Alexander was lupine. It was something inevitable, something natural. There may have been a constant smile on his face, showing the world that he was a nice guy, he was a happy guy...That was mostly true. But there was something missing. That was the unfortunate truth. To find himself dumped in the dirt, suddenly somewhere else, suddenly missing everything he'd ever known. It hurt. It set that horrible savage feeling into place, and made it simmer, waiting for just the right moment to strike.

He could say and think all he wanted about how he didn't blame the humans. They were stupid, loud, smelly beasts the were greedy. That was his way of making it right. He couldn't blame them if they were like that. But he did...He really did. It was their fault he was here, back where he'd started in this new place. staring up through the thin twist of branches and leaves at the pitch black sky, stuffed full with stars. It was bittersweet.

With his family, he could never see the stars. There were too many lights. Here, everything was clear. It was fresh and new. But Alexander wasn't sure he liked fresh and new. His age hadn't caught up to him yet. He still needed to see his mother, have his father say he was proud. The feeling of his pack mates crowding around him when he came back with a stolen prize. He'd never imagined having to live without those feelings. He'd never been faced with the tugging feeling of freedom and his own journey. His home was his home, and they'd never told him to leave.

Weldering Darksidy
Alexander was not the only lupine in the forest remorseful over the loss of family members long gone. The young black and silver rogue constantly had his past plaguing his mind, it was almost a wonder how he ever got anything done at all. A heavy sigh heaved from his chest taking in a deep breath of the midnight cool air. He prefer making his way around Relic Lore at night, it was more quiet and peaceful and also during the summer he did not have to endure scorching rays of sunlight against his long silver coat or against his short black points that heated up quicker. In the autumn and winter he would likely adjust his nocturnal habits but for now they did wonders for helping him stay in good shape.

As he traveled through his favourite area of Relic Lore, the Cedarwood Forest, he was gripping his one and only possession tightly. He'd shown it to a she-wolf named Murder recently when she had seen in an inquired but otherwise he preferred to keep it a secret. It was a baby snow leopard pelt that someone had given to him after completing a yearling trial. The pelt meant a lot too him coupled with the fact that in these regions no-one had ever heard of let alone seen a snow leopard before. His treasure was therefore kept close and secret. It was his last memory of home and would go with him to whichever pack he eventually would decide to call his home.

Weldering continued through the forest though after a while a strange scent was caught on the breeze, straight away he was alert and on guard as his eyes searched for the source. Finally his gaze settled on a white masked male as he slowly etched closer. Placing the pelt down between his paws casually as to try not to draw any attention to it he greeted the other with a dip of his maw. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"Hey there." He muttered softly, inclining his muzzle up slightly to catch the view of the jeweled sky. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"It's a wonderful night tonight, isn't it?"

Stars. Stupid stars. No, he couldn't think that. They were wonderful and hadn't done anything to him. It was better this way, he just had to tell himself that for awhile until the pain went away. He was old enough to be on his own, and had been for most of his life. Of course, that didn't mean that he wanted to be. And everything washed over him again, renewing the feelings within in, all of them that he didn't want wandering around inside. He'd deal with it. He'd have to if he was going to survive, because going back now would probably kill him. In his mind, he'd see their smiling faces as he was reunited with his parents. In reality, they'd probably be ashamed that he came back. They loved him, but at least they could understand that he needed to be on his own now. Something that he found hard to grasp.

He'd sensed the presence of another nearby, and was only waiting for a voice, or the sound of silence to take over again. He wished for company, squeezing shut his eyes, and wishing on all the stars in the sky. A voice he was granted. A minute smile crept along his muzzle, and he looked over at the male, moonlight eyes only shifting while he kept his muzzle aimed at the stars. "It is." The rest of his head soon followed, muzzle now pointed at the other gray male. Alexander chuckled lightly, noticing that they were kind of opposites, but said nothing. It was a rather childish thing to say. "You know," He sighed, looking up again. "I never thought I'd be here. It was a complete mystery until I saw it with my eyes."

Weldering Darksidy
While Alexander may have noticed their oppositely contrasting colours, Weldering was busy almost gawking at Alexander with a mild pout. He looked exactly like his daughter Riley, the girl he had lost before moving to Relic Lore for his fresh start at life. Sure she had only been an adoptive daughter but she was the closest thing he had ever had to family. It took him a few seconds to shake it off with a faint grin before allowing his gaze to politely settle upon the stranger again. It was clear to say he'd never set eyes on him before and wondered whether or not he was new to these lands or had been here a while and they had simply not crossed paths until now.

<b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"They bring back a lot of memories...." He muttered, nearly under his breath but with a sigh he could not help but focus up into the sky above with the fainest of smiles. Glancing over to Alexander only briefly wondering if that was why this rogue was here, simply to reminisce? <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"I'm Weldering Darksidy." He introduced with a flick of his tail casually. His maw turned up to examine the pretty stars in complete agreement, they really were something special tonight on this clear summer night.

Alexander Dieudonné
"Alexander Dieudonne," Level once more, he gave a polite nod to the newly named wolf. Weldering. It was an interesting name. With a chuckle, he back pedaled, "Where I used to live, you couldn't even see the stars. The lights on the ground were so bright. I don't have much recollections attached to these specks." His tail swept across the ground. Maybe it was better that the stars couldn't remind him of home. They'd help pull him away, if anything, which was better. Better. That was a good word. He'd repeat over and over again in his mind to make everything better.

"Sir, I'm aging," His tongue pressed against the roof of his mouth as he considered his words. "Never once had I been away from home except to fetch them food. Never once was I told to get out. Maybe they were using me, my parents, but they provided me with a love that I never imagined could be matched." It was still such a thing he couldn't imagine, but the best he could do was try. "You know," He chuckled again and sighed, looking at the ground, then at the darker fur of the younger male. "I'm a little disappointed in myself."

Weldering Darksidy
An interesting name perhaps, many found it weird and gave him odd looks but it was a dutch name given to him by his mother named after his father Welding who was once an Alpha of Emberell. He was proud of his name, liked the sound of it as well as his nickname which was commonly used, Welde. Or if anyone preferred a petname Weldekins sufficed. The other male's name was stored into the back of his mind and his face, well let's just say he would not forget the white mask of Alex in a rush.

But this Alex wolf, was he talking in riddles or something, Weldering thought to himself while furrowing a brow. he didn't hide his confused very well. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"Lights on the ground? What do you mean?" He queried, having never encountered humans before he had stumbled once or twice across ruins but never really pondered what creatures made the rocks stack up in such unusual shapes and piles.

Though his next comment was just as odd. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"Aging? No... Well I mean we all age but you're not that old Alex. What are you, one, two years older then me?" His shoulders rolling back into a shrug, if Alex was six or even seven then that would be getting on a bit. Though he paused not wanting to interrupt as the other brute spoke of home. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"Why did you not go back? You left them?"

Alex probably should have put more thought into his words before he uttered them. He only seemed to be confusing the younger wolf. He couldn't take them back now, changing the subject to something else, so he could only answer as honestly as he could muster, without making things even more confusing. "I lived near some human places. Quite a few of them actually. All day and night. It was like the sun never really went down." He couldn't help but chuckle. The strange human lights were like their own massive stars. Only much more bright and absurd.

"Spot on Weldering." Alex nodded, surprised on how accurate that guess had been. Okay, so maybe he wasn't that old, and he certainly didn't feel that way either, but he just knew, as if he'd been counting every full moon as it appeared in the sky. "The humans took me. I'd been stealing their stuff to feed my pack. Clearly the stupid"--he couldn't help but speak this in a slightly endearing tone--"creatures didn't take too well to that." Tilting his head to the side, he just shrugged. "I suppose worse things could have happened. I thought about turning back, once I woke up not too far from this place, but decided that my being here was some sort of sign."

Weldering was easily confused, it was at no fault of Alexander. It did not help that Alex knew what Humans were and did where as Weldering had only come from lands that had not even the faintest trace of Human existence. He had heard brief mentions of them from lore so when the word was uttered his soot coloured ears climbed high on the top of his head. Even more alert then he was before he even leaned slightly forwards as he listened. Though he found it odd and amusing how Alexander mentioned that he used to steal their food. Smirking somewhat at the thought. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"Stealing their food? That's like stealing nuts from a squirrel isn't it?" He remarked, trying to make a point but unsure of how to explain it. Basically the bottom line of it was that stealing was wrong and maybe being exiled by humans was his payback for doing it.

<b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"Was there no other way to feed your pack?" His voice trailing off as he reiterated the words he had said back in his head. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"Your pack?" He once again repeated this time out aloud. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"So you were an Alpha eh?" Tilting his maw slightly to one side in a quizzical fashion. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"Well at least you still have your health, call it a fresh start here in Relic-Lore."

"Squirrel aren't as smart as humans." He commented, not quite understanding what Weldering meant. "Well, there was lots of small prey. Plenty of squirrels, actually," He chuckled at the thought. "But the humans scared away most of the bigger game." He had a feeling that Weldering didn't quite see eye-to-eye with him on the issue. The humans were loud obnoxious creatures that scared away what live prey that wolves could acquire. "The humans had plenty of food. I only took it from these large bins of junk first, but the better stuff was in their possession. It wasn't as if they knew I took it...Well, they found out eventually." Alexander looked a tad embarrassed, then shrugged. They didn't have to agree. Alexander believed that his actions had been right to keep his family alive. That was what mattered to him.

"Me! Oh no." He shook his head swiftly, denying such a statement. It had been his greatest wish, something that probably would have been granted to him in time if he hadn't been relocated, but he would have never been a match against his old alpha. That wasn't how he was anyway. He would earn his title in the proper way, climbing up the ranks, not by fighting. "Good point. Health. Fresh start." Snorting, his tail wagged with slight excitement. He was beginning to feel that it was silly of him to feel so down about it all in the first place.

He was not quite on the same page as Alexander when thinking about humans, but this was only because he had never met one before or seen their destructive side. Though as Alexander continued it only made Weldering frown slightly not completely in agreement with what Alex had done in the past. Maybe it was to feed his family but if there was that much of a food shortage he could have just moved somewhere else right? Instead of going after the really easy food but risking getting caught - which happened eventually. Instead of moving his pack and being safe he was now separated from them and alone.

The lighter pelted male was quick to let Weldering know that he was not the Alpha, humming to himself he grinned slightly at the reaction he got. 'Good point. Health. Fresh start.' Weldering nodded in agreement this time. Hopefully the topic about humans put behind them to avoid further confusion. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"That's why I'm here, I haven't had the best of luck in the past. Here's hoping things will change in Relic Lore." He murred softly, still with his same idle grin.
