Risaela ???
For @Mako only please!

RE - Risaela, your personal cache has been frozen over.

Ris hated this season desperately. All the women smelled funky and were kind of moody and all the guys were territorial and everything seemed way too tense for her liking. So she kind of just hid most of the time, or hung out with Mako. But other than that... she existed.

And she was sad.

It wasn’t an obvious thing, most of the time. But the upcoming-yearling was, indeed, very sad. However, she was a master at repressing her emotions. At least... she was, until bullshit like this happened.

The girl had been returning to a rabbit she had caught for herself, that she was going to bring to Mako as a sort of lunch that she could share, but... she dug it out and it was completely and utterly frozen solid. And it was the last straw. Ris sniffled and hiccuped and pinned her ears back in sorrow, looking down at the frigid rabbit between her paws.

Mako Coho
Mako's heart caught in his throat at the sound of a slight, muffled, and yet unmistakable sound of a sob. Having a rather emotional sister pulled some sense of deja-vu within him, something in him yanking bittersweetly as he realized how long it had been since he'd seen her. He huffed, shaking his head. Marina was strong, she was just fine on her own, but someone else needed his help right now.

Mako ambled to Risaela's side, ears apologetically lowered with a softness to his expression that only showed with those he trusted enough to lower his guard around. He leaned slightly to look around her, though not really needing to given how much height he already had over his young friend. A frozen rabbit sat before her, obviously not a life-or-death situation, but he nudged his nose to her shoulder reassuringly. "Hey kid, what'ssa matter?" He asked, canting his head and smiling slightly.

Risaela ???
Ris jumped a bit when heavy pawsteps approached behind her, but she didn’t have to look up to know who it was. Mako was pretty much her best friend ever, and she knew his pawsteps really well by that point. She sniffled and hiccuped and wiped at her muzzle with one paw.

”I-I was gonna sh-share this wi-with you,” she tried to say clearly, but it wasn’t as crisp as she would have hoped. Her ears pressed back to her skull and whined in frustration. ”It fr-fr-froze, and it’s r-ruined!” That one came out as more of a wail, kicking the rabbit off to the side. She was so upset over something so stupid, and she was aware of that fact.

So much for not being a kid...

He’d probably never see her as an adult now.

Mako Coho
Mako's amber eyes drifted from Rissy to the furry mound that lay at her paws. It was harder to smell with how frozen it was, but the rigid body of the rabbit was unmistakable. That was sweet of her, and it really was the thought that counted in this case even if it was frozen solid. The boy stood for a moment, thinking.

"I mean," Mako said as he walked around her, stopping to stand in front of the frozen rabbit she'd kicked away, "I wouldn't say its ruined." At least, it would take a lot more than some frostbite for his mother to have deemed something inedible. Mako was a little more discerning in his tastes, but this meal looked far from ruined. He looked from the rabbit to her, a hesitant smile resting at the corners of his lips. "It'll just take a little more work to eat," He added a grin, just as hesitant as the smile that came before it.

Risaela ???
Oh... he wasn’t upset about it?

In fact, Mako seemed like he appreciated her effort, and that alone quieted down Risaela’s horribly strong negative emotions. Mako really was an awesome best friend. She had picked a good one.

And now that he mentioned it, the rabbit didn’t look as bad as she had originally thought it did. Maybe she just needed perspective.

A soft hiccup punctuated the end of her emotional outburst and she sniffled, wiping a paw across her muzzle in an attempt to dry it. ”Y-yeah,” the young wolf began, silver eyes flicking up toward Mako’s amber with a small smile. ”You’re r-right. It’s not s-so bad.” Just a little tougher than it would have been otherwise.

”D-do you wanna sh-share it with me?” she asked, moving to press her nose into his shoulder as a sort of apology for being so hypersensitive.
