(Quick post for @Skylark before work)

Dull, expressionless, eyes peered about the creek as it came into sight. Her steps were slow and carefully taken, the woman not quite fond of the idea to come here now. A heaviness settled down upon her shoulders, so heavy it felt she would be forced to grovel beneath it. Briefly she thought of Zonta, almost pictured the creature, then reminded herself she was not real. Just a sickening trick of her ill mind.

Slowly she approached, footfalls much heavier than normal. She could see them now, two young pups meeting for the first time. Her and Titan, oh her and Titan. She missed her old companion, her first love, gravely. She could imagine their sinning, the conception of their son near the beaver dam. The heat of him next to her. The last time she had spent time with him...save for one time he briefly showed up to see Daniel. Where had he gone? The world was all too cruel for her to bear in moments like these. The suffocating nostalgia drowning the woman in waves of emotions. She felt lost at sea, struggling to pull herself ashore. With a gasp the woman forced herself to come back to reality, her breathing heavy. If she was going to do this, she needed to get it over with and find that den. Make the visit brief...she couldn't torture herself so.

Finally she met the water, pink tongue slipping out to lap at the frozen over surface. The older wolf felt too weak at the time to busy herself with breaking the ice, their was no point in straining her bum leg. Food was of more importance though, and the sight of a fish swimming beneath the surface tempted the woman...

Skylark
The small wolf hummed happily to herself as she walked along the snow dusted path, her hazel brown eyes shining, her head bobbing with every step, tail wagging without a care in the world. Which was odd when you considered her disheveled , twig entangled appearance, quite bluntly, Skylark looked like she just rolled down a ridge and took the time and effort to hit every tree and bush on the way down. If you asked her, she’d never admit that she had indeed fallen down a ridge though.

Skylark licked her lips as she paused, falling down a hill and screaming your lungs out in fear or joy, she wasn't quite sure which it had been, had left her mouth partially dry, a feeling she didn’t like. She hated the feeling, itn reminded her far too often of the dirt she had licked when she had been younger, leaving a gritty taste in her mouth for days after. It seemed however that luck was on ehre side for once. She caught sight of a stream just through the bushes. She pressed through them, and then caught sight of a larger wolf with their head dipped down over the water.

With her typical level of subtly and situational awareness, Skylark did what she was best at, her mouth opened, and she bellowed loudly. At the top of her lungs “Hey! Pretty day isn’t it!?

The woman tensed at the sudden unexpected words, but that was the extent to her reaction. An ear flicked, then swiveled, her face following purist in fluid motion. She eyed the girl for a moment then faked a lovely smile. Hopefully her scars would not frighten the girl off, You should see the Heartleaf in summer and fall. The leaves are truly unlike others. The whole creek is rather beautiful. Could you help me break this ice miss? I could teach you to fish in return."

Danica played the act of nice for now, but she had plans and intent. If she could gain this girl's trust...The woman had use the youngin. The womans belly grumped as emerald orbs eyed the girl in anticipation.

The nieve yearling only saw the smile, and then the scars, she whistled quietly when she got a good look. She bobbed her head quickly, a broad grin forming on her muzzle when the woman returned her friendly greeting with an offer to hunt. Skyla tilted her head slightly, thinking it over for a whopping five seconds before bobbing her head quickly.

She kicked up a patch of snow as she scampered across the short distance between the two. “I’d love to!” she chirped, looking toward the icy shell, she got an idea, looking back t the older female. “I’m guessing we don’t use our heads? Looks like you already tried that!” she said, pointing out, rather tactlessly, the scars across the female’s muzzle.

A growl nearly ripped forth from the woman, but she bit her tongue and scowled. "Little rude, don't you think?" She said bluntly, then sighed, "No this ol' thing is from a crazy raccoon that thought it could get the best of me. Stupid little creature tell ya what." Danica said, her voice leveling out back to normal as she forced herself calm. The wolf was just a yearling after all, and seemed alone. Any easy target to manipulate into her own bidding. Yes, the white beast could definitely use this wolf.

"The best way to do it, now you have to be careful about your teeth-" Dani opened her mouth wide to show a broken tooth towards the back-"- is to get a large rock and drop it onto the ice until it breaks. Another way is slamming down on the ice but that can cause sprains." The woman explained, now sitting up and moving her head and a front paw to help describe the actions as she talked. The woman even got up, found a smaller rock, and dropped it down to give an example. "You're going to want a bigger rock than that, and to use more force. Have you ever fished before?" A strange glint of excitement shone in the woman's eyes, her tail slowly wagging.
