He smiled at the other male collapsed on the ground, panting hard. Ferreiran was panting too but stayed on his feet, sinking into a sitting position. He raised one paw to his mouth, and licked it, trying to pick out a beetle that had somehow managed to lodge itself between his claws. He crunched it between his teeth. He didn't mind beetles as a little snack, though they definitely weren't a meal. "I don't know." he replied. "I'm sure I'll find something to eat, and I'd like to keep moving. See what I can see, you know." He nodded firmly to himself, before turning and walking away. His voice sounded strange in his ears. He was sure he'd never talked this much in his life. That was what friends did to you, he guessed. He quickened his pace a little, to a trot he could hold for hours.
