All welcome but please keep in mind Piety is inside her den and unlikely to let anyone in. || Sunrise, Light Rain 59.82 ° F, 15.45 ° C

She didn't know what had happened. She thought things were getting better in the Tarn, thought things were great between them. Had she missed something? Oh, but she couldn't leave to look. There was a small new son at her side who seemed to cry whenever she was too far. It was the cries that always sent her retreating back to the den earlier than expected. Granted she didn't have the heart to ever wander very far from her den site.

She was consumed by her thoughts as the soft patter of rain served as background noise, the chubby bundle of fur squirming at her side to summon her attention. The mother lifted her head from the den floor so that she could run her nose over his small form briefly before she returned to a lazy lounge. It would be obvious to anyone who stopped by that she was not in her usual mood. Perhaps lethargic would be the best word to describe her.

Beep

Daesamar sighed quietly as he stepped through the drizzle, obvious to the rain splashing against his fur as he felt a numbness growing inside. The Tarn had become his home, he had met some great wolves here and yet...they seemed to be vanishing one by one. First, his silent friend Pebble has vanished for a couple of days, but she had returned. @Kip left, the yearling wasn’t sure how to feel about that. He had picked up on some tension between some of the members but tried to stay out of it, but her departure had hurt him a  bit. She had always been kind to him.

Now, Now it seemed that Lorcan had vanished, it made no sense. Daesamar could see the man’s dedication to the pack, he still felt a bit guilty when he had found out just how far the alpha had traveled to get him herbs when he had come down with a rather violent flu. It’s why he was out here now. @Pirty had given birth, and the yearling had no clue what she was going through with her mate’s disappearance, but he wanted her to know that he was there for her, willing to do whatever he could. Nieve as he was, the boy wished he could just take the pain away, she didn’t deserve it, none of them did.

coming closer, he picked up her scent on the breeze and paused, he craned his neck, trying to keep the vole that he had caught safe and dry before approaching the den’s edge. He sat it down on a rock before stopping outside the den’s entrance. “Ma'am?” he said hesitantly, shallowing   “I got ya something to eat Piety, that is if your hungry..” He wasn't sure if she would be, but he knew she needed to eat as well.

She almost thought it was her older son but there were too many words - the wrong words-  and no bright yellow eyes peering into the den. Her head lifted as her lip gave a hesitant twitch. No. The word came out rougher than anticipated both in sharpness and her general voice. She supposed that under the silent care of Cyril, she hadn't needed to talk too much.

Sorry. The leader tagged on softer. I'm fine but...thank you. She meant it. Her form curling tightly around the son at her side.

Her muddy brown eyes peered out at the dark form of Daesamar. What have you been doing? Had her subordinates been keeping themselves busy? Did they know anything that she didn't?

There are only two ways to live your life: as though nothing is a miracle, or as though everything is a miracle.

OOC here!

No

The response came quick and rather harshly, he grinned a bit, before shrugging it off, with everything she was going through, Daes wasn't about to hold a snippy comment against her. Besides, an apology quickly followed, he saw no need to have a grudge about it. Long ago, he had learned that it was toxic, all it did was poison you.

“Not much lately.” he said while giving a small shrug and pausing, he turned his head giving it a good shake to try and knock the growing rain out of his eyes. Turning back around, he grinned “I wonder if this is how a tree feels though.” he said, looking into the den, smiling {b} “Is your son alright? Cheedo taught me about scavenging, it’s useful this time of year.” he said before nudging the vole forward with his nose and settling down {b} “But only the freshest for you.” he added before twisting his muzzle up into a lopsided grin.
