@Maksim Sorry it's so jumbled. I kept having so many thoughts run through my head.

Mid-afternoon: Patchy light rain — 57° F/14° C
Random Event: There are an unusual number of foxes being sighted around Relic Lore.

In. Out. In. Out. This was the rhythmic pattern Enoki chose as she maneuvered her way through the countless cedar trees that made up the expansive area of Cedarwood Forest. Her tail rose like a brilliant banner behind her while her jaw hung partly open to allow just the tip of her tongue to fall forth between her fangs and taste the air as she trotted along the more worn paths of previous travelers, the scent of pack wolf and lone mingling together among the many other scents of wildlife that roamed the forest. Enoki took a mental note of the days weather as her pads continued the cantered pace along the forest floor, rustling debris of scattered bones long picked clean of flesh and leaves both fresh and of seasons past. It was partly cloudy today with light patches of rain falling on occasion, just enough to give the summer air a moments breath of moisture before the heat would steal it away like a silent kiss.

Echoing through the forest were the sounds of foxes talking to one another in ugly barks and shrieks that seemed to belong to a whole battalion of them, though it could only possibly be no more than four distinct voices close by. Still, it was unusual, she thought, to hear so many of them. The forest was indeed isolated at this time, currently free of the presence of wolves minus herself and oh they most have loved it there and there would be many great places for a fox den. Foxes. Oh how Enoki hated, no loathed foxes. The annoying orange balls of fur that always arrived uninvited at kill sites and dared to take what was not rightfully theirs. Scavengers. She gave a snort of distaste at the thought of the critters, her upper lip curling back to reveal her canines in a silent snarl before rolling back down to once more hide her precious teeth. Absolutely disgusting creatures. What she wouldn't enjoy more than to snap the neck of one and have herself an afternoon snack.

She gave her chops a quick lick as she felt herself drooling a little at the thought of having a said snack, though she knew very well how scrawny and hardly held much meat on their bones except come fall when they began to pack on weight for the winter. That was when the tiny canines were worth the energy to catch. Not today, though. Despite the rain that fell throughout the day, it was the heat that kept the darkly hued female from pursuing a quick nibble. Instead it was the sudden pungent odor on the air that made her stop in her tracks and tilt her head skyward, scenting the air. So it would seem that during her thoughts she aimlessly managed to stumble closely to the boarder of a pack. She wondered if this was the Cut Rock River pack she had heard about while traveling across the Lore.

Maksim Baranski

Maksim eyed the figure, curiously, from between the trees. A lone wolf, with patterns mimicking a magpie's, had stumbled across his border, it seemed. He gave a few expert sniffs, deciphering all he needed to know about the wolf. Female. Mature, around four years roughly. Lone wolf, despite interacting with many due to the mixture of scents on her coat. It wasn't the first time this had happened, honestly. Not every beast that came across the scent marks had journeyed there with the intent to join. Yet, it always remained a little suspicious to the agouti king. He himself had never accidentally found himself on the edge of a pack's territory. Perhaps his nose was sensitive to these things, or maybe it was just a case of him being aware of his surroundings.

Truthfully, the Baranski had come to the borders in order to investigate the strange number of foxes he had spied. Nasty little land vultures they were, scrawny and foul smelling. He'd been hoping for a little extermination attempt, honestly … a chance to burn off some excess energy. Instead, it seemed he'd most likely have to deal with a vagabond on his doorstep. Not that he was complaining, honestly.

Deciding finally to make his presence known, the titan wolf stepped out from the blind spot, his tail arching over his back. “Greetings,” he offered, stopping but a few wolf lengths away from her. Now that he was out in the open, so to speak, the agouti Mackenzie scanned the female. Amber eyes that shimmered proudly against the dark black of her sockets. Grey guard hairs tickled her face and body, white patches scattered across her swarthy coat. What a strange little bird she was. “What brings a stranger so close to the lands of Cut Rock River today?” He lifted his chin slightly, looking down at smaller female. He was most certainly curious.

"Greetings." It was this unexpected hello from her left flank that sent the magpie wolf to whirl with a quickness; despite the weakening thinness that plagued her slender frame, and face her surprise guest, teeth bared for a moments time before his scent reached her flared nostrils. Alpha. Male. That was all she needed to register before her body language instinctively changed, taking on a submissive posture as her belly sank to lay beneath his towering height with ears laid flat against her skull. Amber orbs focused on the broadness of his chest in respect as her tail; once help high, lowered to extend out straight behind her frame. 'Where had he come from? He must be a good hide and seek player.' She thought to herself before gracing the valiant leader with a reply.

"O-oh, I'm sorry, greetings sir! You startled me there." Her tail waved behind her in a lighthearted manor, showing the clearly more powerful brute that she meant no ill will."I was just taking a leisurely afternoon stroll when I grew distracted by the ugly chatter of foxes within the area. I do apologize if I've crossed into your lands." Her head dipped apologetically following her latest statement, her amber orbs reflecting the purity of her words. Enoki was in no physical condition for a confrontation, especially with that of a pack patriarch. That was one wolf you never wanted to piss off, unless you were a wolf that got off on that type of situation, but as for the magpie wolf, she rather avoid unnecessary conflicts.
