OOC: Set for mid-morning the day after "Carry me home tonight"

Being a loner takes more heart than what packers recognize it for. It takes a wolf that has the mentality to push through even the worse of things. A wolf emotionally strong enough to pull through the lonely nights. Its not glorious. It's not always fun, but it's freedom. True freedom and the independence to take care of yourself. This? This wasn't that. Annaliese laid there with a grumpy expression on her face, chin crossed over a paw. The bark bandage on her other paw a fresh reminder why it was best to stick around.

Ana never listened though, not to packers. Why should she? Grunting the yearling pulled herself up onto three legs. She hopped off and away from where @Clover had been keeping her. The girl wobbled about until she could hear...babbling water? Her heart skipped a beat, thudding so loud the sound flooded her ears. She sped up, hopping as fast as she could to meet the edge.

What greeted the girl was a sheer disappointment, a soft cry escaping her lips. This wasn't the coast! She clenched her teeth and shook her head furiously. It wasn't fair! It wasn't right! Ana growled before slowly storming down the side of the frozen creek until she reached an area it was still flowing. The shallow waters bubbled along mockingly, taunting the sorrowful wolf. Her brows furrowed and she bore her teeth at the water in dismay...

Something jumped.

Ana's previously fierce demeanor dropped as she cocked her head slightly. Then it happened again. A silver flicker as the sun hit the scales of the lively vertebrate. A large grin spread across her face. She waded into the water carefully, eyeing the fish as they swam about. Her tail wagged and she chuffed. Fish! There were fish! Annaliese laughed a carefree laugh, that sounded a little mentally questionable. She was just so excited that there were FISH!

Teetering on three legs she positioned herself against the current. She studied every little movement, waiting patiently. Her lids were narrowed, a pink tongue barely stinking out in pure concentration. There! One was coming her way! She made an attempt for it, missing on account of her injury. The girl huffed, repositioning herself. Another opportunity came and this time she stumbled face flat. She got up again and her fruitless attempts continued on and on for minutes that felt like hours.

Finally as a decent sized fish leapt into the air her teeth collided with its body. Her timing and three-leg hindrance finally lining up. Ana bit down hard, lifting her head high to show her prize off to the nonexistent onlookers.
