@Elettra
Ta-da. ;)

[dohtml]

He had aptly avoided her upon his return after delivering a message to Secret Woodlands. It was not out of fear, nor distrust or dislike.. but of his desire for her. The season came upon them far more quickly than he could have imagined, given it felt like yesterday he had just joined their ranks. Yet within the short months of winter, he had become captivated by her, and in turn fuelled only more for his burning need for a family and life. Koda’s departure was hardly missed by the ivory male, if only because he had never even met the man.. but Shade’s rise to leadership was unacceptable, and the Arygris male knew he would seek to replace the man should Elettra wish him by her side. But not as a friend. He needed more.

It was with this decision that the male grasped the hare tightly in his jowls, his nose seeking out the woman who clouded his visions for far too long now. The blood from his catch hindered his tracking, but he soon found her, within the confines of a den he had not yet visited.

For silent moment’s he stood outside, the moon hanging lowly within the sky as it cast an eerie golden glow over the willow trees of their home. It dulled the ivory of his coat, bringing to surface the pale cinnamon that flecked his pelt. It was now or never to make his intentions clear, and the scent of the heat of the season swept over him, causing him to inhale sharply.

Clearing his throat now to announce his presence, the ivory wolf slunk forward, just entering the very front of the den, his muzzle just barely poking in far enough. Blinking to adjust his gaze to the sudden change of darkness, it took him a few minutes to catch view of her, and without hesitating, Phineas dropped the hare to his front paws, bending down to nudge it toward her. “Elettra,” he murmured warmly, his tail giving a contented sway. “I brought this for you.. you need to keep your stre—“. Cut off suiddenly, his nose tingled, the scent hitting him fully.

So fully that he instantly felt his heart blacken as realization dawned on him. The scent of mating. The scent of her. And the scent of one he had never expected. His muzzle jerked up sharply, his eyes seeking hers out, blinking in confusion at first and then narrowing.

He had never held any claim to her, but that did not stop the familiarity of the situation that now sprawled before him. The déjà vu of it all was completely unwelcome.

So excited. -twitch- I'm going to feel so sorry for her. I might cry. XD

[dohtml]
How strangely had Elettra been so oblivious to the man's affection for her, that it could easily be enough said that she knew little to nothing of love at all. This was not far from false, having only experienced love as a cruelty, mingled in lies and deceit and utter pain. Hardly anyone could blame the Archer woman. Not only was she quite obvious of her attractive nature (having grown up hearing stories that their lands former tradition told of 'lights' being pure and 'darks' being the reflection of their dark and ugly soul) but more so lacking in understanding of courtship, having failed and never attempting so after so long ago. Only recently had Phineas knew Koda was not her mate and only then had he decided to make a move to show his affection and so, horridly, late. His avoidance of her had not helped the matter, adding on to he fact that she too had been avoidance of her lands, merely spending her time scouting the boarders with as much distance as she could. Fear of her desires and loathing for the recent events had pulled her to the outskirts of her very own home until she had locked herself away in the storage den at the foothills of the mountains. Locked away but to her dismay, not alone. She had given in. Given away to the something that made her skin itch and her heart to flutter with panic. Simple as it was, Phineas had not shown interest, had not made a move and so, Elettra seized the moment elsewhere.
She is still huddled in the back of the small cave den, rested along the wall, now tired and utterly dirty. What she had done was so far unexpected it had left her in the sense of a daze, though in this she had found meaning and purpose to her act. Shade would never touch her and the knowledge that yet another spring had arrived without a mate had forced her hand in this act. She did not regret her act, though found herself still trying to make sense of it all, having stayed here long after it was all said and done.
When the clearing of Phinea's throat disrupts the silence, she shutters from her reverie, her head lifting as her gaze pulls to meet his form. His pale off-white hue is aglow with the highlights of cinnamon the moonlight catches and he pulls himself forward ever slowly to drop the kill in his jaws. He always seemed to have a rabbit for her, with every meeting they shared and though the last seemed so long ago she could remember it as the only peaceful moment she had held all winter long. She wished to go back, to roll in the snow with him, to bay at his heels and laugh. "Phineas..." His name curls off her tongue in a rumbled coo as she looks to him, her silver pale gaze burning into the fire of his own. There is longing their, desire. A desire which she feared and in realizing the intensity of her attention, swiftly turned away. "Your so good to me." She whispers these words, in a manner which could have been seen as a shyness, an unwillingness to show by the turning of her features. Yet here she was with such desire, covered in the scent of another man. Elettra did not know and it was far too late. She turns to him again at the cutting of his sentence, though his expression if nothing of which she expects. Perhaps the confusion, the wonder of why she had bred with a man whom had for so long been their Lowest - untrusted. There was a narrowing in his gaze, an obvious anger, which struck Elettra so that it pulled at her own confusion. "Whats...? And then it hit her. "I...." Her voice cracks. Never would she have thought to consider her affection had been secretly matched by his own, until realization struck her now. "I didn't know."

She met his gaze then – silver eyes that had looked to another man only hours ago with a passion he had envisioned she could release to him. Of course, these dreams were seemingly cast by a delusional man, and as the scent of Kiche roiled within the den, the ivory male’s stomach knotted at the stench of it. At what had happened here.

"Your so good to me." The words burned with an intensity unknown to him, and he felt the curl of his lip ever so slightly at the disgust of this. Yes, he had been good to her. Yet never before had she shown any endearing affection to him, nor any hint that interest lingered behind her gaze, even after his revelation of Koda’s position. Everything he had wanted, everything he had desired had been one-sided, and the dark woman had only proved such by laying with another, never once giving thought to turning her affections elsewhere.

She had just made it very obvious that he had never even been a thought in her mind, and he could not keep the small flinch at bay upon her final words. She had not known. No, she was not a mind reader, nor did he suspect such of her. And yet the queen of the Ridge had instead chosen to lay with the dog of the pack. That was whom she had chosen to father her offspring.

“It does not matter now,” he replied, his tone stiff and the kindness that had once warmed his voice to her now disappeared to a flat baritone. The stench of the air sickened him further, and without another thought or word, the male backed out of the entrance, his ivory form giving a light shake as if to rid himself of a dirty secret he had just discovered. The ache was all too familiar, and he cared not to even look back to see if she followed him.

Such a short thread! I didn't know if you wanted to start a new one of him leaving or what?

[dohtml]
The dedication and devotion he had once felt for her all but fell from his very being, seen in the expression which marred lips lips which slightly curled to her words. Her body stiffens, slowly rising from it's position in the pack of the cave and her jaws clicking in fair warning of his reaction. He was still her subordinate, even if he did not like the fact that she had chosen another man over him. After all, it was easy for Elettra to assume that his gestures towards her and all the kindness he had shown to her was simply because he liked her. She thought he was happy in this pack and due to it, was showing his absolute willingness to serve it and it's Leader. Not to mention, being her friend where there was little she could call friend higher then what was usually an ally. Any sexual drive, or love, he might have felt, was lost to her. Phineas made it clear now that with her decision it no longer mattered. A single step is taken after his direction, but she does not follow and silence takes to the air. It was known now that Phineas drive had not been for the pack, but for her.
