Risaela ???
@Rajan - backdated to January 18th, morning. //

Rajan was a pleasant wolf to be around - kind and proper and friendly. He definitely spoke a lot better than Ris did, herself, and she tried not to feel too embarrassed about it. She’d long since decided that she probably would always have some sort of stutter in her voice here and there. It was just how things were.

She’d been pretty open in their discussions - of course, she hadn’t told him everything, but she’d missed having someone to talk to at all, and she enjoyed the company. The silvery wolf told him pleasant stories: when she and Laike hunted for fireflies, when she met Mako and Can, discovering the flower field (though not the flowers he was looking for.) None of the tragedies had been brought up, but she did mention the coyotes and having to fight them, to defend her sister.

The young wolf was probably talking his ear off, but he hadn’t chewed her out for it yet, so she kept going.

Their travel was slow, with the snow hindering them slightly, but it wasn’t so bad. Eventually they reached the first and her favorite of the ponds - Edge Stone Pool. Slowly, she began picking her way down the rocks toward the bottom, where the frozen water stood. Even the falls themselves were icecicles.

“Careful,” she warned over her shoulder. “’S slippery!”

It had been five days since he had met Risaela from Wild Rye Fields and, so far, things actually weren't bad. In fact, her company was enjoyable; and, compared to the most recent interactions he had had with other wolves, she was probably the most stimulating without being annoying. Cubs usually asked a lot of questions, but Risaela was more mature than he had initially thought. Instead of questions and wondering about things that she had no knowledge about, she told him stories. She told him about her adventures, meeting others, and her own searches for flowers. For once, it was rather nice to forget about his ego and what he wanted, but whenever there was a lull, he reminded himself that, at the end of the day... of the lunar cycle... of the season... he was going to get what he had come this far for and she was going to help him.

Regardless, getting to know a little more about her had proven to be a good thing. Understanding what kind of soul had wandered into his life gave him a clearer picture to who she was: a helper, a seeker, an up and coming adolescent who had her wits and charm about her. And, when she had told him that she was going to help him out, he could take her word for it.

They arrived to one of the nearby watering holes a little sooner than expected, and he stood at the outer edge of the pool's features to watch her navigate her way down the frost-covered stones to the ice. She called out to him that it was slippery. He stepped over a large rock, positioning himself as to stand with a stone beneath each black-nailed paw. "Mmhmm," he hummed back at her through the morning haze. "I'm sure."

His golden gaze fixated on her silvery back and side, "We don't need to go down there now." He let out a puff of air, wondering if she would go further, "We'll be back soon enough." As much as he wanted to deny it, his paternal side dared to speak with a cautionary tone that he hoped she would heed, "Don't want you to get hurt."
