It had been crazy. It was as if the water had just disappeared over night, and it had taken days of searching to find the small oasis that wasn’t completely dried up, following stream beds back to their source in a quest to finally quench his thirst. He had been staying close and trying to avoid others. He was just thankful that this patch of water was not claimed by a pack otherwise he might have to join of all things in order to survive.
Survival was truly his own focus, and gone were the whims that had carried him throughout the delectable season that had created an unknowingly fruitful bounty. He had made his way to the water’s edge, though even the spring was looking sad. He took a few sips, conserving his energy and the water. A part of him was afraid that if he drank too much, the water might run out there too. He did not want to be saddled to this spring for the rest of his life, truly.
