Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright (M) BWP - Danica - May 17, 2018 ( @Dread @Piety ) (Marking this as M for the birth of Celica and a sibling that doesn't make it plus uninvited guests.) They had been wondering around, just the two of them, finding things to eat and mostly just enjoying one another's company. There were many awkward silent moments between the two, but what else could be expected? Danica walked a few mere feet ahead of her eldest daughter, "Nia honey, we really need to get back closer to the den." Her voice was leveled and calm but urgent at the same time. The mother looked at her daughter intently, the young yearling practically dragging her paws. The older wolf sighed, "What's wrong?" A long pause, hesitation, then nothing. Just a funny look from the girl. Dani sighed, turning her head back around and ignoring the awkwardness of it all. If Nia didn't want to talk then that was that. The pair had found a small den on the edge of the Ghastly Woods, it really wasn't ideal. There was only enough room for one of them at a time and they hadn't got to do much to it. Found a few old furs from carcasses but it really was shabby. The baby deserved better, and so did Nia. Danica pondered all these things, guilty that she couldn't do better. If only Darios was here and things hadn't gone wrong. She really was not in the running for best mother ever. Nina....I wish you were here...I need your advice. She had really done it now hadn't she? Given up on finding Sparrow, mating with a stranger, convincing children merely out of desire and no ability to take care of them... The white beast grimaced, coming to a stop, lids squeezing shut as she held her breath and tongue. She knew she had been close and that they shouldn't have wondered off so far from the den dismorning...but was it really time? Of all of her litters this was the one she was den wise, support wise, and food wise the most unprepared for. Panting heavily the mother looked back onto her daughter, a small squirrel hanging limp between the girl's jaws. "W...we...gotta. We got"- She stopped with a groan and wince, "Go now." RE: Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright (M) - Dread - May 18, 2018 He knew he shouldn't be leaving the race confines of the pack borders, not when the heavy stench of coyotes still hung around like a bad stink. But there was a restless itch in his paws that a short trip would surely fix. A myriad of thoughts were swirling in his head. A brief thought of the woman he had spent the night with had cropped up and though it felt like it was so long ago, it had been stuck in his head for two days now. Tenebrae hadn't seen hide nor hair of her since than and he wasn't particularly fussed for it. But a niggling part of him kept reminding him the last few days just when they had...met. Sure, it was the tail end of the season but perhaps something had come of it? So when a semi farmilar scent filled his nose as he prowled into some ghastly looking forest, his nose twitched and curiosity filled his chest. Maybe now was a good time to find out. Quietly, he ducked between the trees as he followed the scent on the air. Yet he paused by a trunk and peered around it, squinting slightly at the two wolves before him. The younger wolf had a squirrel in her mouth and the elder, the woman he had met before, was wincing in pain. And it was clear as to why. Her belly was swollen and even though logically, he knew it might not be his, something still within him clicked that she could be carrying his offspring. "Need some help?" Stepping out from behind the tree, Tenebrae kept his posture relaxed, his tail hanging by his ankles, trying to appear as unthreatening as possible. Maybe, if he played it right, he could get them to come back to the Draw, for their safety of course. Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - May 18, 2018 You realize that two coyotes have been following you. RE: Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright (M) - Nia - May 27, 2018 The young Hervok walked slowly behind the ghostly woman, mind racing with questions. She was still in great disbelief that her mother was alive and well...pregnant. Sometimes she wondered if they were both dead, wondering the afterlife alone together. Perhaps Daniel was with whom she was pregnant with? If that was how the afterlife worked. Probably not though. Made no logically sense. She sighed. Where was Neo? Was he alive and them dead? Or what? And if they were really alive...how were they to take care of this pup alone? Nia looked to Danica, lips scrunching up with furrowed brows. How did she not understand? Nia shook her head as her mother looked away. Was the woman that oblivious? She had just shown up, alive! And Neo was missing. How did all of this even work? What a world. Nia only seemed to discount from her daydreaming when her mother's pain became evident. The large yearling moved to Dani's side, dropping the now forgotten about squirrel. Worriedly she rushed out her words, "What do I do? Can you run?" The glare from the older beast was enough to silence the creamy girl with a small gasp. "Oh uh...that wasn't very smart...sorry Dani-Mom." "Need some help?" Nia looked to the dark stranger, tail tucked and head cocked, "At what cost?" RE: Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright (M) - Danica - May 27, 2018 (Marking this as M for the birth of Celica and a sibling that doesn't make it) Danica trudged forward biting the inside of her cheek as the pain increased, her steps growing short and slow. The mother's breathing became heavy, emerald eyes meeting her daughter's similar orbs. She couldn't help the snarl, was Nia kidding? Had Darios raised her an idiot? A low agitated growl rumbled forth but she stifled it. A sharp pain came from her abdomen sending the mother to her belly, legs buckling as she ungracefully landed on the ground panting. Here? Out in the open? Vulnerable? "I don't think I-" a cry of pain forced it's way out, "m-make...it...back." This was happening. Whether she liked it or not. What a fierce entrance into the world litter number three. Dani looked to the man as he entered, nodding her head. The pain was too great now for her to speak and tell them what she needed but the woman laid there focusing on her breathing and contractions. All the help offered was needed and of course she recognized him as her midnight Casanova. However this was not her first rodeo and she knew it would be okay. One two three...push. Danica instructed herself throughout the process, minutes ticking by. The birth seemed to take longer than it should. One two three push... Still there was no pup to show for her effort. The mother's breaths were heavy and tiresome, lips parted as she panted something awful. One two three.... Danica shrieked, a small form slipping into the world wet and cold. The mother quickly tucked it to her side, licking eagerly. The pup let out but one faint mewl before it's squirming ended. It felt as if to the beast her heart stopped, the tiny little lifeless pup much too small but fully formed. What is @Ninevea 's fault? She whined at the pup but the contractions were the only reply. Still frantic Dani nudged her baby over and over again, looking at her daughter and the male wolf occasionally. Nothing. But how? but why? The woman frowned deeply, tears lining her eyes. She couldn't dwell on this right now, the contractions were still happening and overly painful. This was not how this was supposed to go- her thoughts were interrupted as a stick broke nearby. A small form darted close by with another, the smell of coyotes hitting her nose and mixing with the fresh birth scent. The mother attempted a snarl but it was drowned out by another one of her own cries. One two three....one two three...The second pup entered the world more timely and was much larger and healthy, crying from the instant it hit the damp grass. Possessively the mother pulled the child close to clean it, inspecting the small pup. A little girl...The mother forgot about the first child for a moment as she cleaned this one and encouraged it to nurse. The pup was dark with the faintest hints of white on it's half dry pelt. It was beautiful, and loud, very loud. When the pup finally quieted to suckle it was rather aggressive causing the mother to chuckle at the greedy child. More movement drew the mother's attention away. She curled around the two pups, even the one that had not made it. Her eyes narrowed with a warning display of teeth. "Nia...I need you to protect us." Danica ordered, watching as a pair of coyotes made no attempt to hide their presence and stepped into view. They were not getting her babies. RE: Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright (M) BWP - Dread - May 28, 2018 Tenebrae winced at the obvious pain the mother was in and briefly turned away, towards the other wolf. While he wasn't unaware of how pups were brought into this world, this would be the first time actually being there for a birth. For a moment, he wondered if this was the girl her daughter? Though she had called her mum, there had been some hesitation. Maybe there was something going on? "There's no co-" But a shriek from Dani drew his attention back to her. A pup lay at her side, unmoving and still and she looked to be in quite a bit of distress. Shit, had something happened to the pup? This wasn't something he had ever came across so had no idea what to say or do. He opened his mouth to offer if he could do something, to go find some herbs or something. But he was cut off when the scent of the coyotes hit him too. God damn these fucking coyotes. They were running around everywhere weren't they? As his yellow eyes glanced over towards them, attention now fully turned towards the vermin, the woman let out another cry. But it didn't register to Tenebrae as the coyotes made themselves visible, clearly drawn in by the scent of blood and the cries of newborns. Snarling in warning as anger filled him, Tenebrae lurched forward with teeth bared. Even if he wasn't alone or perhaps thought for a few seconds about how this was a bad idea, something inside him was going to try teach these stupid things a lesson or two, even if it meant severe injury to himself. RE: Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright (M) BWP - Nia - May 28, 2018 She really couldn't make it back? Nia gulped, anxiously pacing in place as she watched her mother buckle down to the ground awkwardly. Was this even safe? There was no den! Nia had not seen anyone give birth before and had to look away multiple times for her own sake. In reaction to the quiet pup she merely whined and licked her mother's ear. She didn't know what to think about it, but one thing was for sure, they were not alone anymore and if the other pup was survive something needed to be done. Although nervous the girl's tail lifted over her back, teeth bared in warning. Danica's words gave courage to the yearling as the girl sprung forward to help @Dread in the fight. She aimed to attack whichever coyote he had not yet gone after. (Sucky post, sorry) RE: Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright (M) BWP - Dread - May 28, 2018 The coyotes seemed somewhat taken aback at the two wolves suddenly attacking and though there was still some courage in them - hunger did strange things to those who hadn't eaten in quite some time - at least one attempted to backpeddle a bit. Hungry they were yes but when the food was being actively protected? no thanks! Unfortunately, its friend thought the opposite and stood it's ground, baring it's own teeth as Tenebrae barrled down on it. The pair hadn't eaten in weeks and it wasn't about to turn tail and run from what could be an easy meal! it's smaller size gave it a fast advantage so it dodged to the right when the large dark wolf snapped at its neck. Yet it squealed and struggled as Tenebrae managed to catch it by the tail, shaking his head as a sickening crack sounded. Damn coyote, deciding not to run with its friend. Tenebrae sneered he kept his grip on the smaller canine's tail. Yet caught up in his anger, he didn't realise the damned thing had enough reach to squirm around and latch onto his shoulder. Letting out a howl of pain, he dropped the tail and tried jerking away from its sharp teeth that were embedded into his shoulder. But it held on, snarls emitting from deep in its chest. it wasn't about to give up yet. "you fucking-" Tenebrae growled before simply rolling onto the side with the coyote, hoping his weight would do something to get the parasite off him. RE: Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright (M) BWP - Nia - May 28, 2018 Nia watched as the coyotes seemed to become startled and shocked, one backing off just a little. She wasn't planning on relenting though, they were a threat to her mother and new sibling! They would show them just who the big bad wolf was! She stuck her tongue out at them for a moment before returning to her snarling façade. The other coyote had different plans thought and came forward, distracting the girl from the more timid coyote. It managed to latch onto the stranger's shoulder and was not letting him go. Growling she lunged forward to pull on it's ear harshly, metallic blood flooding her mouth. The taste alone a shock from another canine the girl let go in disgust and watched as the large male tumbled over onto the shrieking canine. Within all this chaos the other coyote had snuck about and was confronting a loud angry Danica. Nia whipped around and watched in horror as it attempted to grab at the pups, Danica protectively covering them with her head and neck laying over them. Nia barreled forward teeth bared. That dang thing was not getting her siblings!!! RE: Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright (M) BWP - Dread - May 28, 2018 The coyote that had latched onto his shoulder refused to let go and before he rolled, the young girl tried to get it off. But it held firm and she backed off, though for what reasons Tenebrae had no idea. He was simply focused on getting rid of the coyote off his shoulder and to stop the pain it was causing. It finally let go, letting out a shriek as the wolf's weight been making it hard to breath. Half of it had been caught under Tenebrae's weight, partly its chest and it kept trying to claw and bite at him to get him off. Already in pain and angry, this just enraged him further. Managing to put more pressure against the coyote, the wiggling canine beneath him stopped for a few moments. Even though it would still try to fight for its life, it had become light headed and was trying to gulp in air that just wasn't entering its lungs. Noticing it wasn't moving away quickly, Tenebrae quickly rose to his feet and adrenaline taking over for his injured shoulder, quickly went for its throat. The coyote's brain was still muddled and while trying to stand up to get away, it wasn't quick enough and its throat got caught in Tenebrae's jaws. Letting out another shriek, though this one was more like it was gurgling then before, it fought to get out of the sharp grip. But Tenebrae wasn't about to let go, keeping a firm grip and waiting for the breath in the smaller canine to finally cease. And after a short while, the struggling did become weaker and weaker until it ceased. Dropping the coyote to the ground, Tenebrae turned towards the others, seeing the other coyote trying to get to the pups but the other two were managing to keep it away. For now. |
