reverberate - Nineva - Aug 06, 2018

At the mouth of the den she called, a firm and commanding song that carried throughout the territory. It was clear in her tone that there was no time to waste, she needed the packs attention now. When the call ended her heavy paws took her back toward her subordinate and daughter. The Keep lead had to fight the urge to pace. Perhaps this could be fixed, but judging by who this pack was allied with, she was not too optimistic that they could be reasoned with. They could be as arrogant and rash, could be on their way with teeth bared the moment the other had returned.

"How badly did you hurt her?" Nineva asked as she waited for the others to gather, praying to the ancestors that Judas hadn't killed.

RE: reverberate - Neha - Aug 06, 2018

[dohtml]

It was by more chance than luck, that Neha had been close by. Easily within earshot, in fact. She was tucked away deep in the farthest recesses of the infirmary chamber, meticulously going over the remaining supply of herbs. So far, none had needed replenishing, for the Keep had not needed the assistance of medicine aside from Nineva's birth. As she heard the murmuring voices of Judas and her leader, paired with the stench of wolf blood, that all changed.

Her mood grew tempestuous as she listened to their conversation in silence, chocolate eyes narrowed threateningly. First the quarrel with the Surge and now this? The events with Driftwood had been nothing but a skirmish...but this was much more serious. Blood of one of their own had been shed, even if Judas did admit to being the first to attack. The Shallows wolf seemed to have come out worse for wear, by the way it sounded to her ears. Still, there was no changing the damage that had been done.

Only seconds after Nineva urgently summoned the pack to gather, Neha emerged from the darkened tunnel that led to the infirmary. Clutched in her jaws was a small bundle of herbs. Judas didn't sound like he was too seriously wounded, but armed with her medicinal knowledge, Neha wanted to play it safe. Her expression dark, eyes serious, she deposited the dry plants at her feet. "Yarrow for your wounds...and to prevent infection. I've also brought along some Arnica for ointment...just in case." There were few wolves the pale agouti female was close to, but she felt something of a kinship with the dark yearling. Gently, she bumped his cheek with her nose. "What did she look like? Did you get a name?" She pressed, brows pinching. The more intel they could get, the better.

Ramiel ARCHER
I don't believe in no devil,
'cause I done raised this hell

Ramiel had found a nice quiet place to get out of the summer heat and he may have dozed off. If he did he surely wouldn't be admitting to it any time soon. His leisurely time was interrupted by his queens call as it sounded through the territory. It sounded rather urgent but Ramiel didn't rush to his feet nor did he bound away toward the pack den.

He made his way on his own time and arrived soon enough. He didn't know why they were being called but he gave a respectful dip of his head to his queen. He then went to settle himself and wait to hear the reason they had been called so unexpectedly.

RE: reverberate - Judas - Aug 07, 2018

The situation had escalated far quicker then he had thought it would. Though a scrap with another pack wolf just seemed like a natural run in for him it was becoming clear now serious it was. With already having one enemy to the west they didn't need another. They could be ganged up on, run out and yet Judas still felt caught in between, not wanting to kiss ass to the other surrounding packs just to survive happily.

Black ears still fallen against his skull, the youth's attention never left his lead. "I um... I don't know. I ran at her and knocked her onto the ground pretty hard. Got ahold of the side of her scruff by her neck. That's when she turned and bit down on me. It happen to fast and after I got her onto the ground, it was wet and muddy and she slipped free and took off." He spoke, fully explaining what all had happened in the quick fight. To be honest he had not expected to have hurt her that badly and still wasn't certain how much he had or not with her quick retreat. He was used to rough housing pretty intensely with his brothers at times and had fought off by now many a coyote yet he had not quite realized the strength behind his adult form.

Neha came and quickly, likely being in the infirmary which connected to the main den by a small tunnel just like did nursery. Besides Nineva whom was his Leader and he had grown a liking to, as well as his brother, it was Neha who he could consider a friend. Maybe Judas was just a bit sexist towards his own gender, but he seemed to favor the company of his older female companions then the men in the ranks. She touched her nose to his cheek, affectionate, concerned. She had seemed a bit of a loner when he met her, distant and all business though their friendship her grown since the founding of the pack. "Not a name... An adult, a little bit shorter then me but looked heavier. Creamy colored, darker forhead and brown ears... Bright yellow eyes."

By now his brother had arrived and a sheepish, guilty smile pulled over his expression as he watched him settle down for the meeting. Silence fell over him for the time being, awaiting judgement.

RE: reverberate - Yuka - Aug 11, 2018

[dohtml]

He had been half tempted to come over once the initial call for Nineva had rung out over their lands, but he forced himself to remain on border patrol. After all, anything that was pack related and that was his sister's business was then also his, right? The large creamy russet-hued man had no strayed from his course and remained on track to complete the loop of the borders. Besides, the Keep did not want one of their neighboring packs to think they could accidently cross the borders again when they were so clearly marked. Idiots.

Yuka could no longer ignore his curiousity though, when Nineva's voice rang clear across the forest, calling a impromptu meeting. The Left Hand was quick to change direction his paws thundering against the dirt ground as he came closer to the meeting area. When he neared, the large man slowed down, amber teal-flecked eyes gazing around to look at those gathered before landing on his sister and giving her a brief head nod in acknowledgement.

RE: reverberate - Aleister - Aug 15, 2018

aleister vuesain

The rogue took to border patrol easily as this kept him moving and less likely for him to have to speak with anyone. With the recent skirmish with the Surge wolves, it was in their best interest to keep the borders well marked and a body patrolling throughout the day in case they foolishly decided to do it again. This time there would be no mercy from their monochrome leader and the whole pack would be ordered upon them, however, he wasn't fully committed to harming another unless they tried to harm his sister.

Aleister didn't quite feel he belonged within the Keep just yet. Perhaps, it was more due to his anti-social tendencies where he would rather be alone than bonding with packmates. The only Keep wolf he truly cared for was his sister and the male couldn't leave her side, even though he wasn't truly happy here. Though, the rogue doubted he would truly ever be happy anywhere.

The monochrome Queen called for the pack as he was finishing up patrol on the other side of the territory. As soon as he could, he traveled to her call, his mismatched gaze taking the group that had already assembled when he finally arrived. He moved towards his sister's side, though taking a silent seat a little further behind her. Nodding respectively towards Nineva, the agouti Vuesain settled upon his haunches as he listened to the conversation that was passing between the Keep wolves already.

RE: reverberate - Nineva - Oct 09, 2018

Neha, as on top of things as always, was the first to arrive. Clearly, she'd already been on her way, as she towed two specific florae that would help with Judas' wound. When this was over, Nineva would help to clean and tend to the injury, but for now, well; he could bare through it.

"Thank you, Neha," she voiced her appreciation for the practiced woman quietly as others filtered in and Judas gave his answers. From the sounds of it, the girl probably wasn't any worse off than Nineva's queensguard, meaning she'd lose a bit of blood but not in any danger; unless something else got to her before she made her way home.

Her eyes turned to the pack; their queen would not leave them wondering for long.

"Without justice, courage is weak," she reiterated the pack's founding motto, voice and gaze holding more fire than usual. It was clear that the greyscale queen was not pleased.

"You were all to keep that truth in mind starting the day we made our home here, but it seems to have been forgotten in the face of our piss-ant neighbors. Their words are nothing but hot air, and their threats will not move us to act unnecessarily. We respond only to action, lest we make a bloody mess out of one man's tantrum. The Surge pack is to be left alone. Their allies are to be assumed neutral to us until their leadership makes it clear otherwise."

She had begun pacing as she laid out these decrees, and only now closed her strides and became still. Something of a sigh worked its way out of her muzzle before she continued.

"I should have made this clear sooner, rather than assuming you would all have the same understanding. I take blame for that, and for Judas' altercation," her eyes drifted to him briefly, aiming what was something of an apology toward him.

"But now, there can be no more excuses. We are not in a good position. A day's distance had always been the expected courtesy in the West, and I thought things would be the same here. I sure as hell did not expect someone to try and claim a lake as vast as the one we made a home on. That's my fault too. I should have been more guarded, taken us further. But now, this is our situation. There's no need to let hot heads make it worse when it's so very possible for us all to live and let live."

Her eyes scanned those assembled, before making one final statement.

"Going forward, you will act in equal measure to what is done, and nothing more. Words for words, blood only for blood. Any Keep wolf that does not abide by this will be driven out."

RE: reverberate - Neha - Oct 09, 2018

[dohtml]

A dip of her head towards Nineva sufficed for acknowledging her thanks. Judas could stand to wait until the meeting was over to have his wounds treated. Eyeing them, they looked gnarly but not life threatening. Their superior, Nineva was swift to get down to business by reciting the motto of the pack. Silent, Neha pinned her attention on the speaker. There were subjects to discuss, rules to lay out. This was no time to sit idly by.

It was no secret that the wolves of the Surge were furious with the presence of their new neighbors. Yet they had the gall to trespass on their land, like the selfish bunch they were. The Keep wolves had done their job, defended their turf and stood up for themselves. Neha heeded Nineva's instructions to steer clear of the lake pack at all costs, flicking her ears once. They were in a tight spot, wedged next to hostile neighbors. Mistakes were not an option.

While Judas did get into a scuffle with a female from another pack, there was still hope of salvaging that situation. A matter reserved for Nineva to handle, as she was the one in charge. Breathing a soft sigh, her eyes fluttered closed as she took in Nineva's speech. They all had to play their part in order to maintain as much peace as possible. Reopening her eyes, she hummed lowly to express her agreement.

Ramiel ARCHER
I don't believe in no devil,
'cause I done raised this hell

Silver eyes caught the expression that his brother gave him, Ramiel raised a brow wondering what that was about. There wasn't time to ask Judas since Nineva began the meeting.

The young archers full attention was turned on the queen as she spoke. He wasn't exactly sure what had happened for this meeting to be called. If course the surge wolves had something to do with it but things were still not yet clear to the Archer as he'd done his best to obey the rules that had been given him.

His gaze shot to his brothers form as Nineva spoke of an altercation. It wasn't the time to ask questions but Ramiel did look Judas over for any signs of injury. More was said in the subject it what had happened but it was the last part that was of the most importance and what Ramiel took to heart.

RE: reverberate - Judas - Oct 14, 2018

After his brother, two more men joined the group. Though this was not all the members of the ranks, it was enough for the greyscale Queen to begin. Judas Archer listened silently as she stated that allies of the Surge wolves were neutral terms to them, Surge wolves were to be left alone and not to cause any problems. That any action taken should only be matched by the attacker, blood only for blood.

Judas took in a deep breath and said nothing, a single ear turning back as silence remained him. It was true to think that should the Keep make problems where there needed not be any, both the Driftwood and Shallows could band together for an attack. Not something any of the wolves here could want. The land was plenty, the lake massive and lowlands ever more so. As long as Judas were free to roam in open territory is he pleased, as any other, hopefully no problem should arise...
