i'm a little bit ditzy - Chamomile - Feb 20, 2018

For @Nalda || Takes place at memorial mound it just isn't in the drop down

The small male was exhausted after all of his bounding through the glen and forest. His spirits were still high, though! The meeting with Seven had motivated him to keep heading south. It seemed he would be running into more wolves if he headed south. That was if he headed south in the right direction. He could always turn around and go find this Shallows Edge that the younger boy had talked about.

Once he managed to escape his thoughts, Chamomile realized he had no idea where he was. The fog around him was terribly thick even for the late morning. His eyes squinted as he tried to make out the trees in front of him. He had to nimbly keep dodging each one as they closed upon him.

That was until they seemed to thin out until they were no longer there. The fog and mist seemed to lighten up the slightest bit as he examined the lush grass underneath his damp paws. He kept moving forward with his head down, the ground raising without him even knowing it.

He would have kept strolling had the stones not caught his attention. His head raised and green eyes widen with surprise at the skull there. It was rather grand, large antlers attached and all. "Whoa..." Chamomile whispered in a breathy tone.

She was so bored and jittery lately! Having finally given up on her foolish search, she was left to stalk the Bend borders, again trying to project the image of loyal subordinate. But it was a drag! At least her stupid weakness had given her something to do; Other than watch pups..! And even that wasn’t much of a thing anymore, the Donata litter having grown so big. They would be yearlings soon and able to finally offer a helping paw around here, rather than just mouths to feed; Small comforts… She’d almost rather they were still trolling about, causing trouble and trying to cross the border without permission, at least then she would have an excuse to give them a good smacking. But no, nothing at all to do for the antisocial second.

Even her frequent hunting excursions had grown too dull for her quick mind. It was all too easy, follow the usual paths, keep your head low, paws quiet and snap, one more bunny for the caches; Stupid things never bothered to move away. Actually they only seemed to be getting less observant, more caught up in each other, it seemed, than their surroundings; Spring is in the air..! She sneered, giving the hare one extra shake for good measure. Like with all other things at the moment, Nalda was not at all pleased with this prospect.

During these grumbling thoughts, he was on her way home with this latest catch. That was until, passing through the Memorial clearing her and Kyna had first discovered over a year before, she heard a voice. Stopping in place, she turned, squinting through the fog at the muddy figure standing at the top of the mound. Tilting her head ever so slightly, she turned an oversized ear, quietly letting the hare drop to the snowy grass; “Y’like tha’do you?”

His eyes never drifted away from the skull, not even when the voice called out to him with a strange accent. Chamomile's tail swayed easily behind him as a smile formed on his face. "Yeah, it's pretty neat. Never seen anything like it." The small male's usually energetic tones were soft today, tiredness could be found in his voice if one focused enough.

Finally, he pulled his eyes away from the scene of the skull as he looked to find who had spoken to him. There was a rough silhouette of a leg-full wolf, with large ears easy to spot on top of their crown. His smile and swaying tail never ceased. Chamomile was welcoming of all kinds of company. "Do you know how it got here?" He motioned with his nose to the skull on the snowy ground. His own head gave a small tilt to the left even, his ears creeping forward with interest.

He wondered (and slightly hoped!) if this would be another interaction like he had with the Edge wolf. The male was terribly curious about the place he had found himself. Especially since a mere day trip south had him in a place far different than the Glen up north.
