It was evident she was interested. All mirth wiped clean from her face. She had met Lachesis, and from the encounter she didn't doubt he was a rather patient, kind man. Dealing with her when she'd been out of her mind, even after making his daughter cry. No, she didn't blame him one bit. It was quite the slap in the face. She had to wonder if it was the Keep's intent. Especially of the former member. What other reason would there be? That's how wars happened.

"Attacked without cause?"She blurted the question out. Bewilderment and concerning knitted her brows together. If that was the case she was even more uncomfortable with the wolf here and wondered why he was being permitted. Someone kicking his ass in turn was probably a more suitable punishment. Was that what the rest of his pack was like? No wonder Askan wasn't impressed. Why he wanted nothing to do with them. She was surprised he wasn't throwing around more insults actually. But what he claimed next, despite how simple the words were, they left her with a sudden chill. Impressed by his strong conviction, and a bit concerned by the part she'd play if it came down to it. But that's why she followed this man. He wasn't talk, and he had not intention of letting anyone walk all over him or his pack."If they don't pull their heads out of their asses they deserve it," she agreed.

Askan Selwyn
fade with yours?
I don't care if heaven won't take me back

"From the sounds of it, yeah."

It was complicated, though wasn't everything? Everyone else always had to tangle things up, rip and tear through the threads till Askan didn't know which end went where. He gritted his teeth eyes narrowed, a typical Selwyn squint graced his features as he glowered ahead at the Shallows. As though glaring at his problems would scare them off, spook them into flight like a flock of birds. If only snarling could solve all of his issues, he'd have things made in the shade if that was the case.

"Nothing to do but wait, I guess." Yet again this clearly irked him. "Wouldn't want people to think I'm a warmonger." He huffed as he wrinkled his nose, knowing full well that all sorts of folks would gladly pin the blame on him, would label him as a blood seeking brute. Not to mention it would royally piss off Reyes.

He didn't even care though, or so that's what he told himself. The opinions of other's didn't matter at all, who were they to judge him? They were just jealous, salty little shits who weren't even worth a moment of his time.

Adjusting his weight, so that he was now leaning a little more on his shoulders Askan pulled in a deep breath and puffed it out through his teeth. He wanted to try and enjoy the coolness of the water, but it was hard to relax when they were talking about such bullshittery. Instead, Askan hauled himself to his feet, not bothering to shake his coat off. He'd be dry in a moment or two anyway, damn sun.

"Keep up the good work, talk later". Was his impromptu way of excusing himself. It wasn't personal, Rem could probably tell as much anyway.

Thoughtful she didn't say anything more, though there was a bit of a frown she couldn't help. It'd be really stupid of him to hurt anyone while he was here but still she figured maybe she ought to talk to him herself. Get a feel for what kind of a wolf he was. Maybe his own leader had punished for his actions to begin with. By Askan's face he would easily put an end to any funny business. A thought that gave her some comfort. Despite his tough exterior he had their backs. She just hoped he felt the same about her.

The Keeper smirked about his comment, giving a snort of disagreement. "Warmonger? Nah. We'd already have drawn blood if that was true." She'd never for one second thought he was like that, but she wasn't sure her opinion would offer much weight. Especially since it looked like he couldn't relax much longer. She tried not to take offense as he climbed out. She forced a bright smile, giving a nod of her head. Her eyes watching his figure till she no longer could. Oh well, it'd been nice as long as it had lasted. Maybe next time she'd not ruin it. Rising, she slipped to her own spot, deciding a nap was in order.
