RE: Waste Away - Vespertio - Mar 09, 2015

Eventually Primrose managed to make it to the small gathering of fish and wasted no time in grabbing one for herself. A low rumble rose in the back of his throat as a warning that she was out of line, opting out of using teeth to put her into check for now. A skeleton of a wolf would surely break beneath his bite. Not until she had managed to gain some weight would he use these harsh methods to keep her in line. For now she was getting by with a slap on the wrist for eating before him. "The name is Vespertio, by the way." He offered his name after realizing she had not asked nor had he shared it yet. Lowering his own head to the collection of unfrozen water her snapped up a fish for himself, mimicking her actions by placing a paw on the head to keep it still while his canines dug into the top of its head to end its life swiftly. Unlike her he was not in a state of starvation. He could take the extra time to kill the easy meal and enjoy the taste of the blood and meat on his tongue. Tearing the butter like meat from the millions of tiny bones he swallowed each bite until nothing but the skeleton remained once he was through. It was time they headed back.

Glancing at the woman beside him working on a second fish a brief chuckle left his lips before lifting his head to glance at the now dark sky, millions of tiny dots littering the heavens with their faint light. It was definitely time to head back now. "Come. It's time to go." He spoke while his body once more turned away from her phantom like form after nudging her shoulder to apply the pack scent to her brittle pelt, paws beginning to head for the borders that lined his home, his kingdom. The night still held the possibility to hold more adventure for the restless patriarch. For now the adventure of adding another number to the pack was done, the chapter finished and a new one beginning. Silently he traversed over the terrain until his silhouette became one with the pine trees and their shadows. His job was done for one night.

RE: Waste Away - Hexamora - Mar 09, 2015

No time and the first fish was devoured and sat within the pit of her stomach and it was only the sound of the man's growl of warning that caused her pink tinted lips to lift from her meal. In her years of being a loner she had forgot the laws that kept a pack in line. With his growl in her ear she soon realized that she was in the wrong for eating before him. Mentally she didn't give a rats ass that she ate before him, but now that she was apart of his pack she would have to follow the rules set up. That meant no eating before him and making sure she didn't show any sign of dominance around him. That was going to be a real bitch. It was then that she decided she would only keep herself in check around him. For the others in the pack she didn't care. He was the only one that mattered when it came to staying on the good side.

Flattening her ears against the back of her skull acknowledging his warning she resumed to eating, fishing out a second fish from the pool and began to devour what it offered. The flesh pulled so easily off the bones making this the easiest meal she had ever came across and made a note to really pick up the art of hunting these things for future meals. Not even half way into that fish though the man spoke beside her saying something about his name being Vespertio before continuing to say it was time to go. At least now she had a name to put to his face. Glancing at the pool of water then to the agouti man she contemplated snagging one for the road but dismissed the idea since it would slow her down having to carry it. Following in his footsteps once more a slight pep filled her paws. She had a belly full again and now a place to temporarily stay until she was fit to travel again. Life was looking up for the woman.

End.
