Narimé Lagina
Dated back to December 7th
Lightly snowing, 29 degrees F.

Walk, look, pause, sniff...

It was all Narimé had done for quite some time now. Walk forward, look for danger or food, stop and scent for prey. She was glad that even though the snow was falling the sky was still very bright. It made things look like some angelic white wonderland to the young female.

The snow had not yet been swept off the branches of the trees. Tiny little flakes floated in the air ocassionally taken captive by small drafts through the trees. A long trail of wolf pawprints stretched out behind the silver wolf as she scouted for prey. Her long legs ate up the distance easily as the blue eyed she wolf concentrated on finding food for her pack.

Normally she wouldn't be this near another packs territory. From past experience Nari knew where Grizzly Hollow held its borders. So she was keeping away from those wolves and their land. However the young hunter was glad to find old deer scents and trails criss crossing throughout the forest. Now she just had to find a fresh scent.

Walk, look, pause, sniff...

Wolf scent reached her nose. Though it was a slightly familiar scent that tugged at her memory. Pausing and smelling the vibernum bush that the other wolf had brushed past Nari tested the scent in her mind. It was an older male scent, and it had a faint whiff of Grizzly Hollow still mixed in it. But the scent itself was fresh. For some reason the female knew this scent. What Hollow wolf had she met that was older?

Then it hit her. It was that old guy. Farko..? Fonno? Ferro? Something that started with an F. Narimé looked at the wolfs trail that led north. It seemed he was heading back to his pack. She had just missed him though and Nari was too busy to try to catch the male before he got to his territory. So instead she ignored the scent and continued forward on her path searching for a fresh deer scent.

It was when the silver wolf came across a heavy scent and tracks on the ground that she stopped and stared at the ground. Bear scent.. And it was very fresh too. But the she wolf couldn't take her eyes off of the size of the tracks. This was a BIG bear. But why was it up and around in the middle of winter?

Aniu

Of late the peppered wolf had been growing anxious. Anxious and annoyed. A storm was coming, she could feel it in her bones, and yet, beyond the memory of a fearful scent flitting past her nostrils or the scent of a stranger who had lingered a little too long... It was all enough to put the usually cheerful wolf in a foul mood. And then she came across that scent. The memory put her hackles on edge. The whole ordeal had been a blur. The black wolf, chasing her, hunting her. The idiot child who had intervened and dared to snap her teeth so close to Aniu’s face.

Not today. she thought to herself as her eyes narrowed and her coat bristled. Too close to her home, for she had taken it upon herself to patrol further than the borders. With the impending danger, and the cold of winter making hunting harder, they had to protect their every resource. This was not a place for a wolf from a strange pack to be slinking about.

The bear tracks didn’t phase her as they once would have. It was strange for the beast to be out of it’s den for sure, but perhaps it simply wanted to find itself a snack before going back to it’s long sleep. She was, after all, far faster than a bear and had every intention of running fast and far in the opposite direction should she cross it’s path. It wasn’t the bear she was concerned about. But the blatant trespassing of the stranger. Anywhere amongst the cedar trees for now, would be considered far too close to the suddenly emboldened woman.

Regardless, she tipped her head back to call for her pack mates. They always worked best as a team, whether it was fighting off bobcats or unwelcome visitors. She knew she would not have to do this alone.

Narimé Lagina

The silver wolf was still gazing at the ground, memories flashing through her head of the bear that had attacked Sibo and herself so long ago. What brought the young she wolf out of her frightened thoughts was the howl her ears picked up. It sounded like the wolf was northward closer to the packs territory. Though Nari wasn't sure if the wolf was inside the territory or not. She guessed not by the way it was calling for pack mates.

Flattening her ears and looking in the direction the wolf was howling Narimé wondered if perhaps the wolf was calling for a pack hunt or something. She wasn't that close to the Hollow wolves territory so the youth doubted that the wolves would be coming after her. Being the naive young wolf she was Narimé ignored the call and continued sniffing around the bear scent. If there was a bear out here she did not want to be found by it. Even though she too could out run the creature, the girl had an irrational fear of the large brown animal. She would stear clear of the direction the bear had been going.

Turning around heading Westward away from the Ursus scent Nari plodded forward again searching for a fresh deer trail. She was bound to find one sooner or later.

Destin McBain
Destin had been spending a lot of time with Sibyl exploring lately. It had been very fun and he always jumped at it any chance he could, but he knew he should meet other packmates as well. The male was also aware that it was his responsibility to protect the pack. Slowly he was figuring out Grizzly Hollow pack life and territory though it was still a little confusing for him. He smiled to himself as he thought of all he had been through in order to get this far and he was looking forward to the future ahead of him.

The brown wolf heard a rustle in the bushes nearby him. Scenting the air he knew it to be prey. Hunting wasn't really his forte, but he didn't have much else to do and any little thing helped. Immediately dropping to a stalking pose, the memories of his puphood and the way his parents hunted came back to him. Attempting to follow what he remembered them doing, he crawled forward to the moving bush. Then he stopped uncertainly, not knowing where the animal was in front of him.

The howl echoed throughout the wide range of pack land. He recognized it as a call, though the voice was unfamiliar. Whoever it was wanted someone to join or patrol with. Immediately forgetting about his hunt, the golden-eyed wolf trotted towards the source. A female wolf with fur the shades of gray and golden eyes stood before him. Approaching hesitantly, his tail swished back and forth. "I don't think we've met yet, I'm Destin, ma'am," he said respectfully, his head bowed down in submission. Being a recently-made Grizzly Hollow wolf, he figured any other he met was probably above him in the pack hierarchy. "You called and I would love to help however I can, ma'am," he added.
