Hawthorne Selwyn
Open to one other~ || Morning, Light Snow, -13°F (-25°C)

Hawthorne had not been in the best of the moods the past few days. Her squintiness seemed to be at an all-time high. Perhaps it was the weather or maybe it was the fact she was rounding her teenage years. Or it was a terrible combo of both.

Either way she was quick to notice negative things.

For one, that new wolf who had been quick to defend herself was gone with the wind. Not a word. It left a sour taste in her mouth that caused an unintentional growl to escape the salt and pepper girl. Maybe they should have been a little more tough on her. She had use the reason of looking for someone to join the pack. It all seemed so wrong. Hawthorne may have still been a kid but she was willing to speak her mind if that girl ever came around again.

She huffed, shaking out her coat to release the snow that had gathered upon her. She needed to go do something productive to release her bottled frustation.

And then you get up and get up and get up again

Remi did not have it in her to pool hatred toward another gone member. It would be hypocritical at the very least. Maybe, she was getting older, but she just didn't feel like she could hate without good reason any more. Cotton had poofed, but she wasn't the least bit angry with him. No, it was worse than that. She was still worried. An emotion she didn't care for, and wished she could out pace. If only patrolling the Edge's borders would be enough.

Before she got started, she noted Hawthorne rising from her snowy sleep. The huff had a familiar ring to it. Oh gods. She'd probably huffed like that at that age. Why was Hawth waking up this way? Momentarily, she looked around if she might gander a clue. But, where was Sachiel? Strange enough she did not catch his brighter pelt. Not yet.

Knowing the soon to be yearling would probably not want to talk about it Remington stepped closer in the girl's direction.  Maybe, patrol could wait. "Hey, you game for a hunt?" She hollered, a friendly beat of her chrome tail.

Hawthorne Selwyn

Despite her sour mood, Remington was a welcomed voice. The two were by no means close but Hawthorne trusted her. She was one of the better adults. Loyal and all that good stuff.

Sure. She answered with a low sway of her tail. Even if Remi wasn't a leader, she was a high ranking wolf who had the respect of the younger Edge wolf. Got anything in mind? Which was the easy way of asking if Hawthorne had missed any herds passing through the forest. She tried to stay on top of those things but hunting had never exactly caught the girl's attention. She liked tussling on the borders along or with Sachiel. Maybe she should start focusing her energy on other roles as well. It wouldn't hurt to have multiple skills.

The young wolf obliged, though it seemed like she genuinely wanted to. Good. She didn't want to feel like she was dragging her along. That wasn't the best way to make friends. While a hunt required a lot of attention that didn't leave room for useless thoughts. She could get to know her a bit better without conversation that might be a bit forced. "The herds are still a bit of a mystery to me. Maybe another day we could plan some scouting to try to figure them out. I had in mind something different. I noticed quite a few chubby marmots on the hillside, ripe for the picking." Remi knew more about caribou now then she use to, but still didn't understand what their herd pattern could be in these parts. She preferred having a chance to kill something rather then meandering with possibly nothing to show for it. "We could make it a competition if you want? Unless you haven't had much chance at hunting duh things." Which she'd be happy to oblige some tips, and tried to convey it in her smirk.
