Phineas Argyris

His words were not taken lightly or kindly -- not that this came as a surprise to the ivory regal. A low chuff escaped him then, and as the tawny beast roused himself up higher in defe3nse to the ice queen, a smirk glided to the tainted lips of the Argyris man, though he stepped further forward, his shoulder rolling out to block contact the man might have tried with his son.

Best of luck with that, he muttered dryly, determining that this conversation had come to as swift of an end as it had begun with. His bright eyes roved the other with calculation -- if Athena led here, then the pack was of no threat. She would be gone before the season had come full turn. Shifting his gaze to the youth just slightly behind him, Phineas gave a nod to the boy to indicate they were to go back the way they came -- and for good measure, they would not travel directly back to the pack.. instead, they would take a small detour, lest one of the wolves from Athena's fleet determined they were worthy of investigation.

With a nod of finality to the tawny wolf, the Argyris man turned after his son, beginning to weave their way further from this area and to the slopes that led them away from Silent Moon Plateau -- Phineas had not expected neighbors so soon upon the mountain, but he knew they had to be new.. he had done enough scouting trips before truly settling his pack to know better.

Takis Argyris

His father had struck a nerve it seemed, and while Takis might have been amused at how quickly the others temper flared, he could not bring himself to reveal this -- instead, his bright eyes swept over the other man curiously, wondering what this female had ever done to his father.. and why he would insult another so close to their territory. Had the  action been reversed, the youthful Argyris held no doubt his father would have wasted little time with words and instead moved to action.

Still, his side was chosen by blood alone, and not allowing his gaze to linger even further, Takis shifted with the Argyris man, his tail giving an idle flick as he moved forward, away from the wolf who glowered at them now. Upon the heels of his ivory leader, Takis allowed his brow to darken with a frown now that his visage was shifted from the stranger, though he spoke nothing. If Phineas felt the need to tell the tale of this 'Athena,' he would.. Takis, if anything, found probing in to others business was unappetizing, much like his father.

They moved in silence, and obediently, the boy would follow their father as they took a longer way home -- knowing full well it was only because Phineas desired to keep their location a secret. They both knew the pack would likely seek them out now that they had found out they had neighbors -- what happened after they knew their location was something Takis could not predict.

Would his father attempt war on a pack led by a wolf who disgusted him so?

Vespertio Vuesain

Slowly the reverberating growl in Vesper's throat dwindled down to a quiet hum until it eventually ceased all together. Long, fixated golden stare watching the retracting forms of ivory fur from his borders with posture continuing to hold its rigid state. A distasteful snort flaring the moist, leathery texture of his nostrils at their rears. If they knew what was best for them they would do good on avoiding his borders and better yet him in general. Insulting the queen of these lands was like insulting him to his face and that would not be tolerated. Next time if they were so unlucky to repeat today's action there would be no holding back the anger that boiled his blood. What actions would come from it unknown and uncared about in this moment of time. It wasn't until their phantasmal forms completely disappeared into the distance to become one with the snow on the ground did Vesper allow his hardened pads to turn his body away from the cleared out scene and back towards the heart of his home. Muscles still tensed yet the once full masted tail behind him dropping down limply at his heels with a gentle swaying motion.

Gradually heavy paw steps left behind tracks of his travels towards the warmth of the communal den and a cache ready to fill the growing hunger in the pit of his stomach. Original plans of wanting to sneak past his borders for the day all but forgotten by the confrontation. It would not wise of the newly titled king to leave his people unattended to with the possible threat of having an enemy at their backsides. Whether the ivory man was deemed as such was yet to be authorized, but one thing was for certain. The agouti patriarch did not like the other man. Quietly the Vuesain slipped deeper and deeper into his domain to a location he kept his private stash of caches for personal consumption. Perhaps a plump winter hare would help to cool the extra warmth heating up his blood that flowed through his veins. Food did wonders for ones mood.
