RE: Time Works Wonders - Gent - Aug 24, 2015

[dohtml]

With Minka's blessing, Alphinaud was formally inducted into the pack. She stepped forward to mark him as her own, and Gent had to mindfully keep his tail still. He was happy that their chance meeting at the spring had evolved into this, and very much felt that they had just gained a very useful and loyal subordinate. When Minka touched the tip of her muzzle to his cheek, he returned the gesture, before his pale eyes watched her go. A part of him, for a brief moment, was a bit jealous that she would be able to curl up with the children, yet more of him was excited to have Alphinaud with them and he was willing to sacrifice an hour or two to get the man familiar with his new home.

His gaze returned to Alphinaud as he spoke, a nod and smile coming from the blue black beast. "I'm counting on it," he informed him, before he motioned with his head for the other man to follow. Turning on his heels, he began the ascent back up the mountainside with Alphinaud in tow.

On the way to the main den, they made several detours, the king showing the other man the most frequented caches as well as other important markers and shelters within the territory. As they walked, he also filled him in on the current dynamics of the pack, listing each member and their current condition and vocation. By the time they returned together to the communal den, the entrant would have had a solid foundation of basic information on the pack. The rest would be for him to build upon himself.
