(Lemme know if anything I wrote is confusing. Tulip has been trained in scavenging, spying, and thieving, but can be assumed rusty since it's been a bit since she trained with Grievous. She's no expert, but she's still good.)

You can hide, but how fast can you run?

The young wolf had left the bramble falls, while they were beautiful, they did not hold the wolves Eden had sent her to find. Neither did she find much to scavenge upon as hunger creeped in for the day. While spring and summer had provided her with plenty of grubs and berries and fawns, winter was cruel and even scavenging carcasses became more scarce. With the snow came a fight or die setting for that of a single lone wolf. With that in mind, Tulip had decided to track the scent of a wolf who carried the sent of others upon their pelt to the origin. She was hungry, and while she was sure stealing from the Lore wolves would be much different than the Lesser Packs, Tulip's determination was locked in place.

The tiny creature dug into the cold hard ground, mustering the strength she had left and doing her best to stain her white paw. With hesitation due to the idea of the cold snow melting on her, the girl began to wallow and roll, attempting to focus on her scarred up patch of white fur. Once satisfied she trotted off in search of the boarders. She was colder now, could feel her body shiver from her risky tactics. To one side she could clearly see a lake, but to the other a tall thick woodlands. She huffed in protest, half tempted to go about her normal scavenging. Still the girl entered and searched, and looked, and backtracked, and searched a bit more. Once she managed to get wind of a fresh track she followed it right to the filthy smelling boarders themselves. Well marked to tell intruders such as herself to scram, but that was not enough to discourage the girl. Tulip lowered her body to shove forcefully to the ground and roll before pushing herself into a nearby marked tree. She did this in hopes that not only would her natural scent be masked, but she would smell of the near by land and their borders. This had been a trick that worked well with sneaking into the Lesser Packs, but would it work here?

Tulip backtracked off of their boarders, headed in one direction away from them, the backtracked a few steps before going the other. She turned her path many times and back tracked all about. Finally feeling good with her work she entered the strange land, the moon her only friend. Her nose guided her. The small black beast knew to follow to the point where the scents grew strongest and most overwhelming, then she would be in the heart of the pack lands. A dangerous place in deed, but she wanted food did she not? She treaded lightly, effortlessly gliding across the territory with silent paws. Grievous had done well to teach the child silence, patience, and theft. Yet, she was an easily frightened thing, and her mind wondered to how many there would be causing her to stiffen slightly, to walk less quietly, and to have her nerves rubbed wrong.

Despite following the scent to the strongest point, the girl was meant with confusion...boulders? There...were boulders? Where were the pack dens? Tulip hid well amongst some trees to recollect herself and form a plan. Her dark fur blended in well with the foliage and late night. Her white fur was stained brown and even the pink on her nose had been covered up. The small girl's only give were her eyes, that was, unless you were a master tracker. The girl was good, and trained well, but she was no master and there were flaws in the way she infiltrated. Quietly she staid hidden amongst the foliage and peered out to the boulders, she could smell both the wolves and their catch, but dared not to simply follow her nose...she had to formulate a plan...

He supposed that on some occasions it was good that he wasn't able to sleep. While their numbers had grown it was the absence of his godson that had him more worried. Any searches that he'd done hadn't turned up any sign of the pup and that was even more worrisome. The dark alpha had to wonder how far Chan had actually gone to scout for the pack. Maybe Moonshadow was more than founded in her worries and they should send out a search party for the child.

It was late when he left his den to do a border patrol, perhaps Chan had slipped in under the cover of darkness and was safe in the den. It was of course hopeful thinking that had him searching for any scent that could be his godson’s. It wasn't the young Eastfalls scent that caught Kajika's attention though but another. It was rather strange and seemed masked but it led into the cove curious as to what it might be. His guess an intruder and one that thought masking their scent would work. He could decipher the small traces of wolf in the scent

Leaving his patrol he followed the trail through the trees of his home in search of the intruder. They had done well to cover their scent but he had been tracking for a long time so it was not hard to follow the path and as the communal den came into view he worried that this intruder was there to hurt the pack. A low growl vibrated the man's throat at the thought. It was in that moment that he was glad that Chan wasn't in the cove. If it was in fact the intruders intention to hurt one of his packmates they wouldn't be able to hurt Chan. Despite his tracking skills the scent he'd been following had gotten mingles with all of the other scents that surrounded the den. They were there he knew it the question was where?

“Come out now and I will consider letting you leave in one piece,” he called into the darkness.

You can hide, but how fast can you run?

Tulip shivered in the dark, the cold hurting her paw pads. Her somewhat wet coat from rolling in the snow dropping her body heat and she quickly found herself missing the familiar warmth of Maria and Koda. Eden...the Greater pack...had stripped her from them, yet they had freed her of Grevious. The emotions clouded the young girls judgment as she attempted to put such thoughts in the back of her mind and concentrate. Perhaps, if she could sneak around behind the boulders...then slowly edge about she would find something. *I should be able to see any other wolf before they see me, that way I can get a head start on running if need be...but if I'm sneaky enough...I could make out lucky...I just got to creep over-*{I} Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of approaching paws crunching the snow covered ground. The growl that followed caused the girl to sink lower to the ground between the barren trees, her belly flat with forest floor. Bright eyes closed, he breath steadied, and she begun to rely on her other senses. She knew well how much of a dead give away her cursed eyes could be, but then the thought occurred to her...the trees...they could only hide her so well against the snow. It could be only a matter of moments before her pelt was torn into two. She shuddered at the idea, half tempted to bolt, but too frightened to dare leave her hiding place.

{i}“Come out now and I will consider letting you leave in one piece,”

But she couldn't move, she was too scared. This was much different than back home, if she had even gotten caught there were always two other wolves for her to depended on. The would create diversions for one another, trick the pack, and make it out okay...but now...she was alone, cold, and hungry. His words only brought violent imagines of the past back, the cannibalism and cruelty she once knew. Except this time, she wouldn't be forced to feed on another wolf or die, she could be the dinner plate. Tulip begun to loose her calm demeanor to the anxiety and fear, her breathing picking up as her heart raced.

*What do I do? What do I do?* Her mind raced, her body trembled, and her bright yellow orbs opened wide to stare at the stranger.

Tulip could only imagine him turning his head to see her, there was no hiding now. She was too loud, too frightened, her lessons all but washed down the drain. Socializing had never been her strength, for she was to be quiet at all times unless told otherwise, but he had asked her to come out. Maybe, just maybe, that was her best bet...though her part of her told her to run for it, run to the boulders, grab something-anything- and leave. The yearling couldn't though. Her fear had become crippling and while she wanted to respond with hostility, she knew a loner was no match for a pack. So, regrettably, and very stiffly she moved forward, forcing her fear frozen body to crawl into the moonlight. She staid still and flat onto the ground, eyes peering up at the man while her body trembled. The thought of his teeth grazing her midnight fur flashing before her.

She could not sleep, and for good reason. Cold, whispering wind kept her awake no matter how often she tossed and turned for comfort and after a while the dark woman decided a short walk around the border could stimulate her brain to go to sleep. Her paws slid easily into the snow, no matter how wide she spread them, but she moved with renewed confidence knowing that the scent of a pack was on her pelt and the strong scent of their borders wafted in the wind. She figured that her walk would be a quiet one, simply because the mountain was rarely traveled but her age and experience kept her on edge just in case someone was brave enough to venture past the precautions they had in place. Beneath the disguise of darkness her eyes looked similar to lanterns, bouncing as she walked and when she caught whiff of something rather strange mingled in with the stench of her pack members, she knew that tonight wouldn't quite go as planned.

Her paws moved quickly, growing quiet the closer she moved to the foreign scent and when she saw Kajika in the distance with a stranger groveling at his feet she knew that her suspicions were correct; someone had been stupid enough to breech their border. She moved to his side in silence, looking the muddied wolf over before scoffing in disgust at her pitiful state--this woman was in dire need of their help. Compassion and sympathy were beyond her for this stranger but she did her best to keep her tone as neutral as possible, knowing that Kajika had the final word and would do as he pleased with this stranger even if she thought it best to kick her out on her butt. You pitiful thing," she voiced, her tail was held slightly high over her back but lower than her leader merely out of respect. "what should we do with her, surely her crossing our borders shouldn't go without punishment." she said to the dark male, throwing the idea out there in case he fancied the sport of chasing her out for fun.

He'd followed the trail, what there was of one, to the den's which was very unsettling for the alpha. Questions went through his mind about what they were doing? What didn't they want? He liked to think himself a fair man but this was the third intruder into their lands in the past couple months. This one by far had gotten the furthest into the territory and he had to wonder to what end. Where they looking for food or to harm one of his packmates? He didn't know but he meant to find out once he did find them.

Unfortunately, he lost the scent when it reached the den's die to there being so many other scents in the area. The Intruders had been so faint that it seemed to have gotten swallowed up by all the rest. It even made him question if they were still in the area or if they were somewhere else in the territory. He had not alerted the pack just yet, why wake them when he didn't know exactly the situation. Besides it would be easier to get answers of he didn't have the whole pack wanting to rip the intruder apart just for crossing the border. He wouldn't hesitate to do it himself if he felt that his pack was in danger however.

His gaze drifted across the moonlit area in search of any sign of the intruder, he even called out letting them know it was better they reveal themselves. This was their chance, they wouldn't get any others. They had been caught and he was giving them the chance to explain themselves and save their hide when he should punish them right there and then. He wasn't like that, like his parents. They had committed a crime against the pack but it was winter and food was becoming scarce so it was only natural that wolves would seek easy food sources like the cache of a pack. His gaze fell on the dark furred female when she finally did reveal herself. Her posture completely submissive which was a start for the yearling. Clearly she knew she had done something bad. “Stand up,” he ordered as it was clear she was rather afraid and he hoped that by having her stand it might make her more comfortable to give him the answers he sought. “Why have you trespassed on the cove’s lands?”

As he was speaking Bastet arrived at his side an insult and a question on her lips. A glance to his subordinate before his gaze returned to their late night guest. “I suppose that depends on the answers she gives.” The wrong ones and he might let Bastet have a go at her, the right ones and he could make the night go a whole lot better for the yearling. “I will hear her out though despite her blatant disrespect of our borders.”

You can hide, but how fast can you run?

The man had asked her to...stand? The girl had already invaded his lands and he wanted her standing before a leader?! Well, she assumed he was a leader. Tulip had always bowed in the presence of her King and only rose to enter and leave his presence for it was the law. Grievous had been more gracious in that way, she supposed, allowing the girl the right to stand. Perhaps this was no leader, but a co-leader. Such would make more sense to why he commanded her to stand. The girl stiffly rose to her paws, pushing her body off the snow laden ground to a half standing posture. Her body slanted backwards, ready to recoil should he come any closer to the girl. The man wanted an answer out of her...

The girl had not talked in so long she forgot the sound of her voice. Most of her encounters as a loner did not require words or often times she would simply refuse to speak. It was the voice of an illiterate wolf with hardly any speech skills. While Tulip had listened to many wolves speak all throughout her life, she struggled greatly with her own...She exhaled and cleared her throat...*squeak*. Out of all of the embarrassing things to happen, a squeak?

Another wolf approached with words that much resembled Grievous and his no mercy policy, yet, they still did not hold the same harshness. If she had been before the man himself blood would have already spilled. She looked between the two, holding back the twitch of her lips at the woman's words. The girl so greatly wanted to defend herself or run, but yet her paws felt frozen in place. Clearing her throat once more she replied, "Alone." Perhaps that would be enough for them to understand...

Tulip's heart continued to thud within her chest, her stomach churning. Alone was no answer...was it? How were they to understand? Tulip tried again, "No scavenge good meat. Frozen. Fail...th..th...fief." She tried to explain herself as clearly as possible while saying as few words as possible. Her voice was awful and the sound bothered her ears, it was not clear and crisp, she did not talk pretty like those before her. "Tulip leave? No come back, go to offer land." She asked for permission to go, but was already nervously stepping backwards at turtle pace.

Moonshadow Eastfall
I think I need help, cuz I'm drowning in myself

It seemed like the lack of sleep was finally catching up to the onyx woman for she had ventured into the den for a nap early evening and had slept until voiced reached her ears. Stirring only slightly at first more voices accompanied the first then an unknown scent floated in. Jolting awake to hear Kajikas voice say he'll hear her out despite her blatant disrespect of their border. Ebony hackles stood on end as a low growl left her throat. Not again.

Swiftly exiting the den, mercury pools fell on a small ebony figure slowly standing as she shook from fear. She stood in front of Moon between her, Kajika  and Bastet. The yarling began to answer her co-lead. All that came out was a squeak at first but then words. Short and broken, they came out almost forced. Moonshadow got the jist though, the girl was trying to steal food from them. Another low growl rumbled in her chest letting them all know she was there. If the girl turned to look she would see the dark woman standing tall, tail curled up over her back, ears pressed forwards, and steely eyes looking right at her. This, Tulip then asked if she could leave. Cool eyes looked to Kajika to see if he would offer this trespasser a place within their ranks too. Silver dusted tail flicked with irritaion as she waited for him.

It seemed that the dark male had other plans and Bastet stood waiting, growing rather impatient, as the male lead gave the night thief a moment to shine and explain herself. She could understand his reasoning, winter brought loners from out of hiding and in search of a pack and safety until Spring which could explain the increase of loners barging into their borders but that didn't explain the blatant rudeness and neither did it excuse it. This girl looked young, possibly a year old at best, and Bastet was no fool to assume that she had no idea what breaching their borders could mean for her especially if their pack had puppies to protect and precious mouths to feed but she knew that Kajika had grown up in a different environment of her own and his politics were different. She stood, idle and waiting, for the woman's pitiful excuse.

A slew of words spilled from the girl, some she had been able to understand while others had went over her head and out the window. She looked at her lead, wondering if he understood what Tulip was saying before something had caught her attention and almost immediately she flashed a row of white and sharp, teeth. The woman had been trying to steal from them, and had it not been for the night watchers she would have gotten away with it and the mouths of Fallen Tree Cove would have been without, that didn't sit well for her. "Thieves don't usually go around assuming that all will be forgiven if caught red handed...you're lucky to be standing right now." she threatened the female, her thick tail lashed behind her slowly with agitation. Where did this girl come from? It didn't take long for another dark wolf to enter the scene, this one another lead and female, and immediately she wondered what the female lead thought of all this. Did she think it wise to allow this woman to promise to leave the land without at least a lash of a warning to seal the deal?

He waited for the girl to stand up so that she could explain herself. He didn't feel like much would be accomplished with her cowering on the ground as she was. He had not quite decided what he wanted to do with her just yet but he knew he had two choices, punish her and send her running or offer her the same as Thuban. Chan would return, Kajika was sure of that even if he had nothing to tell him it was true. They would need to ensure he made it through the winter and now that Roland had joined their ranks they had another pup they needed to take care of. Whether they were his children or not he was responsible for making sure they had what they needed. This female could serve the pack for her act of intrusion.

The first thing to come out of the girls mouth was a squeak, a glance was given to Bastet before returning to their intruder. Finally she spoke some words and though they were just that words and not full sentences the alpha got the jist. He learned she was alone, good, that meant he didn't have to worry about others coming to finish what she started or coming to get payback in case he did decide punishment was the way he wanted to go. Moonshadow had also joined them and she wasn't happy at all about this which after what happened with Thuban he didn't expect her to be.

Bastet spoke her piece which Kajika didn't disagree with. His ears came forward as he noticed the girl moving away. “I didn't say you could leave just yet,” he told her with a flash of teeth as a warning. “My second has a very good point and one you should keep in mind. However,” his gaze went to Moonshadow then before returning to the yearling. “What you did was wrong, if you were hungry you should have called for us at the border and he may have been able to spare a meal. Now assuming my co-lead doesn't have a problem with it,” he said glancing to Moonshadow an apologetic look on his features, “I am willing to offer you a position in the pack for you to serve us for as long as you like,” he explained his gaze stern as he looked at the yearling. He then looked back to the oynx woman so that she could speak her piece.
