7/19 afternoon.
Hide and seek with the puppies! Special tags for @Marrah @Aweho @Caelyn but everyone is welcome to join in! Seeker can use the bot channel in discord to roll and see if they find signs of a hider or the hider themselves.

It was a lovely day, and Enera was restless. She wanted to play. It had been a while since she'd gotten to really get out with her friends, and this seemed like the perfect afternoon to do so. After making sure @Rhaegara wasn't watching, Enera snuck off to find her age mates.

Their den was always her first stop when she wanted to play, but like her, they were beginning to wander further and further out. "Way! Mar! Cae!" she called, hoping they were close enough to hear her. "Wanna play?"

Just a note for me: Marrah is approximately 10 weeks old

All that remains is the faces and the names

Marrah was not happy that they were no longer using the safety of their birthing den, but didn’t want to seem like a baby. They were only using their “safe spots” now, which in the girl’s eyes did not seem nearly as secure as their cozy den. But, they were too big now to fit in together with Mama, and it was selfish to be in there alone, and also a lot less comforting. Instead, she was skulking around the edges of their little rendezvous zone, it was a cloudy day and not too hot, but she was still bored.

The only time Marrah was not bored these days were when Mama was telling her stories, that was her favourite time of the day. A close second was spending time with Enera, she was well into the phase where it seemed icky to be hanging out with brothers instead of sisters (which she still didn’t quite grasp that the other girl wasn’t really a sister).

Even though they were allowed to wander a little further, Marrah had taken up her usual position as close to the den as possible. So, when Enera’s voice came calling, she was quick to perk up, a bright smile across her dark face. ”I’m here!” She called back, but then had a great idea, diving behind a nearby rock structure, shoving her chubby frame beneath the hanging moss and hoping to obscure herself. Let’s see Nera try to find her now!

Rolled in bot talk to see if Enera found anything. Rolled a 5.

Enera didn't have to wait long to hear from her friend and perked up at the sound of Mar's voice. She glanced around, but didn't see the girl in any of her usual spots. She trotted over toward the place she thought Mar's voice came from, but still nothing. She could smell her though, so Mar couldn't be far.

Her brow crinkled and she looked around again. Nothing stood out to her and made a frustrated squeak in the back of her throat. "Mar!"

Then she realized the game, and her tail wagged. "Imma find you!"

Marrah rolled a 1 on a d20, so she's a terrible hider ;)

All that remains is the faces and the names

The girl tried to press herself up as tight as she possibly could against the rock, hoping that the moss hung down far enough to cover her. The stone was rough, but warm from having sat in the sun all morning, and Marrah nuzzled her nose against it. While she did not fully understand scents she thought it might help her become one with the rock, or something like that.

But, at the sound of Enera announcing that she was coming to find her, Marrah could not hold back on the giggles. Clamping a paw over her mouth she attempted to muffle the sound, but even she knew that it was no use. Giving up on what she knew was now a lost cause, she decided to leap out from under the moss and try to startle Enera.

Shrieking out another fit of giggles Marrah cried out, ”Okay, you hide!” Maybe she would be a better seeker than she was a hider.

Enera rolled an 11 on d20, so she's a mediocre hider lol. Score higher than that to find her I guess? Is that how we want to do that?

Enera felt she was getting close when Marrah's giggle hit her ears, and then the other girl jumped from her hiding spot with a squeal and more laughter. Enera squeaked in surprise and flailed about, tipping over and scrabbling in the dirt to get back to her paws. Her own peals of laughter joined Marrah's as she playfully batted a paw at the other pup.

She giggled again and nodded as Mar instructed her to hide. "Okay!" she said enthusiastically and whirled around to find a place to tuck herself away. "Close your eyes!" she piped over her shoulder and scampered off. She knew there were a few caverns not far off, and decided to try her luck there.

A small cavern caught Enera's eye, and she clattered down the incline to reach it. Upon reaching the entrance, she realized she wouldn't have enough space to turn around once inside. After a moment's indecision, Enera spun around and backed into the space, wedging herself into the crevice until she felt suitably hidden from sight but still able to peer out.

Marrah rolled a 15/20 and discovered Enera! She has rollen a 11/20 to hide

All that remains is the faces and the names

The peels of laughter that came from the two girls filled the territory, their voices carrying farther than either of them probably thought. Gasping for air as tears gathered in the corners of her eyes, Marrah giggling again when Enera pawed at her. She was ever so pleased that her plan B of surprising her friend had worked so much smoother than trying to hide.

Diligently Marrah nodded and closed her eyes. Not quite satisfied with that, she slapped one of her front paws across her closed eyes for good measure. Clearing her throat she started counting, ”One baby bird, two baby birds, three baby birds, four baby birds, five baby birds, six baby birds, seven baby birds,” all the way up to ten, Auntie Woya would be so proud.

Finally, she dropped her paw and glanced around excitedly. But, there was no visible sign of her friend, and unlike when Marrah had been hiding, no laughter. The girl made a few paces in every direction, squinting and trying to catch any sight of the cream coloured wolf before she remembered she had a nose. It was that realization that led her down the incline, and after a few more moments of pacing back and forth and finally locating Enera.

Bouncing up and down Marrah exclaimed, ”Okay! My turn my turn!” Waiting to make sure that Enera’s eyes were closed, the girl turned and snuck back up the incline. She back tracked in her paw steps the best she could, but this time instead of shoving under the storm formation she scrambled on top of it. Flattening herself down as short as possible, Marrah clamped her paws on her mouth to prevent any giggles.

Enera rolled 13/20 to find Marrah and succeeds (this is a really great back and forth tbh) and a 5/20 to hide. She's bad at this lol

She could hear Marrah counting and wedged herself further back into her cavern, trying to stifle her giggling. For a moment it seemed like it worked and Marrah wouldn't be able to find her, but before long the darker girl was skittering down the incline and had found her. Enera huffed in disappointment, smiled all the same. This game was fun!

"Hide hide hide!" Enera chanted, closing her eyes to wait for Marrah to run off. With her eyes still closed she wriggled her way forward. It was much harder to get out than it was to get in, and her eyes squeezed tighter shut as she silently pleaded with her grandma up in the sky to keep her from getting stuck.

If Gran was a star, could she see her during the day? She would need to ask Mama.

But right now was playtime and Marrah was waiting.

"Okay I'm coming!" she cheered as she finally weaseled her way from her tight hiding space and scampered back up the path. She stopped when she was back at their original meeting point and listened hard, hoping her friend's giggles would give her away again. They didn't, but Enera could smell her. She was proud of herself; it was hard for her to discern a single scent from the other wolves around her, but this time she recognized Marrah! She followed it, then paused in confusion. The smell led here, to a storm formation she hadn't paid much attention to before, but she couldn't see Marrah inside.

Then she looked up, and squealed with laughter, standing up on her hind legs to swat at the other girl. "My turn! Without waiting for Marrah to even close her eyes, Enera whirled around and dashed away, searching for a good place to hide. She dove under a bush and rustled about for a moment before settling down and peering out with gleaming eyes. Maybe she could jump out and scare Marrah like Marrah had done to her!

Marrah rolled a 2/20, so feel free to pp her getting scared like the wimp she is! Also, one more post each?

All that remains is the faces and the names

This hiding spot was better than her last one, and she had managed to stay quieter. It was hard to keep her giggles inside when she caught sight of the peaks of her friend’s ear walk past the stone formation she was on top of. Marrah was sure that this time she had done it! This time she was going to trick Enera and stay hidden, and win the hide and find game! But, alas, her sister was smarter than maybe she had given her credit for, and the dark girl laughed and slapped her paws against the stone as she was found.

Realizing that Enera was already running off to hide, Marrah faithfully clamped her paw over her eyes again. She was too taken off guard to count, and was not really sure when she was supposed to start looking. Wiggling her bottom in anticipation, she peeked through her toes and when she saw no sign of the light coloured pup, she figured it was time to start looking.

Jumping down, she stumbled and scraped her knee against the ground. Whimpering for a moment and licking at the wound she forgot all about looking for Enera. Then, she remembered what she was supposed to be doing! But, the whole stumble had shook her confidence and she did not even think about using her nose (which was a little wet with snot from trying to hold her baby tears in, she didn’t want Enera to think she was wimp).

In the whole distraction, Marrah walked right past the bush that Enera was hiding in, none the wiser that she was so close to who she was seeking.

Sounds good! Last post with Enera. I love that Marrah is like SISTER <3

Enera trembled with excitement and was only just barely able to keep herself from wiggling about while she waited. It took longer for Marrah to walk past her than expected, and Enera was just starting to wonder if she'd been abandoned when the darker girl came into view. Enera quickly flattened herself against the ground, eyes bright and waiting for the perfect opportunity to pounce.

To her delight, Marrah wandered right past without even looking her way. With a great grin, Enera leaped from her hiding spot and swiped a paw at Marrah's back leg, shouting, "Surprise!" Marrah's brief shriek of fright and wide eyes had Enera rolling with laughter, please that she was able to get Marrah back for her scare earlier.

That was when she noticed the small scrape on Marrah's knee and stopped laughing with a frown. "You okay?" she asked, stepping forward to sniff the wound. She nuzzled her head up under Marrah's chin and gently began to clean the small wound. She didn't like that her best friend had been hurt and needed to make sure she was okay. "Done playing for now?" she asked, not wanting Marrah to get hurt worse.

The girl had not even given a second glance towards the bush that she was walking by, surely if Enera was in it, it would be rustling around. So, she quickly trotted by it, trying to make up for the lost time that her scrape had caused her in the game. Still, her knee hurt with every step and her heart was not fully in it. Her friend’s ‘surprise’ was unexpected to say the least, and Marrah lurched forward with a squeal, tail tucked between her legs.

When she realized that it was just Enera paying her back for the game that she had started, the shriek turned into another round of giggles. The laughter ended suddenly, and while she accepted the nuzzle under her chin she agreed, ”It hurts,” then, when Enera’s tongue touched the scrape she flinched, ”Ouch!” A couple more tears rolled down her cheeks and she nodded that she was done playing.

Trying to keep her voice steady so she wouldn’t seem like a complete baby, ”I want to go find my Ma,” but, it trembled as she spoke. Marrah leaned against her friend as they made their way back towards where they had last seen the bigs, she needed some of her mother’s comfort.
