Vaken used his shoulder to shove a coyote away. He wasn’t too strong, but he managed to make the vermin fumble a few feet. That was all he need. Turning sharply, Vaken made a break for it. He sprinted through the woods, following Ferrieran for a few meters, then turning.

He had no interest in continuing the fight. He was too tired and hungry to keep up the aggression. His body was weak and sore, he knew fighting was bad idea. Running was even difficult, his breathing was laboured and his shoulder was tender. He gave a mental curse, annoyed with himself for the day’s activities. He didn’t slow down his pace until he was far away, leaving the territory and the coyotes behind him.
