RE - The sky is dark with storm clouds

It was not at all good weather to be traveling in. However the silver wolf had wanted to get to Poison Path pack before the storm had truly started up. Unfortunately for the gray scaled canine the pack who's borders would have once been found here was no longer situated near the lake.

The winds were beginning to churn up grit sending it flying into the air. A great howling came from higher up the mountain as the winds passed over mismatched rocks creating the horrifying sound. Narimé found herself desperately searching for any sign of Poison Path, but no scent or sight of any Poisoned wolf greeted her. Her dear friend @Chantille wasn't there anymore. Treena, Tlarx, Aphrodite, and Athena, all of their scents were gone from the land. Nari couldn't even find any pack scent of wolves she didn't know. Concern and a sad nervous feeling swept through her head. Maybe what happened with Athena and Aphrodite... the pack maybe disbanded? They're definitely not here anymore. Which means I won't be able to ask them how to find a safe route over the mountain. the young alpha turned towards the forest that ringed the lake where the pack once lived. She would have to find shelter before the storm hit then travel after everything had calmed down.

On her way down traversing the cliffs and boulders Narimé couldn't shake the feeling of loss. Only one of the Poisoned wolves had truly been her friend. In fact the white healer Chantille had been perhaps her only best friend in all of Lore, but losing the whole pack when it had been doing so well was just...

Unimaginable.

Narimé cringed inwardly as she traveled downwards closer to the lake. Random thoughts of the pack being killed by landslide or by fire dancing about in her mind. The young inexperienced alpha was now learning how fast a pack could head downhill after flourishing for some time. She would do anything to keep her family together. To keep something like this from happening.

Reaching the waters of Lost Lake Narimé paused only momentarily to take a drink. A thunderous boom sounded from the heavens setting the fur on the back of Nari's neck standing on end. A low growl escaped her muzzle as she lifted it from the water to look at the massive clouds which were threatening to swallow the mountain top, including serpents pass, riddle heights, and lost lake. Turning quickly now that she was on level ground Narimé began to sprint towards the forest searching for shelter before the thickening mists of the clouds made the hunter lose her way.

Chantille Idasis

Chantille had questioned her decision to scale the mountains multiple times as dark clouds began to gather. Once she reached the top, the woman's sides heaved for a few minutes. It had been awhile since she had gotten a workout like that. With her head raised now, she looks around. Her deep chocolate eyes do not pick up any other form of a wolf. The creamy woman cocked her head and allowed her nostrils to take in the scent of the air. Rain was definitely coming.... but there was no smell aside from that. No wolves. Nothing.

A frown pulled at her muzzle as she started to pad along among the rocks. Her mind began to jog as many memories came back to her. She could recall the day she had met Rhysis, and the wolf brought her back to his pack after she had momentarily healed him. As she thinks of such, the woman does not realize she is smiling- that is until she recalls when the leaders left. Chantille had taken off, confused and uncomfortable with what was happening within her family. The smile turned to a frown now.

The large lake appeared before her eyes. Feeling her parched throat tighten, Chantille picks up her pace. Her tail wagged slowly as she neared the body of water. The water rippled as she approached, and her soft eyes watched the liquid shimmer. A storm was certainly on the way. The wolf lowered her head and drank her fill before perking back up. Her ears erected themselves as her head shot upward. The sudden motion of something fleeing away from the lake caught her attention. Chantille squinted as the silver bullet headed in the opposite direction. At first, she wondered what it was, then a small possibility crossed through her mind- no. There was no other wolf she had seen with that silvery coating, but what were the chances? Feeling her heart beating rapidly in her chest, Chantille grew anxious. Her chest built with panic as she stood, unsure of what to do. Without thinking, the wolf parted her jaws and released a woof. This was no ordinary sound, though. It was partially twisted into a howl, which made her sound quite awkward. Her muscles tensed beneath her thick coat as she leaned forward. Her claws and paws raked up mud as she turned sharply to take off after the figure.

Narimé Lagina

Narimé had almost made it to the pine tree line that edged the lake when she picked up a noise behind her. It sounded rather odd but she kept her eyes on the rolling land ahead of her. However her ears flicked backwards to listen for more noise coming from behind. What she heard was paw steps, as if someone were trailing her. Panic rose in her chest as she realized just how far into what used to be Poison Paths territory.

Oh sh- The pack was still here! Her thoughts turned to fleeing but in order to do that she would have to turn around back into the coming storm clouds. How did I miss the markers? There wasn't any scent! She thought angry at herself for not noticing any wolf scent. Not only that worried her, but the wolf behind her was faster. Nari could hear her pursuer catching up quickly. At this rate she wouldn't be able to flee. All she could do was turn to face the Poison Path attacker. Vut if there's one wolf then there must be more of the pack close behind. Debating on fleeing or attacking the silver wolf did not realize how close the unknown wolf was behind her.

Finally the young woman made the decision to face her attacker. Narimé made sure to keep her legs stiff as she slowed quickly to a stop then twisted herself around to face the oncoming wolf.

Surprise lit her features as the wolf sped closer only about five wolf lengths away now. Nari had miscalculated how fast the white wolf was. Now she braced herself for the impending collision.

Chantille Idasis

The clouds rolled in. The area was growing darker by the second... it was most dangerous to be up at this climate during a storm. And yet Chantille ran on. Her muscles strained as the wolf before he turned around to face her. The creamy wolf's own eyes widened as her gaze met the silver wolf's. Those blue-purple eyes- it was her! Excitement tainted Chantille's blood as she attempted to get a hold on the earth beneath her. Her pads pressed against rock, and she attempted to regain balance. She was heading too quickly toward Narimé. The healer clenched her jaws together as she barely brushed Nari's right side. Chantille tripped over her own feet, landing on her own side and about a wolf's length away from the silvery woman.

Her side heaved as she attempted to catch her breath. Her mind was in a whir. She lifted her head, looking at the wolf before speaking quietly "Narimé? Is that you? Am I seeing things?" She shook her head as she laid on her side. The dark clouds continued to roll in, and soon a rumble pierced through the air. Thunder. Chantille got up slowly, wincing as her side quickly grew sore. The wolf shook out her pelt before looking carefully at the wolf. She breathed in the air, and, aside from rain, the familiar scent of the young girl had come back to her. The relief flooded over Chantille as soon as she recognized the scent. With her tail wagging energetically, the wolf smiled. A large raindrop fell from the sky, landing between her warm eyes. With a slow blink of her eyes, Chant looked to Nari expectantly.

It had been a year since she had last seen that face and smelled that scent. Narimé had herself tensed ready for the oncoming blow of the white wolf. However as Narimé gazed at the woman while she tumbled past barely bumping her, the young alpha recognized the white she wolf.

"Chant-" Her words were cut off by the healers own excited soprano voice. Nari was still in shock standing there realizing that someone she had not seen for so long was just suddenly there. She reached her nose forward as Chantille stood up and sniffed the white wolf all around. Her tail began to wag excitedly just as Chantille's was. The smell of Poison Path is gone from her pelt too... Is she alone now? Narimé pulled back looking into Chantille's brown gaze for a second watching a rain drop plop onto her forehead; then realizing that was rude Nari look away towards the threatening cloud mass. The thunder made Nari jump however. Her blue eyes looked back at the storm as it approached the pair of females.

More rain began to fall. Slowly at first then quickening as the storm rolls in. A flash of light betrayed the malice hidden within the clouds while roaring thunder followed. Large fat drops of rain began pelting the ground and quickly drenched Narimé's gray fur.

"Chantille come on let's get to the forest!" Narimé was unable to truly greet her friend yet. Not while they were out in the open during a thunderstorm. Her mind was set firstly to getting them to safety.

Chantille Idasis

The rain picked up. Chantille felt more droplets landing on her head, and soon her whole coat was getting soaked. The sky had darkened over, and the clouds released their tears upon the land below. Paws gripped the slicked rocks carefully as Chantille lifted her head. Her gaze locked onto Nari as the silver wolf yelled for her to follow her. Where were they to go? Chantille nodded, not bothering the speak. The wind was picking up. As she moved, Chantille's focus remained heavily on her paws. She planted her weight evenly on each as she trailed behind the woman before her.

Her jaws parted to allow panting as she fled along. The cool rain bombarded her pelt as she ran against the wind. The treeline was growing nearer and nearer. Relief from the rain would come soon. Her gaze remained partially on her feet, for the transition of rock to grass was sometimes difficult. Chantille felt her front right paw tap on a rock as she bolted toward the forward. She winced but forced herself not to lose balance from such a small distraction. Though she was able to avoid that, she did not see the small ditch leading down into the forest.

As Chantille attempted to slow, the creamy wolf slipped down the muddy ditch. Her body lurched forward, and she slide into the ditch. Leading in head first, the woman releases a growl as her chin met the mud. Quickly, the wolf stood up and shook her coat out. She had no idea how she felt right now- she was excited because of Nari, she was in pain, and she was filthy.

Narimé Lagina

Narimé pulled herself up slowing to a stop just as the mist began rolling in. They had made it to the forest where the dense canopy lessened the rains force. Nari was still wet but at least she wasn't being pelted by stinging rain. Her violet hued eyes glanced sideways only to see Chantille standing behind her covered in mud.

That was when a storm of giggles erupted from Nari's muzzle while she poked her nose forward to touch her friends soaked shoulder. "What happened to you!?" the young wolf had a hard time stopping her laughter while looking over the brown streaked snowy healer.

A wagging tail lifted behind Nari as she drew back to look over Chantille carefully. She doesn't look too hurt. the silver she wolf thought quietly then shivered a little as thunder rumbled high in the heavens. She didn't like being out and about during a storm, but there wasn't much she could do at the moment. They had made it to a more sheltered area at least. The inexperienced wolf knew enough to wait for the worst of the storm to pass before moving on over the mountains.

"I guess we'll be staying here for a while as the storm goes by." Narimé shrugged then sat down and began grooming her wet fur. A few moments later she looked up still amazed to see the white fae's familiar face standing there right next to her.

"How have you been?" and where did Poison Path go? was the question left unasked while Nari busily ran her teeth through her thick soaked fur.
