Mathéo Tainn
@Mako -- Sorry that I am the worst omg.  Feel free to tag/poke me if I take that long again...

Mathéo's muzzle twitched, his ears cupped as he listened to the older wolf give a brief explanation of the process.  He knew -- in theory, anyways -- that these things were likely more difficult to actually explain than to demonstrate (or do, though the boy rarely had much faith in his own such abilities), but he listened closely anyways.  Following Mako's gaze to the shallower end, he gave a small nod.  It seemed simple enough.  He wasn't being asked to swim, and while he could 'not drown', he wouldn't exactly call his flailing wildly 'swimming', either.

So he moved without argument, picking carefully over the rocks.  Slipping in would hurt...and ruin the hunt before it actually started.  He stepped into the water gingerly.  The connection was shallow, only above his ankles, and the ripples he caused didn't fan out too far.  With a sharp breath, he nodded again.  "I'm ready!"

He wasn't, really, but it was as close as he'd get.  He could do this.  Probably.

Mako Coho
@Matheo

Mako waited patiently as Matheo moved himself into position. Though the younger wolf looked hesitant, he followed Mako's admittedly sparse instructions to a T, allowing Mako to focus on getting himself into place. When he did this sort of thing with family, they moved as one, the motions practiced between them all and second nature. No different than any other kind of hunting, really, but Mako had to remind himself that Matheo was both young and had never fished before. Rather than diving straight in without warning like he would have done were it his sister Marina standing on the other side of the pool, Mako looked up at the boy and gave a sharp nod that he was ready to roll.

With a deep breath to fill his lungs with air, Mako dove into the pool, hefty body sliding into the water with surprising ease. Eyes open and stinging against the cold water, his blurry, watery vision locked onto the silvery flicker at the bottom as he propelled himself downward with webbed paws. With a flash of shimmering scales, the fish were darting away from him as expected. The shark surged forward, paws pushing against the silty bottom as his pearly teeth reached out for one of the fish.

Mako could immediatly tell it wasn't a great grab. Just his canines were sunk into the tapered end of the fish's tail, and as he shoved himself off of the bottom of the pool and breached the surface, the slippery prey started to fight in earnest. Where the second fish had gone off to, Mako couldn't tell, but hoped Matheo was handling things better than he was. The fish flailed violently back and forth in Mako's grasp with his head just above the water, smacking Mako in the face with a noise that would have been comical if not for how much the slap to the face stung.
