hands held high into the sky so blue - Sven - Mar 22, 2017
All welcome. Sven is howling to announce his newly-won leadership of the Ridge. Backdated to 3/12, immediately after this thread.
[dohtml][/dohtml] @Renier faded from his view, off as he'd said to find @Bojack and Nimble, and with him and his out of place comportment, the excitement of achievement began to melt over him once more. He'd really done it. The Ridge was his now, the power all within his paws to stop the deterioration and bring it back to its former glory and out of the reach of those who would only continue to fail. @Enoki was now his only equal, and despite the rough waters of their relationship, there was always one thing that had stood to the piebald woman's benefit: she had never left, not once during his two years of life. And of course, now she bore @Nicolò's children, their newest generation of Archers. Hopefully, she would prove a mother like Elettra, and not any of the others that had graced the willows. That too, he could help to ensure now, however. Even if she abandoned them, let him down too, he would do as he had with @Attica and no one could tell him no, as he had so feared his grandmother might do the night he'd brought his darling sister home. Attica. Would she be proud of him? What of @Ravenna, what would her thoughts be? He wouldn't delay any further in finding out. Tipping back his skull, he sent out a victorious song, announcing what had occurred. RE: hands held high into the sky so blue - Enoki - Mar 23, 2017 [dohtml] Enoki Ashrelle
It was no secret to the magpie matriarch that a major shift was happening on the male side of the hierarchy chain, something that had come to be a common occurrence for Willow Ridge since Enoki could remember. Not once could she recall the male ranks remaining stable for any long stretch of time, the lead position exchanging paws faster than one could blink an eye at. Even now with their numbers low despite the recent addition of two more bodies, it was only a matter of time before another shift shook the pack. Hell, was it not just days ago the pale Archer boy; now a man, challenged the sire of her unborn cubs and won? Catching wind of Nicolo's defeat had left a sour taste in the dappled woman's mouth, a gnawing sense of worry ebbing away at her stomach that couldn't be passed off as the growing lives within her womb too young in their development to inflict such sensations. While she was the matriarch of the Ridge now and had every right to bear offspring, Nicolo was nothing more than a subordinate in the eyes of the others and one that danced on thin ice ready to give way and send the man tumbling to the bottom. Fear of the remaining men retaliating against the deed he had done never wandered far. She knew Renier had not taken the news well and the magpie had no idea how Sven saw this either despite his efforts of keeping the Lyall at bay during the beginning of the season. What if it was all but a trap meticulously planned to oust the couple when the timing was right? How far could her power stretch to protect the man she loved? For a split moment, ebony ears splayed back against the woman's skull when Sven's victory cry echoed through the frozen willows, mixed emotions flooding her. Genuinely a part of her was proud of the pale wolf for succeeding in what he had set out to do, another anxious to witness what he would do now with this new found sense of power at his disposal after dethroning Renier like a throttlebottom. Huffing out her negative feelings her head slowly tipped back to aim for the skies above, jaws parting to release a congratulatory howl in response. A new era for Willow Ridge had definitely begun.
