste all of his energy hunting and taking down prey when it would be so easy to just steal them some and he would be back in half the time?

The dark yearling had waited until nightfall, staying far enough from the borders so as to not raise suspicion, nothing more than a loner passing through the area. Now he was confident he could pull off his stunt. Standing from where he had laid in wait Wendigo stretched lazily, his breath billowing in front of him in the cold. Orange eyes gleamed in the moonlight, it was showtime.

Throwing Leotie in here. She's not quite back to the border in case you would like for him to actually cross it. Guardian Dem 1/3

She was late getting back into Willow Ridge having spent the afternoon chasing a rabbit all over the Willows. With the trip coming up Leotie was working harder to get back into shape. Hunting was something she needed to get back in the practice of doing since she hadn't done much of it since the draw. It had taken her most of the day but her prize hung limply from her jaws as she approached the border. She couldn't help but be a little proud of herself for having caught something the first time she went out in so long.

Despite being a little sore from the exertion of the hunt she felt pretty good and that she would he ready for the trip when it was finally time. It was as she was about to cross the border something stopped her. A sound? A scent? She wasn't sure but it seemed off but without knowing exactly what it was she didn't alert the pack just yet. Her first thought was to rid herself of her prize which she quickly did before starting the journey back to the border.

Wendigo

Wendigo was creeping ever closer to the borders, his senses heightened as he prepared to break the wolves cardinal sin. He had no shame in walking past the borders of a pack he didn’t belong to. He had done it before and god damnit he would probably do it again. His home pack was the only one that demanded any respect from the yearling, along with any other pack of arctics but he knew from father none existed in these parts.

Just a couple more feet and Wendigo would be over the invisible line and he would just have to find the closest cache and then leave. Nobody would be any the wiser and from the smell of the borders the pack was small. Ready to take the leap and suddenly his nostrils flared in surprise. The smell of freshly spilled blood was much more enticing than any frozen cache.

Turning towards the smell Wendigo grinned, his belly would be full tonight.

Leotie Rhys
Guardian Dem 2/3

Leotie couldn't get the feeling that something was off at the border, she knew she had to go back and check it out. The thought that maybe her mind was playing tricks in her again did occur to her but she wouldn't be able to sleep until she knew for sure. Willow ridge was her home now and if there was something wrong she had to do something about it. So she'd taken her rabbit and left it in the cache before turning back to the border.

She ran through the forest her muscles burning after running all day to catch that rabbit but she pushed on. Until she was was close to the border where she had entered the territory and she stopped. Hers sitting high in her head listening as she turned her head slowly to look for any signs of trouble. Taking a few more steps she stopped abruptly as the scent of a rogue wafted toward her bringing a growl from her throat. “You need to leave now if you don't want any harm to come to you,” she stated clearly and confidently. As she took another few steps trying to figure out where the stranger was.

Rhamnus

Rhamnus was never far from her brother and while he had moved to cross the border she sat back knowing her pale coat would be a disadvantage (for now). They smelled similar enough that she could run interference if she had to and when a voice cut though the night that shielded her brother so much better than herself she stood up, her head dropping low and tail waving half tucked between her pale legs. "Oh dear, I'm so sorry! I'm very new to the area and didn't know how close I was until I just about stumbled clean over your borders." She moved closer so she would be in plain sight, a shy, apologetic smile on her face. "If you don't mind me asking... what's this place called?"

Wendigo

Wendigo had changed his course but was still heading towards the border when the sound of paw steps beating against the frozen earth cut across the night. Slowing his pace and diverting his trail farther from the sound he held back, cursing silently to himself. He crept parallel to the border now, not daring to cross it but continuing farther from where he had been. The look if displeasure disappeared when the sweet vocals of his thespian sister rang out, loud enough for him to hear even from this distance. He might not have been able to steal from them as was his original plan, but perhaps not all was lost. Abandoning the border when he was sure he was out of sight he turned tail and headed back towards where he had come, away from the pack. Rhamnus had this covered.

Sven Archer

the devil is & always will

Sven had scented something amiss, and that was enough to garner his intrigue and send him investigating. That Leotie was present in the middle of it only hurried him along all the more. When he approached the scene, he'd caught Leotie's warning and then the youth's excuse. Had she not flattened herself so thoroughly in submission, he would've likely charged her and chased her away from the territory without a word. As it was, he at least heard her out as he prowled closer.

The reasoning, however, was weak. Either she was lying, or she was an idiot. Both were likely to the man, as he already thought very little of her. His tail was raised along with his head and ears, steely eyes narrowed and glaring at her as he took his place at Leotie's side.

"You're not listening," he hissed. "She told you to leave."

Sven was looking to recruit, but already this one had proven herself unworthy in his eyes. He had no problems turning her away without letting the girl have a say, and certainly wasn't looking to be helpful in any way that did not immediately benefit the Ridge as well. She could take her small talk questions elsewhere.

Leotie Rhys
Guardian Dem 3/3

Leotie had to scoff at the girl, what did she think that the agouti woman was naive enough to believe her? She didn't care about the excuses given, the borders we're well marked and if she couldn't smell that this was pack lands. None of it mattered really, the girl was trespassing and that was all the agouti woman needed to know.

She smelled Sven as he came up beside her, she was thankful for his presence. Had she been in better condition she was sure she could defend the willows if necessary but now she wasn't so sure. Still this female didn't know what she had been through or how strong she actually was.

Leotie stood as tall as she could with her tail high over her back and with a growl she said, “Leave now or you will regret the day you stumbled across our borders.” And that would be her last warning.

Rhamnus

Well these were a prickly bunch weren't they? When it was obvious even from here a strong wind could wipe their pack off the face of the map. Rhamnus hadn't even set foot across their borders and doubted Wendy had the chance to either. Her eyes widened in feigned naive surprise as the pale boy snapped, "O-of course." She began to back away low to the ground, playing her role well. If they had no plans to be civil, well, she supposed they may have found a new target to bring the gods wrath down upon on, a plan already hatching in her mind, though you wouldn't know it for the strained smile that pulled at her lips, an I'm just trying to be polite but this is fucking awkward. She hadn't technically done anything wrong, sure she was on the fringes of claimed land but they didn't own anything past their own piss-reeking markers. Once there was enough distance between them she turned, picking her way back out into the wide expanse of the Rise. Her baby brother couldn't be too far away.
