scars remind us who we are

As she introduced herself, her tail began to sway back in forth when he grinned back at her. When she first became leader, it was hard to get used to the subtle dips of the head and tails being lowered in her presence, but now having been a leader for a little less than a year, she got used to it. She almost expected it at times, well with her own members of course, but it never hurt when strangers respected you as well. Most wolves knew the pecking order and being leader meant you were on top. Athena couldn’t complain. However, freedom was the cost.

Ace’s simple compliment brought another smile onto her face and her luscious tail waved harder. “Thank you, Ace. I was named after my mother’s best friend, who became my godmother.” Before she died, she thought, but decided not to add. Her mother’s best friend meant everything to her mother, so when the woman unexpectedly died, she was crushed. Athena say firsthand how her mother dealt with that loss and a part of her own self died that day as well.

At Ace’s polite answer, she smiled and met his grey eyes, “Well, I’m glad that I was one of the first wolves that you’ve met so far. I’m sure you’ll meet many more. The Lore has many wolves to meet; some good while others not so much.” Shadowstorm and all of pack of imbeciles on the mountain for example made up the not so good category. Athena has met many wolves in her time here and she planned on meeting many more. With his next question, her fiery eyes looked back at him, a small smile appearing on her face once again. “I’ve been here for a long time. This winter marks over a year now.”

RE: One of Those Nights - Ace - Mar 13, 2013

I feel kinda sick right now b/c I just got two vaccine's in my arms. So my next few posts may be short and widely spaced apart.

At Ace's complimet, he saw Athena smile. It was true. Her sleek, white fur almost glowed in the night, and her fiery amber eyes showed courage and kindness. Nodding at her words, the grey male smiled as his own sister was named after their aunt, Jasmine Moon Caravello. For just a moment, his face fell into a frown. For everyone but his sister had been killed when a large group of rogue's decided to attack his family. From then on, he had left his birth pack to find his sister who had been seperated from him during their flight.

Flicking his ears, Ace pushed the thoughts away and looked back to Athena just as she spoke again. His tail swayed back and forth at her words, for he was glad that he had met her, too. She seemed like a very friendly wolf, not afraid of strangers even if they were larger and stronger than her. The grey male liked that in females seeing as most females he met cowered when he introduced himself. Even if he tried his hardest to be comforting. Just because a wolf looked menacing, it didn't mean they were. Usually.

These thoughts reminded him of his older brother, Ken. His brother was exactly the height that Ace was now. But back then, he had seemed huge. Ken had always wanted all of the attention, so they had never really gotten along well, as most of the time Ken used physical force to get his way. Ace had always come away from a scuffle with Ken with bruises, bites and scratches. Although they had never gotten along very well, Ace was still distraught at his apparent death. Just like he was with all of his other deceased relatives.

Giving an inaudible growl, Ace shook his head slightly to clear his mind. He flicked his light grey eyes back to Athena, and when the white fae responded to his question, the grey male smiled yet again. So Athena had been here for a while. Clearing his throat with a soft cough, Ace spoke. "Have you any direct family in Relic Lore?" So far, Ace had been searching for his sister, but hadn't found her so far. He hoped that she was in the Lore, for otherwise he would never find her.

she nourishes the poison in her veins

It didn’t take long for him to ask her another question of her life her in the Lore. One could only call it polite conversation, but part of her didn’t want to answer his question. Her direct family was practically died to her, literally and metaphorically. “No, I don’t. My pack is my only family here,” she answered, however, keeping to her polite nature. It was true, though. The only one that she could consider family that was not inside of her pack was perhaps Nina, Ash’s sister. They had gotten off on the wrong foot, but now everything was much better between them. They were finally allies.

Her inquisitive amber eyes looked at him once again as she spoke her thoughts out loud. “You know, if you’re looking for a family, you’re more than welcome to come to me. We’d love you to become part of the family,” she stated, a genuine smile evident on her face. Poison Path needed loyal wolves and Ace seemed to be just that. However, she couldn’t judge a book by its cover like she had so many times before. It was about time for her to get back, though; her members might be getting worried about her sudden disappearance. Walking towards the grey male, she bumped the side of his maw gently, before playfully nipping at his ear. “It is about time for me to get back. It was nice to meet you Ace and I hope I see you again.” With one last bump, she turned back towards where her kingdom was and returned to her awaiting family.

At Athena's polite words, “No, I don’t. My pack is my only family here,” Ace gave a solemn nod of his head. He knew how it felt to have no relatives, for he had seen a few of his die right in front of his eyes. But she had her pack, and he was hoping that he still had Jasmine. Tears threatened to spill from his eyes, but he quickly blinked them away. He never liked to project his emotions towards other wolves, with an exception of his sister. She always brought out the best in him, even during the hard times.

The grey male almost started when the white fae spoke again. It took him a few moments to register what she had said. He gave a tight smile, before speaking himself. "It would be an honour to join your pack, but I fear I must decline. I am looking for my lost sister, but afterwards I may come back." That was the extent of his words, for it was likely that he would return. Hopefully with his sister in tow.

When the white fae walked up to him, gently bumping his maw and nipping playfully at his ear, he smiled. Ace would miss Athena, for she was a wonderful fae. Beautiful, and kind. "Farewell for now Athena, for it is likely that I will pass through here again." The grey male watched as Athena retreated back to her territory. When she was out of his sight, he turned around and looked up at the starry sky once more before walking forwards. Ace would keep looking around the Lore until he met another wolf, or his sister.
