Nineva Hervok
backdated to 8/5. judas & ramiel are present with nineva; ramiel is standing far back from nin & jude & the border, but still within sight & earshot.

The journey had taken a bit longer than Nineva would have liked, but she wasn't cruel, and so they had taken a few more rests than normally would be needed for Judas to maintain his strength. Coyotes were still an issue as well, one of the reasons Ramiel had been brought with them, but the three of them were an intimidating enough force, even if the small doe they dragged with them seemed opportune. It was Judas alone who tugged it along, just a part of his punishment for acting so brashly. His own wound had been tended to, and betwixt her teeth Nineva carried a loose bundle of herbs and paste-slathered leaves. Both would be gifts of apology for what had been done.

Hopefully, they would be received well, but she would take not having to call on her young consul for the second possibility he'd been asked to guard against; an outright attack from the Edge wolves.

In a way, she would understand it, as she herself adhered to an eye-for-an-eye sense of morality. However, if Judas' rough description held true, the two involved in the tussle were already even; he'd been wounded as well. They were here to make up for it being started at all.

Reaching a courteous distance from where the scent marker's of the pack grew heavy, Nineva stopped. Her mismatched gaze gave Ramiel a meaningful look, signaling what they had spoken about prior: that he would stand back, within sight but at a distance. He was here as a precaution only, as it was hers and Judas' responsibility to make amends. However she would not attempt to hide him, nor give the impression that she was attempting to come in force.

Head tilting back, she called for the leadership of the Edge.

Ramiel traveled on Nineva's flank as they made their way to Shallows edge, the pack his brother had decided to wrong by fighting one of their members. For the time being until he knew where he stood on the matter the yearling chose to stay neutral. As much as his brother seemed to hate the idea of what they were doing Ramiel could see his queens logic in it and he easily followed her example.

The young Archer glanced sideways out of his eye at his brother who had been tasked with dragging the doe. He did find some humor in his brothers situation. What Ramiel wasn't pleased about was the fact that the journey had taken longer than expected, yes been hoping to get it over and done with.

A lick was given to Nineva's chin at the look she gave him when they finally reached their destination. He knew where he needed to be having gotten his orders earlier and ince his respects were paid to the ghost woman he moved off to the distance they'd agreed upon. Not too close he would seem a threat but not too far he couldn't act if something were to go wrong. He stopped in the way, “Be on your best behavior brother,” Ramiel warned before closing the distance to the tree he'd chosen. Once there he settled back on his haunches and waited

by the light of the moon, we run

The trek from the Vigil Keep's territory on the northern reaches of the lake, all the way down south into the red fern forestry where the Shallows wolves lived, was a long and tiring one. Two days of hailing a doe and by now the muscles in his neck and around his shoulders and front legs ached. It made him only realize more the distance between the two packs and how any Shallows wolf needing to come all the way to where they hunted was a load of crap, especially with winter so far away and food still plentiful. The thought frustrated him but he kept his mouth shut because the distance he, his Lead and his brother had traveled was certainly something they had taken into consideration too.

Finally at the borders, his nose wrinkling to the familiar scent of that female, he dropped the kill with a heavy thud to the earth. Nineva called for them and his brother dismissed himself to stand back. Judas grumbled to his words, offering a silent snarl and a sharp glance. There was a good chance he found all of this quite comical but Judas otherwise couldn't blame him either.

Judas held back the 'shut up' he was ready to give his brother, deciding instead to put his game face on. Licking the blood on his maw, his head lowered, tail flat behind him and he waited to see how this would all unfold.

Reyes

Turn your back for just one moment, and everything seemed to just go to hell in a hand basket. Reyes had no more than welcomed a new wolf than did she return to the borders bruised. Battered. He hadn’t seen the event (obviously, or it wouldn’t have gotten that far), but had been made aware. One of those things with being a leader. There were days he wished he wasn’t.

The dark male wasn’t yet sure if this was to be one of those days. He’d shared a hunt with his mate earlier in the day, and then gone to groom himself in the watery shallows. Whether or not @Askan had gone to take that nap, he wasn’t sure, but expected his co-alpha to appear within a moment or two. Ears framed his skull, his tail high above his dark frame – he didn’t know the individuals, but he could two and two together and get four. This was likely not just some social call.

His brows raised as he looked from the distant wolf, to his injured look alike, to the oldest of the trio. He had to assume between age and posture, she was the leader of this merry band, if not the group’s matriarch.

“Speak.”

I don't care if heaven won't take me back

Askan had yet to meet the Queen of Vigils Keep, but as things stood he was thoroughly unimpressed. After informing Reyes of the attack, the Selwyn had intended to stomp off north to give the wolves of Vigils Keep a piece or two of his mind, but apparently his preparations were in vain. Shallows Edge had visitors.

Askan had never been overly swift on his paws. He was fast when things were up close and personal, but he was hardly the sort who could effortlessly weave through the forest like a spring hare. As such-much to Askan's frustration- he was the last to arrive on the scene. He slowed to a trot and pulled up beside his mate as a look of obvious contempt settled on his features. His tail arched high as planted himself on the spot, the second half of a beefy whole.

So this was the famed Queen of Vigils Keep? Askan sneered. He saw nothing but a woman trying so hard to pretend to be something she just wasn't, all grand and regal like her presence meant something around these parts. Like the wolves of Shallows Edge were meant to be honoured, as if it wasn't her responsibility to clean up the mess her subordinates had made.

His searing gaze moved away from the grey woman to the silver eyed males by her sides. His jaw ticked as he stared them down. It was laughable that she thought that a bit of extra muscle would be enough of a deterrent. As if the wolves of Shallows Edge could be threatened by a pair of yearlings.

Or bribed, as Askan could only assume they'd brought along goodies to try and smooth things over. Was it too late for that? Askan wasn't sure. What he did know, however, was that neutral ground was practically nonexistent these days. That it was all or nothing.

"Which one?" Was all Askan asked-no, demanded.

Nineva Hervok

They were quickly met by two men, one far more volatile in appearance than the other. It was he who immediately asked for the culprit among them, and Nineva had to keep herself from stepping in front of Judas. She had a sense the man wanted to strike, in which case things would go to hell with absolutely no chance at resolution; she would not allow her subordinate to be battered, especially when that portion of his debt had already been paid. Nineva would give this a chance, however, as they had come here for contrition, not to puff up their chests and egg on the tension.

Ears already flattened and nose lower than she was used to holding it, Nineva gave her tail a bit of a curl as well for good measure. She didn't appear simpering, but was clearly respectful of being on the Edge's threshold.

"Judas, here, is the one who instigated the fight with your subordinate," she spoke without gesturing, here being pointed enough given that Ramiel was just visible at the distance he'd placed himself from them all.

"From what I've been told, they matched blood, but clearly it shouldn't have happened at all. My wolves will not let words turn to violence, and the pack is more than aware that if any of them dare to do so again, I'll be the one to take my teeth to them and chase them from the East."

Something all of them should have already known, but here they were anyways.

"As I apparently hadn't made myself clear before, Judas is being given a chance to make amends. If you would allow it, I want him to pull the heavy lifting of seeing her back to health. Food, medical supplies; we'll work to make sure you have all you could need."

It was a lot to get out at first, but she wanted it to be said swiftly that they were here to tangibly do something about the wrong that had been done, before this other man thought to attack.

"Is she healing well?"

Judas didn't snarled at the words he'd spoken, Ramiel couldn't help but chuckle. His brother had gotten himself into quite the mess. The yearling kept moving to a distance that was sufficiently far enough away he hopefully wouldn't be perceived a threat but close enough he could hear the goings on. He sat down next to a tree to wait for the arrival of the wolves of Shallows edge.

He felt the wait was much too long and the way they spoke to Nin was unacceptable. He however knew better than to show anything but a neutral demeanor. His ears perked forward allowing him to hear more as the queen spoke of the reason they were there. Silver eyes drifted to his brother wondering what might he going through his head in that moment. Being forced to do something he was sure Judas detested.

All seemed well for the time being so he remained relaxed though ready to defend Nin if it came to it. For the first time he hoped things went off without a hitch, the last thing they needed was an enemy if the edge wolves.

by the light of the moon, we run

Judas was unaware of the dynamics of Shallow's Edge. He had been born into a pack lead by the females, his mothers and then knew his aunt and older brother to rule Willow Ridge. Now he was in the Keep where Nineva was the sole riling leader to which he felt most comfortable, under a woman's rule. He didn't know the Edge wolves were lead by two men, a mated pair, so when the first arrived demanding his queen to speak he could only assume him to be the leading male. Then another arrived on scene, asking which one after a sneer was scent to Nineva's direction. Well they were a horribly rude group. But could be blame them after what Judas had done?

Judas never did well with demands like this, especially from a man, especially even still not one of his pack. It took so very much for Judas not to say something, for Judas not to sneer right back, then his body shook next to his lead and he leaned close, as though perhaps her touch alone would be enough to stop him. Easily, his quivering could have been mistaken for fear and given the situation that would have been for the best. At least for Nineva's sake. Personally Judas at this point would have rather stood forward, fight it out and take the beating for what he had done then to grovel and beg for forgiveness. Yes, he was much more the backyard rumble, fight it out and get the hell over it kind of guy.

His greyscale queen began to speak then, pointing it out that it was he whom started the fight, that they had both been injured in it and that the yearling and everyone else in the keep was taught the lesson that words shouldn't turn to violence again and if they did, they would be kicked out. So, basically, don't take the first shot? Got it. While his ears remained back and head lowered between his forelegs, those dark grey eyes lifted, waiting for the two male's responses.

Reyes

It was very hard not to sigh. Very, very hard. There were days Reyes wondered how he ended up as the diplomat of this rowdy lot and then he… Well, then he looked around, and it all made sense. Seriously though, he was going to need some help.

Thankfully, Askan did not say anything terribly provoking, and the grey Queen kept a respectful distance from the borders. There were some things a wolf simply could not tolerate. Small miracles, he supposed, and listened carefully to the explanation as the Vigil’s alpha saw it.

“I cannot speak to if she wants him as her tender,” he began, for he hadn’t witnessed it, and had no idea what kind of words Judas and Lyanna had exchanged. For all he knew, Judas could have come on too hard or perhaps insulted the color of her fur. They were very different things, and he would not force the yearling’s company on his packmate if she was uninterested. “So I propose instead that you give us this wolf until she heals, to carry out the responsibilities she can no longer tend to as his punishment instead. We will return him whole and without delay once she is back to full health. Then she is made whole, and our pack, too, is made whole.”

I don't care if heaven won't take me back

So he was the one? Judas. Askan's eyes narrowed into thin, scalpel slits as he stared the yearling down. He was a far cry from the vicious beast Lyanna had described, all coy and submissive like he could do no wrong. Well, Askan wasn't buying it, not for a second. He knew what was happening here, that the Queen was trying to back out of a shitty situation she'd put herself in. Clearly  she was forcing the Judas' paw, making him apologise for an act he likely didn't regret.

The promise he'd made to @Lyanna reverberated around in his mind. Perhaps he'd been a little hasty, vicious, but even now after he'd had time to think about it he knew for a fact that an apology just wasn't going to cut it. Talk was cheap, and the grey bitch certainly had a lot to say.

Unable to stop himself, Askan rolled his eyes. He loathed the way she spoke, all haughty, like they were somehow beneath her. So what that she was big and tall, so what if she'd somehow managed to persuade a bunch of thugs to do her biding. He was of half a mind to tell her so shove the offerings up her arse-Lach would no doubt appreciate that- but before he could even formulate the words in his mind his mate began to speak. They didn't always see eye to eye, but Askan had no intentions of undermining Reyes' authority. As he'd claimed long ago they were equals, the very least Askan could do was wait and see what he had to say.

It gave Askan a sense of satisfaction to know that his mate had dismissed her proposal, sort of, as he'd been about to do the same. His counter offer though....Well, Askan supposed he had led before and that it was probably best that they tried to be diplomatic. In their own way, of course.

It took a lot, but Askan swallowed his scathing words- for now.

"We have a healer." He was quick to dismiss her concerns with a irritable flick of his ear. Did she truly think they would let her wounds fester?  Tccht. "What he said, take it or leave it."

Or we do it my way. He didn't feel as though that needed to be said, Askan was nothing if not readable.
