She'd of course known exactly what was going on when she arrived to the place Lachesis had called them from. In her short life she'd been involved in a couple of group hunts. First there was getting everyone together and then the waiting and receiving instructions. This time was different for her, she now had an injury that she had to live with for the rest of her life.

All she could do was hope that she wouldn't be sidelined because of it. She hoped that Lachesis would give her a chance and not make her stay back with the pups. As much as she liked them and wouldn't mind watching over them while the others hunted she wanted this chance to prove to Lachesis, the pack, herself that she could do this.

When Makvala arrived she saw the look the young girl gave her but Lachesis spoke before she could explain. It was probably better father tell the daughter. It saddened her a little as the thought that her dad hadn't ever done that with her. She shrugged to herself though, that was a long time ago and she'd moved on, made her own life. Now she waited for instructions from either Lachesis or Lilya since she was the one that was organizing the groups.

RE: we're surrounded and we're hounded - Emrys - Oct 31, 2018

It was moments like this that reminded him a lot of his days as a leader. He'd wished he'd done more pack hunts, maybe it was something that could have helped keep the pack together. There of course was no point dwelling on it now after over a year of being with the surge. Many things had changed and he found a sort of peace being where he was.

As the others started to arrive his gaze searched the surrounding area for any sign of Anastasia joining them. He rather enjoyed the time they'd hunted together, they'd made a good team. He turned back when Lachesis started to speak first to his children then explaining he'd found the deer they would be bringing down. He watched the interaction with a smile across his maw and waited to see if any of them knew.

Lilya was to sort out the groups so he kept and ear out for her and whatever instructions she might give him.

With what seemed like many years ago, crowds would have never begun to bother the snowy woman. In fact, she would have welcomed in and thrown herself into the spotlight, perhaps even assisted those that hung back from the limelight. This time, however, was feeling a little anxious as she crossed what seemed to be such a long distance from where Lachesis had called for them. Ana typically stayed quite close to the Surge's borders but as of late she was meandering here and there as though she might be able to protect them further by looking through the outer lands.

Luckily, she arrived on the tail-end of Lachesis expressing that he had already picked out a target and looked to his kids to see if they could make the proper assumption without his guidance. Anastasia took this fine moment to awkwardly - and guilty - move to stand beside Emrys. A friend in the pack that made her feel a little less late and a lot more at ease. Even in the silence she was able to feel the strength that came from seeing her packmate's faces.

RE: we're surrounded and we're hounded - Leith - Nov 03, 2018

Leith had heard his father’s call, he just hadn’t felt any compulsion to hurry to get there. He knew they wouldn’t be allowed to actually participate anyways. They were too young or whatever that meant. Either way it would just end with him watching the adults have all the fun while he sat back with Mouthy Mak and Lazy Leggy. So, he moved at his leisure. Stopped to sniff the flowers, enjoy the refreshingly cool breeze. Live life to the fullest and all that.

He arrived at the tail end of his father’s directions, hearing only the bit about his mother organizing the groups. “Ah’m on th’ take down, right? M’ good looks’ll stop th’ deer in its tracks,” he said with a grin, plopping down next to the Surge matriarch.

The boy was not bothered that they could not participate. In fact, he preferred watching from the sidelines. Legolas did not want to make a fool of himself in front of his packmates. More specifically his brother, who always seemed to catch the ivory boy at his worst. Leggy loved his brother dearly, but they were complete opposites. Outgoing versus reserved; loud versus meek. Leith (and Makvala) had scooped up all of their parents bravery and left little Legolas with all of the anxiety. Lucky him.

His ears twitched in his father’s direction as the pale Stark asked him, and his sister, a question about their chosen prey. Immediately he stiffened, his was falling back against his skull as he turned to the group in the distance. He struggled to remember the lessons he had had with both his father and Jynx, and what they looked for when singling out prey from the herd. Weakness. That was what he remembered the most. He squinted, a soft frown creasing his lips as he looked over the deer in the distance. They had to eliminate the weakest—by doing so it would help strengthen the herd and, eventually, improve their numbers until another fell ill or grew old. His father had assured them that they were helping the deer. That they were part of an important life cycle.

That was when he spotted it—the limp. Weakness. His tail twitched excitedly as he examined the chosen one. Legolas turned to his father and whispered very quietly with a small flick of his nose: Th-th-that one.
