@Rory || Early Evening, Cloudy, 21°F (-6°C)

He kicked at some loose snow, unsure what he was doing hanging around like a bad smell. He didn't want to give anyone the wrong idea. The large male was not here to cause any trouble or - mentioning the season it was - steal women. Well...that was sort of a lie, wasn't it? He didn't plan on stealing GLC, not in the traditional sense. Maybe he wanted to steal a bit of her attention but that was it really.

This was foolish of him. He'd probably be seen as half-mad by the smaller female whenever he found her again. Deacon contemplated heading back west. If he ran into her there then he'd know how things went at the Surge.

A huff escaped him as he turned around. It was with overly slow, well-calculated steps that the dark male began to move away from the lake.

There weren't many days that Rory didn't feel like herself. In fact she worked rather hard to maintain her composure and never dip back into the depressive state she'd worked so hard to build herself out of but something was tugging at her insides, and hard. She had joined the Surge with two intentions--to be closer to Aytigin and make Lachesis happy. So far, she'd done a wonderful job at keeping the lead male happy, even if sometimes it still didn't show (she assumed his pack duties were wearing on him) but she knew that it gave him some sort of joy knowing that she could keep her promises. Rory was very big on that, promises were meant to be kept and that was what she did even if sometimes it took her a little longer than she'd anticipated. When it came to Aytigin she felt a sense of abandonment, shame and concern.

She hadn't seen much of the male since joining and though his scent was strong she figured he was much too preoccupied with pack duties to seek her out which had always been the case. She wouldn't pester him, instead she'd steal away on those lonesome days and attempt to calm her mind even if deep down her heart was shattering into a million pieces. Today she sought solitude near the lake, not knowing that another had beat her to it but he seemed fit to leave, a part of her was happy that she would be alone with her thoughts but the other half of her, the lonely half, desired some kind of attention. "Hey, wait...don't leave." she called to him, surprised that she'd been so bold to stop this stranger.

sorry for the wait, @Rory

His ears seemed to make a swift sweeping motion as he tossed his head over his shoulder. There was a mostly pale female and he had to fight back the frown at realizing they were too pale to be GLC. Another sharp wave of disappointment washed over him in that moment. The large wolf bit his tongue for a moment before daring to speak out loud to the stranger who had called out to him.

"Why?" The dark male's words were more sincere than his usual sharpness. Why didn't she want him to leave? He had no business here and it wasn't like she was a known face. Yet he stayed where he was, not daring to move away from his spot a few yards out from her.

Her voice seemed so small, a replicate of what she felt in that very moment, so when Deacon turned to respond she felt herself attempting to seem even the more smaller in hopes that he wouldn't take offense to her bold request. She was used to talking to strangers, usually she enjoyed their company and the stories they would inevitably share, but something about this male was different and though she couldn't quite place her paw on it she had a feeling this meeting would be one for the books. "I don't know, I just would like your company." she admitted, and out of nervousness she began to bite on her lips, "I'm Rory, who are you?" she asked, her head cocking to the side in jest. She could only hope this dark male was as interested in small talk as she was.
