Avella Archer
She did watch the man closely just in case he made a move she didn't like. Sudden movements were definitely a no no. While she felt he was safe cause her parents seemed to think so Avella still wasn't so sure. The man did seem nice though and hadn't done anything bad so she would he brave and leave her hiding place. It was only because she was so hungry. The tawny puppy had also realized they if she didn't let him take her back then she might not ever find her way back to the den. What then? Would her parents come and get her? Would she wander until she couldn't take her hunger anymore? She really needed to stop, Avella knew she was being overdramatic. For all she knew her mother had already discovered her missing and was looking for her.

After scrambling out from under the bush she shook her coat out and stood on her spindly legs looking up at the man. Now her puppy blue eyes could see all the details of his coat and face. She remembered him quite well, she thought him a bit awkward but she felt that way a lot of the times too. She explained about her sploring when he asked and about how she'd fallen asleep under the bush the best she could understand her broken adult language. One day she would get able to speak like him but this was not that day. She hoped that he could understand her well enough that he would know this wasn't her fault it had just happened.

She shook her head at his next questions, “Nothin fun,” she told, “Came from den.” She hadn't wandered all over. By the time she'd come to the bush she'd grown really tired and had planned to splore some more when she woke up. Avella wasn't counting on her tummy rumbling when she did finally open her eyes. “For you?” She didn't understand why he said it wasn't far for him. Wouldn't it be the same distance for her? She really did hope he would explain what he meant. “Border?” That was the word she caught on to out of what he said, “Was that?” She didn't remember ever being told about the border, this was something new and he needed to tell her about it. Avella didn't want to throw a tantrum but she most certainly would.

Blackmoore Northcrest

His eyes sparkled with a soft smile as Blackmoore watched the cuteness of a pup on full display as Avella stumbled to him out from his hideout. It had pained him in away, deep down in his chest as the male hadn't been granted a chance to enjoy the beauty of parenting on his own. With all of it's flaws, like runaway children that would stick their paw into serpent's lair without fear, without thought. As they haven't been told yet of the untold dangers of this world, nor had experience any of it nor it's hardships. Still, the prospect seemed beautiful and fulfilling one's existence...

But on that the male's thought train had came to an end as Avella had chirped her reply to his question. Smiling a little sadly upon her words, Blackmoore took a thoughtful look upon the child as he'd spoke. "While I hoped that it was a stray firefly or something as fun to chase that brought you so far over here..." He'd smiled upon the remembrance of his youth, or at least of whatever had been left lying within his memory. Sadly it wasn't much, but that seemed to be a natural order of things wasn't it?

"Yes, for me." He'd begun next, in answer to Avella's confusion. He wasn't to leave it like that however, as the male had shifted gently, slowly as he'd spoke before rising on his four legs up slowly. He'd would look at her with care as he'd continued. "I'm grown you see, my seemingly same step will take me much farther than you right now." To illustrate that, the male had risen one of his paws slowly before taking a step forward, in between each fore-paw there was almost enough space for the child herself. "But don't worry - you'll grow. Maybe even bigger than me, who knows?" He'd would finish on a lighter, much more cheerful tune as he'd would smile down to her from above before lowering his head again for her convenience.

He'd would look her in the eyes before answering her next question. Oblivious for now of small telltale signs of impending tantrum if he'd failed to deliver. "You know what den is. You're either inside of it, or outside of it, right?" He'd mused as his thoughts were still formulating within his mind slowly. "But there's a moment, a line you cross when part of you is still inside while the other half is peeking outside of it... That line is a small border... Of sorts..." He smiled softly as he'd made a pause for her to mull it through. Or perhaps more for himself as the dark male had never found himself educating young minds before, so perhaps his vocabulary wasn't the best for the task yet. Strangely however, Blackmoore realized that his smiles had not been empty, but were coming straight from the heart as it seemed to enjoy it... Perhaps because it never had to listen to incessant cries for attention and answers before, but the thought was so alien to him that it even haven't come to orbit around his mind at this time. "Outside of your den is the pack, your home. But it have it's own borders just like your den does."

Avella Archer
Her puppy blue gaze was met with a smile after she'd made her way out if her hiding place. Well that didn't seem to threatening but she still remained a little cautious. After all she'd only met this man once before even if her mom and dad thought he was okay. Avella still didn't know him but she was giving him a chance and how that she was out she waited to see what would happen next.

She shook her head when he spoke about fireflies and fun things to chase. No, it was nothing like that she had wandered it was what she did. Even at such a young age she enjoyed it seeing what she could see before she'd inevitably be caught by her parents. There was in thing though that she addressed, “Chase, new place.” That's what had brought her out and that made sense to her at least. She wanted to see new places and so she supposed she was chasing that.

The den, in her young mind she couldn't judge what the distance was to there but the man had said she'd gone far. When she asked she became very confused by his words but she understood about his legs being longer than hers. To emphasize his words he did a demonstration by taking a step, Avella copied him. Only making his words more clear, “Ella step grow?” She said as more of a question looking down at her paws. She then looked up at him, “Ella fall,” she added as if that would somehow determine how her steps would be.

He spoke of her den and if she knew what it was to which she nodded, of course she knew what her den was. She spent lots of time there but then she tilted her head as ye went on to talk about it. She listened and she processed what he was saying, she even thought back to the times she had left the den and it started to click in her mind what he was saying. “Mom not let Ella leave den,” she said referring to before her and Scully were allowed to venture out of the den. He talked about pack and borders around it, this was confusing to Avella so, “We go?” She asked not really sure he would take her since he talked about taking her to her mom. The idea of a new adventure made her forget that she was hungry. Her parents couldn't be mad if someone took her, right?

The male had chuckled softly upon hearing the simple reply from the pup. In a way he'd envied her, to not be constrained by the adult life, needs and responsibilities. For a moment he'd felt like loosing himself in thoughts on that, but the time had go on. As it always does. He'd let his eyes to look kindly on Avella as she'd copied things he did, as he'd tried to explain the question why the distance to someplace was different for each of them at present. Of course that someplace at this time was her den, and the difference 'why' had became clearly apparent as the child copied the grown up male. It had caused him to smile gently, as he'd looked at her from above before speaking. "You won't fall, you'll grow instead. You'll see..." He'd would try to say in an reassuring tone.

"Perhaps she had a very good reason?" He'd would answer a little bit later, with his thoughts going just beyond the border. The coyotes were most likely still very much present, thus a good enough reason for Avella's mother to want her children safe. He'd would speak up lightly again, as he'd looked at the child once more. "Not everyone in the world is going to be nice and friendly you know. Not everyone have a good heart..." Coyotes for instance... Soon however his ears would pick up on a question from her, upon which he'd would smile. "To the den? Sure, your mom doesn't have to know you've ran away. What do you say?"

It can be their little secret.

Avella Archer
The Archer pup was always looking for new places to explore and call her own. That day wasn't any different besides she'd gotten tired before she'd been able to return. Now here she was trying to understand what this man was talking about and learning more than her mother probably wanted to know. Avella didn't mind though. She wanted to know it all before she was big like her parents and the man in front of her. She wondered if she would still stumble once her legs had grown a bit. Blackmoore on the other paw seemed confident that she wouldn't fall. “How long?” She wanted to know how long it would be before her legs were long enough.

Avella frowned when he said that her mother had a good reason for not letting her out of the den. “Mama take fun.” She was sure to tell him because Leotie didn't like her and her brother going very far from the den. What he said next she didn't understand all the words but she understood what he was trying to tell her. Avella shook her head, “Ella want find places.” She didn't care about mean wolves. All she wanted was to explore and learn about her world inside the borders. She shook her head when he questioned about the den, “Border, our secret.” She clarified repeating his words, “Mama okay not know Ella do.” She was certain that if Leotie and Sven didn't know they would be fine. She wasn't even going to be going alone.
