It was getting too close, her nerves were frazzled from worrying about all the things that could go wrong. Especially after the coyotes had gone after Ravenna and her friend. With her sides growing larger each day it seemed she now spent more time in the den that she had meticulously put together for her first litter where she felt safe and comfortable. That was a hard thing to come by these days, comfort. Finding the right position was often frustrating.
As much as she rather be in her den there were still things that she had to leave for. Water, food, and to relieve herself and this trip was for water. She thought she would make her way down to her favorite place under the Willow. There she could get a drink and enjoy the fresh spring air. That though was shoved out if her head by the Immediate danger she soon found herself in. A yelp of surprise left her of its own accord as she found a northern water snake in her path. Right away she halted her movements unsure what she should do since she was in no condition to take it on.
