Mari had no intentions of stopping him, of going back on her words and apologising as though she'd done something wrong. She hadn't. It was all an exercise in futility, he said vs she said. Boring and pathetic, Mari had a hundred other things she'd rather do than play nice with this boring ass bastard.

"Get lost!" She spat, venom seeping for her words. A growl rumbled in the back of her throat as her eyes narrowed into even thinner slits as she watched him leave, it was only when he vanished out of sight did the tension sag for him shoulders like deflated balloon. "And good fucking riddance."
