Scully Archer
Scully has happened across @Nia and @Alvars' markers.

This was... different. The scents and their intentions were clear, but it was just two wolves from what Scully could decipher. Not even a litter between them. What exactly were they protecting? Scully snuffled along the recently-worn trail, oblivious that he was helping to reinforce the now-overgrown paths that once housed the wolves of the Thicket of Secrets.

Enboldened by their lack of numbers, he pushed deeper in, ignoring the markers and seeking out their creators intentionally.

Nia Hervok
(PP of @Alvar let me know if this isn't okay)

They had returned home only a day or two ago and been busy at work. Remarking the trails around the thickets and their boarders closer to the heart of the territory. The trails were purposely intricate and misguiding despite the clear message of claiming the area. Nia hadn't wanted anyone to easily realize the location of their den in the Wildflower Glade. The extra markers and complex trails were intended merely for protection. They were perhaps able to be considered Guile.

After a long day of attending to these paths, hunting, and even some brief medicinal studies the pair were getting some well earned rest. They were always busy it seemed, attending to what would hopefully one day be a pack. With it just being them for now, their time was spread thin. Sleep was precious, almost a luxury. The Winter dam rested her head over the neck of her equal, curled against his body in a platonic snuggle. Her bright green eyes were shut, nose twitching slightly in her slumber, with ribs rising and falling slowly.

The white beast's nose continued to quiver more and more in her sleep. An unfamiliar scent of a male reaching her in her peaceful state. Gradually she became more conscious of it, following the smell in her dreams until she awoke. She peered from their cozy home suspiciously, the hairs on her nape rising. Without taking much thought or consideration of Alvar she stood up abruptly. Whether she disturbed him was of no concern to her one tracked mind. Someone was out there meaning she needed to find out whom and why. Without another thought she was leaving her beloved glade.

The she wolf walked briskly through the thickets, trained paws avoiding the sharp thorns that littered the ground. She followed the stranger's stench until she could see them. He was smaller than her by a few inches with dark silvery fur that she hadn't seen on a wolf before. He wasn't bad looking, to say the least. Perhaps that is what stopped her from revealing herself. Instead she stood a bit off, downwind, with her gaze fixated on Scully. Her pale appearance was ghostly at the midnight hour. It was rather irritating to be bothered so late, and part of her wanted to tear him a new hide, yet there was a stronger urge to figure out his intentions. So she waited.

Thoughts Speech PP is pretty much unnoticeable on my end. :)

Alvar woke with a start as Nia seemed to jump out of their comfy little snuggling pile, the sudden splash of cool night air hitting him made him wake up fairly quickly, shoving him out of sleep in a rather unpleasant manner. He looked forward at the snow-colored woman as she walked out of the den. He was about to call after her, to figure out what was going on, when she disappeared from view and he knew if he wanted answers, he needed to follow her.

He picked himself up and shook his fur to remove the matted sensation that was pressing into him on his underside, yawning as he did. He then walked forward at a brisk pace, trying to catch up to her. He looked around the sky to see if he could find the source of the disturbance to their oh-so-pleasant and much-needed sleep. He didn't see anything, but it didn't take long for him to catch the scent, deep and musky... The scent of a male wolf. Alvar had all the answers he needed now, and sped up until he was just behind the winter dame.

When they slowed down and caught sight of the man, Alvar would have been more than likely to run out and just have the encounter be done with. But Nia didn't seem too eager, so he stayed back, relying on his darker fur to keep him more hidden so that he could be in the open more, and get a better look at the man. He turned, whispering to Nia... "I don't think they're just passing through, they've come too far in. But they might be looking for a pack."

He couldn't be sure of anything, but he had to consider all possibilities, especially when it came to what seemed to be a loner barging into their borders at midnight.

Scully Archer
Unbeknownst to Scully, the very wolves he strove to encounter had already found him. The wind against him, he continued forward, pressing cautiously through the thorny undergrowth when called for. Why here, of all places? The Archer's mind spun trying to figure out this mystery. It was such an inhospitable place to live, he could only imagine it was chosen to keep others out.

So what exactly did they have that was so precious? Silver eyes shining, his curiosity drove him ever onward even as the forest fought to keep him out.

Flora gave way to stone, and he shoved his big leathery nose into what was once the threshold of home to the wolves of Secret Woodlands. With large, huffing breaths he sorted through the scents, mostly stale and earthy. This wasn't it. Scully backed up, muzzle swinging Westward. Frustration crinkled his brow. What the hell?
