Karpos Slayer
until you know what's inside it
His father had told him they had to move away from the scary wolves, and Karpos had objected at first, saying they should fight the scary wolves since that was their home, but then his da had told him that it was their home too, and he didn’t want Karp or Adsi to get hurt. So reluctantly they had started to travel, only traveling so far every so often, until his sister or he had gotten beat tired, they would stop and rest, then one of them would carry them by the scruff. It all depended on how far they moved. One simple gaze at the forest they had reached and one thought in it’s place, it was scary. Above all, it was scary, eerie feelings to it, the shadows seemed never ending and the trees looked like they could touch the clouds.
His father had been right beside him, and that comforted him. The young brute was already learning what it was like to travel with his family. He thought of Ana as his mother, since she was the one who was always caring for him. "Ma, I’m scared of this place!" He told the woman whom was his mother now. The energy he normally had running around the den and on the very outskirts, it was all put into walking, he hoped they would reach the place soon. Pella, Ace, and Shade the heroes were with them, ever since they had scared away the one scary wolf, they were heroes in his mind. Lach, who seemed to hang out with his ma a lot was there too, and so was a strange man, but da seemed alright with him, so Karp was too. It was all so strange, everything that was happening, everyone seemed so fine with it. Karp just thought it was weird.

RE: Traveling Far and Wide - Shade - Jun 25, 2013

They had started off a few days after that man went for Karpos and Adsila, and had stormed off. They could travel little bits every day, and so they would. Karpos had taken the lead, and the worried father was right next to him, his eyes scanning the forest, Karpos was scared of this place, but Shade thought of it as very similar to Spectral Woods. "Do not be scared my son, we’re here to protect you." He whispered to his son, looking back at the group. His tail waving hesitantly from side to side, his eyes glancing cautiously around the area. This was a weary place, and eerie place. It reminded him a lot of Spectral Woods, the darkness, and he hoped the other side was lighter.
He would not let his children be raised in the darkness. It must have been so scary, when he was their age all that he saw was blobs, and that was probably what his children saw, blobs. Part of him wanted to stop and settle here for the night. Just get to the den of this forest and we’ll be alright, we’ll find a place to hang out, and a place to call home. This place is going to be good for us. He had to keep telling himself they would conquer the darkness and find a suitable home. This home would be amazing, and their children would love it, they could and would travel as far and wide as they needed to get there, to go home.

RE: Traveling Far and Wide - Anastasia - Jun 25, 2013

I didn't get the tag for this, but I stumbled upon it! <3
Anastasia stood close to everyone, not wanting to become separated from anyone. Though she might not really know a couple of the wolves here, she knew she would in time. Ana was also sure that they must know who she was, since she was taking care of the two most precious things the pack held at the moment. Karpos took the lead in most of their journey, as kids they were wanting to zoom off in front but the territory that was coming up wasn’t exactly the brightest. She knew that the children might not take too kindly to it but she was watching from every direction.
The only thing that seemed to deter her from watching every corner of the Copse was the iteration of ‘Ma’ that she realized was directed at her. Her eyes lit up for a moment out of admiration and confusion, so she quickly looked to Shade as if asking him if it was alright for him to call her that or if she should correct him and tell him that it was just ‘Ana’. “It’s alright,” she said while lowering her head and putting her muzzle next to his form, “it’s probably more scared of you than you are of it.” She smiled, almost always forgetting that these weren’t her own kids. She sure wished they were but she was content with just taking care of them and making sure they always felt safe, comfortable and well-fed. That was what she was here for.

Capella followed the wolves who made up her family, allowing her dandelion eyes to fall upon each body. First there was Shade, who found her and took her in. She owed every bit of this to him, for without his acceptance she might have died out there. Yellow touched upon the white coat of Anastasia, who would soon be her alpha. The colorless wolf had already earned much of Capella's respect. She took care of the future generation, all while being an active member, both things that their previous superior could not. Even little Karpos had taken to calling her Ma. The rest fell into place inside her mind. Lach, Ill, Adsi, and Ace. All vital members to the pack, and all wolves that she loved. As they passed through the woods, she continued looking back. She was going to miss the mist, and the fog; Even the spirits inhabiting the forest. A sigh found it's way through her lips as she promised herself to visit her old home every once in a while.
Traveling was a slow process as they had to keep stopping to let the puppies rest, and she offered on more than one occasion to carry them part of the way. The farther they walked the darker it became. Under the cover of trees they walked across the wet soil, sinking in every so often. To the outside world the dilly woods didn't seem the ideal place to raise a pack, but the basic facts remained. There was plenty of water, sustaining life in the area. The wet ground would prevent their enemies from being very stealthy, and the lack of wolves in the area, or packs for that matter, would keep them safe.

Ill traveled quietly from behind, so silent that at points in time he thought the rest of the pack all but forgot he was here. Some faces were familiar, but most were strangers that left the young wolf without conversation. The copse was unnerving as it had ever been. Thoughts traveled back to when he had first made the trek through this wretched place. The familiarity was there but didn't make the journey better at all, and as Ill gazed about he seemed to notice the shadows and creepy sounds even more. A cold shiver greeted his spine.
From the back, the image of Shade could be seen leading in the front. Ill noted how brave he was, and how much he preferred bringing up the rear then facing whatever lied in ahead. The group gave him more confidence that he had had in a long time, but not by much. Eyes still wandering, he searched again for Capella. Though they had just met, her personality had put a spell on the ashen creature and the thought of her buzzed in his mind from time to time. She was his first friend and only wolf he felt comfortable around as of now.
Listening to the conversation of the pup and his mother, or so Ill assumed, almost drowned out the rustling of leaves from somewhere in the foliage. Ill's ears pricked up, panicked eyes looked about for the source but came to no avail; all that greeted him was the greedy, grasping branches from every tree. If they were being followed, he was sure someone would of picked up on it before him. Or was he the most cautious of them all; anxiety began to brew in his gut. Continuing on, he couldn't help the twitching of his eyes to the thicket in back of him.

RE: Traveling Far and Wide - Lachesis - Jun 26, 2013
[dohtml]
They were a strange family – a group of misfits who had stumbled upon each other when each wolf had needed someone there for them – but they were his family. Anastasia, who had been his traveling partner and closest confidant, now played an important role within the group – since Shade’s mate had left, she had assumed the role of ‘mother’ to his children. The boy had fallen right into place among the wolves, and was excited to finally be a part of a pack where he felt he truly belonged. Weaving his way through the wolves, Lachesis nipped Capella affectionately on the ear, pausing beside her for a moment to nuzzle her neck before making his way up to his blue-eyed friend.
Just as he had gotten used to the foggy woods, they were leaving – but this meant Shade had finally found some place to establish as their own. It also meant getting away from the wolves who inhabited the nearby land as Lachesis knew that the safety of the pup’s was the first priority of the group. Pressing his shoulder to Ana’s, the boy offered her a warm smile, his gaze meeting hers for a moment before landing on Karp, who was leading the way alongside his father. His companion’s gaze was focused on the children, seldom wavering from them unless to survey the surroundings. Lachesis had been a frequent visitor to the old den, half of the time to keep his friend company, and the other half was to play with the puppies.
The land before them was growing familiar, the group remaining quiet as they trekked forward. His pear gaze kept flicking behind him to glance back at Capella, a lop-sided grin perched neatly against his dark lips. This was all so new to the youth – he had only ever known the Reserve and travelling with Anastasia. The place they were traveling to was going to be his home, and these wolves were now his family.

With comfort from Shade and Ana, he looked at it, smiling but still scared. He had to stay strong for his sister and for the others, even though they were plenty strong without him. "Well, let us get through this then!" He said with and excited tone, looking back and seeing their faces, Capella and Ill, Lachesis and all the others too. Adsila and Ace, everyone, they were his family. Capella, Ill, Ace, Lachesis, they were his aunts and uncles to him. Ana was his ma and Shade his da, Adsila was his sister, all family. His tail wagged really fast as he ran forward into the darkness of the forest, the dark man running into the forest which was also dark was probably not the best since he was still a pup and would probably hide.
A giggle as the forest was more scared of a pup than the pup was of it; he went leaping though the blobs that was trees and thickets. He hoped his sister and all the adults were following him before he got lost… again. His vision was already clearing though; he could tell the sizes of the blobs compared to everything looking the same. For example, the blob that was his sister was smaller than the blob of the adults. Everything was just so grand, he had a family protecting him, even though he lived as a lone wolf, he had what was practically a pack already around him, a group of nomads traveling to the final destination where they would raise a pack. His father being the leader, the founder next to his ma who was the leader too. It was awesome to be truthful, he wondered why his sister and him were the only ones though.

He was off again, into the darkness ahead of them, his eyes calm as he ran after his son who seemed so suddenly eager to get into the dark forest he had been afraid of a few moments ago. "Karp! Wait up for us!" He called out to him, his dark fur bellowing from his speed, he was much faster than his son and he caught up to him, rolling his eyes a bit as his son thought that he was ahead by far. "You gotta wait for everyone else Karp!" He said to the puppy. He was fine with Karp calling Ana ‘ma’ because she was his mother, not his birth mother, but still the one who cared for him. The man was lucky that none looked like Rose; it would have hurt him too much.
Now that he had caught up to his son and had him stop, he awaited the rest of the group to catch up to where they were. His eyes calm, staring at his son, who was like a replica of him, just smaller, and he would grow to be the same bubbly personality and same hunters build as his birth mother had, as Shade’s love had, as Rosealia had. His heart ached once more, for her, he wanted her back. The others had a bad view of her, but they didn’t know her, she had to have had an extremely good reason for leaving. He figured that no reason is more important than her children, but he would see if she ever returned to him.

RE: Traveling Far and Wide - Anastasia - Jun 28, 2013

From the move from Spectral Woods she realized that there were fresh faces that she would have to get to know. If Shade was going to entrust her with the position of Lead Female for a while, she felt it might be obligatory that she know who the members were. Capella she already knew and adored, that much was obvious—even if she did feel a slight rift in her relationship with XIX, she forced herself to believe it would be alright. Then there was another wolf that followed close to Capella, a monochrome male that appeared close to her age.
Of course then there was Lachesis, the one that had gotten her here in the first place. He was the one who had suggested they take a look there and until Reaper had given them the go-ahead to venture to other packs, she hadn’t given it a thought. Now that she had and Shade had put his faith in her to protect his two precious children, she was entirely grateful for his trust.
Shade had given her an indefinite hope that one day she could have her own children and find love in wonderful form. Her best friend bumped her shoulder lightly, smiling and instantly melting her a little, she couldn’t help but feel the comfort and electricity from his presence. In response, she bumped his shoulder back and grinned. This was a good start for the two of them, she was sure that just like herself he was buzzing with anticipation.
Within just a few moments it would seem that Karpos was in a hurry to get to their final destination. A certain wave of worry passed over her as the young boy suddenly went bounding ahead of them, a whimper crossing her features as she began to canter forward. Shade was quicker than she was, running full speed ahead of them so that he could catch up with the youngster.
Although he was still within sight range of their gathering, Ana didn’t want to risk something snatching him up. Sighing, the moment of worry passing through her in an unsettling motion, she turned to look at Lachesis and gave him a half-smile. Kids.

Lachesis nipped at her ear and she bumped him with her shoulder as usual. Nuzzling against his head for a quick second she watched his form pull farther ahead up to Anastasia. A smile crossed her lips and she was happy that they had each other. Whenever they were together, the pair seemed so happy. In fact everybody here had someone, aside from the newest member to their ranks. She didn't know much about him yet, only that there were wolves out there somewhere looking for him, and that he had pretty bad anxiety. Capella hadn't even thought of how the move was effecting him, was he alright with it, or was he stressed out over it?
Pale paws padded toward the dark male, falling into step beside him. She let her side brush against him, hoping to give him a bit of comfort if he was feeling anxious. She made a mental note to speak with him later, but for now she just smiled. Everything was going to be alright, so long as her little family stayed together. Eventually she would break him out of his shell, or at least she hoped, and get to know the wolf hidden underneath the anxiety. Capella let her mind wander in and out as the group moved together as one unit. She thought of each wolf here, and where the future would be taking them. Happiness rained upon her, as she tried to forget the fact that they were leaving the foggy woods she loved so much.
