Shade’s heart raced, and the time was right they all knew it; it was the perfect place to call home, to raise a pack. With all the responsibilities that came with it they were home. His eyes scanned the surroundings, the bogs and the trees. Some places a lot drier than others. It was all so mysterious, they were all doing separate things, Karpos and Adsila with him as they found the perfect pack den. He raised his muzzle and yowled out a jubilant call. This had all started with LESE MAJESTY when he and his Rose had split off and conceived two beauties. It had been out of the pack laws, and here he was now, setting his own pack laws up and they were ready to begin their new life. All of them were, and he expected nothing less from the hard working men and women who had sworn to stay with them.

Of all people who were happy to help, he thought of Capella like a sister practically, she seemed so eager, and she always listened to him no matter the problem, and Anastasia who had said she would take care of his pups when they were just strangers. His tail rose, some feeling he had not had in a long while, the sense of jubilance, victory, it was because the man had, or would very soon, be alpha of Pitch Pine Trail, the idea had come to him so fast, the Pine trees around him, it was the ultimate name in his opinion. "My children, we are home." He whispered to them as he awaited the others to arrive. This was good, a secure and strong pack to raise his children in. It was almost a shock to him, instead of calling on others for judgement on who should be accepted, he was the one accepting wolves or declining them.

Karpos Slayer

until you know what's inside it

Karpos looked at his father weirdly as he howled, Karpos wasn’t one for details, and did not care to notice that he was calling for the others. His sister was near him, and he figured they should follow suit. He raised his muzzle up and let out a high pitched and weak howl of his own. He giggled when he finished, it was a ton of fun to do that. Then his father whispered the words that made all the difference to him, they were home. Home was where the heart was, and Karpos knew only one thing from that, no more traveling far and wide. It almost saddened him, he liked traveling, but he knew it was a lot safer if they called one place their home. He had no idea that as his father said that, he meant that they were forming a pack. A pack, one where him and his sister to be raised in safely until they could make their own choices.

He looked around for his ma, wondering where she had wandered off to that time, and his eyes lit up with a mischievous smile, perhaps he should go off on a little adventure to find her, but he knew that his da would question him if he tried, and his sister would try to follow. There was a small cave, or something that his da had called a den earlier before the howl, it was the one thing that Karp knew would be where he was staying, he knew that as much as to the definition of a den, home. This time though, it was a permanent den, one that would never change, and for that, Karpos was lucky. Living as a lone wolf did take a toll on pups, but with the safety net of many many wolves who supported him, he didn’t notice it as much.

RE: It Ends Tonight - Anastasia - Jun 27, 2013

[dohtml]

Anastasia had done all she could to make sure that the area that they had chosen was safe for closure. Shade has chosen well, though Lachesis had given him the idea, but it was certainly going to be considered a home. There didn’t seem to be any open threats hiding within the pines so Ana was comforted immensely. Karpos and Adsila would be safe here in the care of the wolves, as their father had taken many steps to secure their survival. Although she remained weathered and discomforted by the thought that a rift could appear at any time within her relationship with XIX, she stayed calm. There was no use to fear for things that were not, as she would do her best to leave things as they were.

Shade called the pack together, a signal that was not lost on the pale she-wolf and she made no detours as she victoriously made her way through the Trail. Time was good on Ana as she made it to their enclosure first, gaining an appropriate smile as she gazed up the two bright children and upon the wolf that she would (for all she knew) lead alongside him. To her, she understood that it likely wouldn’t be a permanent position as she was under the assumption that being a mate was not in the picture. She was simply there to nurture and live a life within a pack, happy and healthy just as the two young Slayer’s were. There would be happiness just in knowing that she was here.

Coming upon them and lessening the distance between, she leaned her head down to each child and bumped her nose with theirs. Once the two greeted her back with the same amount of affection she turned to Shade and rubbed her side against his to share their scent as pack mates.

RE: It Ends Tonight - Lachesis - Jun 28, 2013

[dohtml]

After a long trek through the notorious pine forest, the group of wolves had finally settled within the fen; the place that would now be their home. Home. The idea excited the yearling, as since forcefully leaving the Reserve he had yearned for some place to settle down (with Anastasia). Of course, he had reoccurring thoughts of returning back to his family, but now that he had this family the thoughts of leaving seldom appeared. Everything was slowly falling into place and XIX finally felt as though he belonged somewhere. The boy still worried that his blue-eyed companion was going to leave him when Reaper called upon them – before they had last parted ways, Lachesis had managed to get on good terms with the larger Arctic, although he still didn’t trust him. He could tell that had worried his friend when Reaper had snapped at the teenager, and Lach had said what was necessary to give the illusion that he going to join the organization as well. Being a part of Shade’s pack, and having Capella and Ana in the same place, was important to the pear-eyed boy – he could never abandon them. This was his family.
He broke away from his thoughts as Shade’s howl sounded through the Fen, calling upon his packmates to join him. Perplexed, the boy narrowed his brows softly as he nudged the sunflower-eyed girl beside him, as the two had been patrolling the new area together. He had been spending a lot of time with the pale female while Anastasia was busy tending to Shade’s offspring; he enjoyed being in her company, and hoped that she wouldn’t grow tired of him. A smile fell neatly across his lips as he nipped her ear playfully, tail wagging excitedly behind him. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px; color:#446819;"> “C’mon s-sunshine, we d-don’t wanna b-be late!” He chirped as he hopped away from her, curiosity filling his body as he wondered why Shade was calling the pack together. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px; color:#446819;"> “R-race you there!”
Ater they arrived at the meeting place, the boy hesitantly walked up to the espresso male, nosing his chin in a display of both affection and submission. Glancing down at the puppies, XIX pressed sloppy licks to their foreheads as a lop-sided grin appeared across his dark lips. Taking a seat next to Anastasia, he pressed his side against hers before he nuzzled against her neck in greeting. The thought of his closest friend leaving him in the future pained the yearling, but he tossed it to the back of his mind – there was no time to think about the future, the only thing that was important now were the wolves that would be gathering around the dark Alpha.

Their arrival in the Fen was signaling the end of their time as rogues; She could feel it. There was nothing standing in their way, no obstacles, and she knew Shade would be able to feel confident in this place. She herself had even scouted it out just to make sure. The cubs could grow up here, and feel safe within the pine scented forest. Capella even took comfort here amongst the fireflies that would pour across the sky against the moonlight. Yes, this was the perfect place to raise pups, to live, and to feel the acceptance she always wanted.

Shade's voice cut through the air, calling out to her pack mates. Her ears clung tightly to the location of his howl, though they didn't need to. Capella knew where they would be headed, and she was sure she knew why. It was finally time fore them to claim their territory; For them to become a real pack. It was a strange series of events that had led them to this point. Some things had happened just by pure luck or chance, and some had been much more conscious. Rosealia had made a decision to leave them behind, while Pella had happened upon Lach by sheer luck.

A voice cut through the air, calling out to her family members. Her ears pricked forward, and feeling a nudge, she turned to Lachesis. They would have to cut their patrol short, but there would be plenty of time to finish it later. A giggle erupted from her throat as XIX nipped her ear, and she returned his gesture by hitting his cheek with her nose. The pale girl loved that she could do such things with him. The pair could just forget the world around them and remember how to be pups. After all, they were exactly that. Without him, she was sure that she would have forgotten what it was like to play, It wasn't even until he showed up that she even felt the urge to joke or laugh. Everything before him was so serious, but now she had a chance to live out the childhood she had always needed.

A determined glint cascaded through her eyes and she took off in the direction of the call. She chased after her companion doing her best. Her heart raced as they moved into the den area, finding Shade and Ana already there. The cubs were also present but that was to be expected. Following Lachesis in suit she moved to Shade bopping his chin with her muzzle, while keeping her posture submissive. She then ran her cheek under his chin, stopping for a moment to whisper, "I'm so happy for you Shade, thank you.". Truly she was proud of him. Against all odds he had finally gotten what he wanted. Capella was also thankful toward her alpha, for without him she may have died. He was her savior, and she would be forever in his debt. She then moved to the pups nuzzling each of them with the top of her nose. The dark pair was the future of their little pack. A small prince and princess, awaiting the days when they would be able to take over the reigns. Lastly she moved to Anastasia, lowering her posture more so than she had done for Shade. She had already been accepted by him; shown him her respect, but she hadn't done so for the colorless female yet. Her ears dipped toward her skull, and her tail fell between her legs. The gesture was not out of fear, by any means, but out of respect for the wonderful female who had stepped up into the alpha position, and done what Capella herself could not. Anastasia was at the very core of this pack, acting as s glue, and holding together the broken pieces of what once was.

[This round, and then Shade will fade it out... Round due 7-3-2013]

Shade grinned, chuckling a little as Karpos howled to the sky with him for the packmates. He watched as all the future packmates arrived, his eyes steady, watching all of them as they arrived. Anastasia, Lachesis, Capella, Ace and there seemed to be a packmate missing from the area. It was Ill, Shade knew that he had gone out the farthest and that he was probably still on his way to them. They would have to start off without him for now though. Anastasia shared scents with him, marking them as packmates. "It has been quite a long time now, hasn’t it? It went from being Rosealia, Capella, Ace and myself trying to get a spot in a Red Fern Forest way far north of here, to us all being gathered here today. I call us out as wolves of Pitch Pine Trail. A few rank notices as so we know who is where. Anastasia and I will be the alphas, Capella and Ace the seconds. Ill will be under Ace and Lachesis under Ill." He said, raising his muzzle to the sky and howling, hoping the rest would join in.

Inside his heart, it leapt for joy and his howl reflected that, the pure joy of saying that his family was formed, all of them were family and there was no stopping it. He lowered his muzzle when they had finished, watching how his pups would react to it all, wondering if they understood that they were forming a pack or if they thought it was just a meeting. His eyes were calm as he looked upon the others, the pack, they were his subordinates now, Anastasia leading beside him, and they shared rank. He had put Lach under Ill because Ill was older, and Lach was a yearling still. He wondered how they would all react.

Karpos Slayer

until you know what's inside it

Karpos grinned as all the wolves that he knew arrived, he batted at Adsila a little bit, and then a long and boring speech from his da came next, talking about his actual ma and Pella, and Ace. Then he said something about ranks, and he heard the words alpha and Karpos was confused. They weren’t a pack were they? Then when Shade went and released a howl, Karpos felt obliged to raise his muzzle and howl with his high pitched voice. Before doing so, he went over and sat by Ana, who was by his da. He raised his muzzle and howled, although he had no idea what he was howling about. It probably would amuse his father. His tail wagged and a smile on his face.

He lowered his muzzle when his da did, and cut off the howl, he looked at his ma with confusion, he didn’t understand at all what was going on, and he would talk to his parents about it later, after everyone had disburse. He hoped it was soon, it was strange for him to be around so many wolves at first, though he had traveled with them all just to get down to the wet place. There was a den, woven with various plants, but Karpos knew a cool spot with these rocks that formed an awesome place to play. He would beg his ma to take him there later; Pella had actually pointed it out to him. He ran into the den, figuring it was all adult stuff for them now.

Ill sped through the remainder of the forest. He had been late, cursing himself every step of the way for lagging so far behind. Though each stride brought him a little closer, the male could hear the sounds and howls of his fellow pack mates. Raising his head slightly, a screeching howl was sent into the atmosphere. Ill had always been self conscious of his howl; damage to his esophagus somewhere in his childhood had led to a raspy voice, specially when he raised it, and a weird howl. His voice cracked, screeched again, then broke into a normal call before he stopped. Hopefully anyone would know it was him.

Breaking through the underbrush, into the little clearing the rest of them had gathered, Ill caught the last of what Shade was calling out. He would be under Lachesis, a wolf he had met before meeting up with Capella and Shade. Here he was thinking of being the lowest rung in the order, though it wasn't much, Ill felt a sense of pride. Hopefully Lachesis wouldn't take it the wrong way. Coming to a halt, the scrum he had heard before entering turned out to be quite the opposite. His eyes trailed to Shade, then Karpos, then Anastasia, finally to Capella until going back to Shade for his apology.

" I'm-m.. " it came out as a stutter at first, quickly he collected himself, " ..sir, I'm sorry I'm so late. I must of lost you back there. " A long sigh escaped his trap.

RE: It Ends Tonight - Anastasia - Jul 01, 2013

[dohtml]

Anastasia was exponentially excited to see Lachesis appear on the scene, no surprise that Capella came with him, but she certainly looked forward to seeing the pear-eyed boy every day. His presence alone comforted her, made her feel that in joining here she could never feel alone. It was important to her to protect these two children but she also felt that she might not have joined without Lachesis. Though there was the prospect of joining Reaper in the future, she also felt that Lachesis played a very large role in her life regardless of others. She could not let anything or anyone come between them… she would do what it took to keep him.

The boy came to show Shade the submission he deserved, gave kisses to the kids and rubbed himself along Ana’s side and nuzzled into her neck. Closing her eyes she licked at his muzzle and nose, burying herself in his scent and feeling that same comfort. He made her calm and allowed her nerves to settle—she could do no wrong with his presence. Next was Capella who also caused her to feel intact with everyone and everything, she offered Anastasia a sense of respect that she hadn’t not gotten since her arrival but she had not in the least expected it.

Through her eyes she envisioned that she was simply helping Shade out in caring for the children and acting as a placeholder, but by how she was looked upon by Capella she realized that this was much more than that. She had an even bigger duty now—a duty to a pack. Anastasia bowed her head very light in return, not truly knowing how to act as an Alpha but she would learn in time.

The rank that Lachesis was given somewhat pained her but she knew that given the right amount of time, he could certainly earn a higher rank if he desired. He was bright and willful, he could do anything he believed he could. Her cerulean eyes lowered themselves to see Karpos wiggling towards her, seating him next to her and looked at her with a raise muzzled and began his howl. It was high-pitched and likely obnoxious, but it was normal. He was a child and had not acquired the proper vocal chords yet. Anastasia lifted her howl with Shade and allowed her song to echo, allowing the pack to chime in with their voices and signal their coming together.

RE: It Ends Tonight - Lachesis - Jul 01, 2013

[dohtml]
XIX glanced around at the wolves surrounding him, a ghost of a smile lingering on his lips as he realized that these wolves were now his family. They were going to stick by him no matter what, and would always be there for him. Of course, it would take awhile for the boy to fully trust all the Trail wolves, but eventually he would trust all of them the same way he trusted Anastasia and Capella. He couldn't wait to see the family expand as more wolves joined them; he just hoped that all potential Trail wolves were as pleasant as the ones before him. It would take time to adjust to all the new faces as their numbers grew, but Lachesis was determined to prove to the chocolate Alpha that he was a worthy member of his pack.
As Shade begun to explain the ranks, XIX listened carefully to see where he had been placed within the pack. With curious eyes, the boy glanced over at his blue-eyed friend with a warm smile as the Alpha introduced her as the second Alpha. His Anastasia, an Alpha... He was proud of her, and knew that she would accomplish great things with that title. Hopefully it was enough to keep her within the pack even if Reaper called upon her to join him. As the muddy-eyed leader listed out the next set of ranks, the yearling began to grow confused. He had never been given a rank within his old pack, and from what he understood (from Ana's lessons) the lowest ranked wolf was the weakest and basically useless. He swallowed back a frown, his gaze falling down to his paws as he let his new rank settle in. To the sheltered yearling it didn't make sense — did Shade think that he wasn't worth a higher rank within the pack? And, from what the alabaster boy understood, Ill was barely older than he was... Perhaps he really was useless; although Anastasia had promised her lessons would aide him in preparing for pack life, he had not been prepared for this. Had all the lessons been a waste of time? Would he have been better off being on his own, or joining Reaper's organization?
The howl tore him away from his thoughts, eyes focusing on the blue-eyed girl sitting next to him as she joined him. Unsure of what to do, Lachesis joined for a moment, offering his voice before he lowered his maw once more, ears falling back against his skull. Now that Anastasia was an Alpha, alongside Shade, would this change things between the two of them? A peculiar feeling began to settle in his stomach, lips cut into a thin line as cruel thoughts filled his head once more.
