but it's not like christmas at all - Chan - Dec 09, 2021 Backdated to 12/7, immediately after @Moonshadow finds her way back to the Cove after having been missing from pack territory since the 3rd.
This is an official Pack Meeting being called by Chan. While he is hoping that everyone will be able to attend, there will be no IC repercussions for not joining. If your wolf is not present, however, please note that Chan will make it a priority to seek out your character and update them with the same information shared at this meeting; I would appreciate you contacting me if there is a reason your wolf cannot be on the same page, or if you would like to create a thread for this/discuss further.
As requested, we will be utilizing rounds for this meeting. I will be posting the next round on 12/19, then hopefully weekly thereafter until we are concluded. Wolves may come and go at any time as their writers see fit and/or have time; Chan will be remaining until everyone's questions & concerns are addressed.
For everyone's reference, I will maintain a list of details surrounding what is to be covered/ends up being covered. They are as follows:
Their frozen paws punched through ice and snow as they pressed their bodies onward against the cutting wind. The den was within sight, their safety was certain, but still Chan's heart was heavy. Already it had ached for the children who couldn't understand their mother's absence, yet still had to grapple with it's implications and consequences. He'd hated to think of what might be keeping not only Kip, but his niece as well, from their family. Now, after the scare of his own matriarch not coming home, then finding her half-frozen in this shit weather, Chan was haunted.
He'd seen a body turned to ice, lids all but closed and mouth agape to reveal a tongue snapped clean off, likely stolen by scavengers. To put either woman's face in place of the stranger's... He pressed closer against his mother, trying to be thankful while also trying to decide how to guide the pack through this. That was his role, wasn't it? He wished it was still Aleister's.
They reached ground that was tread down to hard, icy earth, their traffic so greatly wore down the snow that the sky repeatedly laid down. Chan barked, beckoning those that might be home before tilting back his head and sending out an urgent howl, the notes long and twisting as he translated his message into song.
Moon is back. We need to talk. Now. Please come home.
He then nudged his mother forward, toward the den.
"You need to get warm, Mom. Are you hungry?"
RE: but it's not like christmas at all - Nash - Dec 09, 2021 As the weather continues to grow colder, Nash was slowly starting to feel better. Whatever had hit him wasn't as serious as whatever had put Aleister down for so long, but it was long. At least he'd been able to keep half an eye on things and the pack didn't lose their guardian entirely - especially with the cat in the territory and three members of the pack missing. He was just getting up to search out Aquene when his brother's song caught his ears and he perked up. Mom! Turning his paws their direction, Nash picked up speed until he could see the two familiar shapes in the trees. "Mom!" he barked, gently nuzzling her before pressing up against her opposite Chan. She needed to warm up, and quickly. This was not the kind of weather to be alone in. Hint hint he thought to himself. RE: but it's not like christmas at all - Kajika - Dec 09, 2021 The Tallis man had taken notice of the fact his best friend's scent had disappeared from the territory. Not only that but he hadn't seen Moonshadow in some time. The worry he felt for her, the woman he'd known for so long, had brought to Fallen Tree Cove so long ago, caused his heart to hurt. He'd searched for her as much as his old body would allow without success. So when he heard his godson's call through the forest he hurried as fast as he could. It was times like this when he wanted to run through forest as he once had that his age really bothered him. Finally he found Chan with Moon and Nash was already there. Without hesitation he went to his friend brushing his cheek against hers, "I'm so glad your back," he told her in quiet tones, "I've been worried," he added before stopping back to give her and her sons some room. RE: but it's not like christmas at all - Aquene - Dec 09, 2021 [dohtml] But I put it out of my mind Long enough to call it courage To live without a lifelineAquene had been mixing a poultice because she had caught a bit of a cold when she heard the call, her head snapping up. Moon was back? She started to rush towards the scene, not thinking to grab anything because it did not occur to her that the other woman might be in ill form. When she arrived, she could practically feel the cold radiating off of her and concern lit her eyes. “Stay pressed against her, I have an herb that can help.” She explained before quickly taking back off. Luckily, the herbal den was not too far from the pack den, which made the trip quick. She quickly grabbed hellbore, aconite, and chaga mushrooms, quickly heading back carefully as she began to mix. “These will help with her blood circulation which should help warm her up faster, it’ll also slow her heart to protect her body while she warms up.” She explained to them out of habit. This was their mother, and she wanted to keep them informed about what she was doing in order to put them at ease with what she was giving their mother to eat. She would likely keep Moonshadow on the mushrooms at the very least for a few days to come because it would help boost her immune system and cognitive function after what was clearly a harsh set of circumstances. Too many from the pack had been falling on bad times lately. [/dohtml]RE: but it's not like christmas at all - Leo - Dec 10, 2021 [dohtml]

RE: but it's not like christmas at all - Jethro - Dec 14, 2021 The weather had taken a nasty turn as of late, and beyond that, a few of the pack’s members had gone missing. Among them, arguably, Jet’s closest friend. With each day that had gone by, the concern for their safety increased just a little bit, for each of them. This was a different type of worry than he’d felt during that stampede, too. At least there, they had been able to do something. In this situation, the dark one felt powerless, and that was frustrating. He did not like this form of worry very much. Even focusing on work or searching didn’t do much to ease those thoughts. It was a relief, then, to hear someone had returned. A summons was also issued, and something Jet immediately heeded. He set forth at a quick trot until a small gathering of others came into view, with most of the attention set on Moonshadow. And she.. did not look great. But at least she was alive, and being tended to by her sons and Aquene. That was good. Rather than add to the crowd, though, he would remain a dozen or so steps away, simply observing the scene for now. RE: but it's not like christmas at all - Siyet - Dec 14, 2021 Siyet had heard a commotion from the lake side where she spent most of her days. The sound seemed to come from the Cove, and she heard lots of familiar voices. She got up and went towards the voices until she saw the others gathering around Moonshadow. She had known that Moon had been gone for a while but wasn't entirely sure why. She looked around at all the others and saw a familiar face she knew well. She trotted over next to Jethro and saw him sitting on the edge of the crowd "Hello Jet, what's going on? Moon is back. Do you know where she was? RE: but it's not like christmas at all - Aleister - Dec 17, 2021 [dohtml] With the weather growing colder by the day, the amount of stress seemed to continue to pile upon the Vuesain male. After mostly recovering from his illness that bared him to his den this summer, the small pebble that fell from the mountain peak toppled south to try smother the Cove in an avalanche this winter. But the former leader kept trying to do his best in helping his family in every way that he could. Aleister had been feeling more himself leading into the winter months and thought largely on talking with Chan about reclaiming his leadership. However, it seemed his world stopped spinning on its axis when Kip turned up missing. Their relationship wasn't black and white, but no matter who they were to each other, he truly cared for her. She gave him three beautiful children and he vowed to protect her with every part of his being, but it seemed he was always deemed to fail. As he was returning back to the den from a border patrol and look out for the Cove's missing members, Chan's call rang out. Moon was home. Thanking the heavens upong, Aleister picked up the pace. He quickly arrived at the meeting place after a few others, seeing the Eastfall brothers pressed against their mother in hopes to quickly warm her up while Aquene dutifully provided herbs and advice. Spotting Leo a few paces away looking worried, he instantly went to his side pressing himself against his son's side. "Aunty Moon will be okay. She has Chan, Nash and Aquene taking care of her," he reassured softly next to his tawny ear. Flickering his mismatched gaze from his son over to Moonshadow, he tried to decipher how bad of shape she was in. RE: but it's not like christmas at all - Lynx - Dec 17, 2021 [dohtml] The wayward son was out kicking the snow trying not to wallow too deep into his thoughts. He couldn't go too far away from the center of the territory with everything that was happening. Missing mother, missing family all with a cougar stealing their food. He was couped up and he hated it. His frustration was building, and Lynx didn't know how to control it. So, kicking snow was the easiest outlet. Chan's call summoned him to the den, but the young pup stayed along the edges reluctant to leave the shadows until his father arrived. Quickly, the young Vuesain crossed the clearing and pressed himself along the vacant side of his agouti coat for comfort while his seafoam eyes looked upon the scene silently. His father told Leo Aunty Moon was going to be alright, so she should be. He couldn't be wrong about this. |
