Kalysta hadn't intended to travel so far, but she'd gotten a little lost. She didn't think her cousin would disappear like that. She'd been (mostly) minding her own business when she heard Jacy pass by, and it seemed so unfair that he could so easily leave the territory while she was trapped there, so she followed him. She intentionally hung back, but it turned out she let him get too far ahead of her, because when she slowed down to focus more on placing her feet he vanished. Now she was stuck away from home and didn't even know which direction she'd come from.

Kal thought she could find it. She walked in what she thought was the right direction based on which direction the faint shadows leaned, but in the end she thought she must be walking in circles. After that she walked aimlessly. Or spent days resting, or trying to sneak up on weird smells, or playing in the river when she came across it. She was careful to avoid fast-moving water which was fortunately loud enough to warn her away. She was really having fun, learning to navigate a strange world and what different things smelled and sounded like, but she was really starting to get hungry. And she missed her dad.
Finally, finally, after she didn’t even know how long, she smelled it. The familiar tang of still water and her family. Kalysta let out a triumphant call. She was home and she’d found it all by herself.

It was getting colder, and Morven and Eclypse were gone. Rosemary was cold, and tired, and hungry, and wasn't sure exactly what to do or where to go from here. She had found a pack - or at least, what she hoped was a pack, - in the forest, but she didn't know if it was the right one. Didn't know if Sage would be waiting here for her or not.

What she did know was that she couldn't survive by herself. Regardless of who lived in these woods, she needed to appease them in some way. Above all else, she needed a place to stay.

She'd caught an emaciated rabbit - it wasnt much, but it was the best she could do. Rosemary figured it was the proper thing to bring an offering for whoever she were to meet, to prove herself useful in some way, even if it was hardly a noteworthy catch.

The girl howled at the border, and didn't have to wait long for an answer. She shivered as the stranger approached, tail giving a tentative wag low between her legs as she nudged the prey toward him.

"M-my name is Rosemary," she said, cringing a bit at the slight stutter. She'd meant to sound more confident. "Is it alright if I stay here? I, um, caught this. Now his dirty form stumbled toward the smell of home and he hoped his family would still be there waiting for him. His steps strengthened when the smell of his pack surrounded him. Amidst the towering and majestic Kingsfall forests is almost anything needed for survival. The forest is rich in resources, so it is not a great surprise when you come across the scent of a pack's borders marking out a piece of this land for themselves. It seems the group has taken refuge near a stream, and though trees and foliage obscure the immediate view, is that a waterfall you hear in the distance? Intrigued, or perhaps in need, you call. And before long you are greeted by a tawny woman who is polite, but wary of your presence, she asks for the reason of your call, how do you win her over?
