....a role play sample (200+ words):
There was a simplicity to being the only pup in a litter. Indigo had little experience with having siblings, having none at all, but seeing the other pups of the pack bicker and fight for the attention of their parents seemed tiring.
She sat by her mother, Hazelnut, picking dirt from between her squishy paw pads and watching the other wolf children run past in a blur. She clung to her mother’s side tightly, as she had when she was first allowed to venture from the den. True, she had no siblings to fight for attention with, but that also meant her options for playtime were more limited. She did not get the warmth of sleeping in a pile with several other pups, all tired from play.
Indigo scooted a little closer to her mother, just enough that she could feel the fur of their haunches brush together. It brought her some small comfort, especially as her father did not seem to be one for giving praises like her mother. She knew, of course, not all wolves were close, but it still made her frown.
Did I do something wrong? The question frequented her mind, following the stilted and often confusing conversations he had with her.
and finally a bit about your character...
Indigo is a little shy, but she can open up like a flower, revealing a kind and protective friend once you get to know her. She loves her parents dearly, and tries her best to make their lives easier. She spends much of her time with the women in her family, whom she feels the most comfortable with. Her own mother she sees as more of a friend than an authority figure in her life.
Indi also yearns for her father’s praise and affection. She does everything to be the best cub she could be, and impress him. Whether she succeeds in this, she cannot tell.
She struggles to understand complex instructions but thrives with hands-on learning. She is eager to run alongside the pack in a hunt, even when she’s much too small to do so.
