RE: Where hast thy dinner gone? - Danica - Jul 02, 2014

Danica smiled back at Titan, her tail thumping softly. She returned his gentle touch with a friendly lick on his ear. She was happy to be in his company, and it showed. His reassuring words comforted her. She trusted him well enough to belive his statement. "Thanks," Per usual she spoke softly.

Her ears perked with plain curiosity as Titan introduced Kassandar. She smiled sweetly at the stranger now, no longer feeling threat to her friendship. *Fascinating, a healer...but what's Russian?* She wondered with her head naturally cocking itself to the side ever so slightly.

Dani had been lost in thought as the fuss about Yuka went on. She couldn't help but fantasize what English and Russian might be. A sigh from her companion brought her back to Earth, "Huh? Oh." A sheepish smile spread across her features. Embarrassed she looked down at her paws and shuffled them.

Looking up and around at all the wolves she felt nervous. She glanced towards the prince besides her. Her facial expression clearly showed how uncomfortable she was. Feeling extremely shy she kept her eyes low till Yuka finnaly caught her Emerald eyes. He looked like the description she had been given. Plus from her position she only saw the side of his intact face. So she asked Titan in a whisper, "Is that your brother, Yuka?" Then she added even quiter, hopefully just so only he could hear, "He's handsome."

As her dark companion began to ask names she looked down. Her paws shifted nervously as she waited. Dani still didn't know what this gathering was for, but it seemed important. As soon as Titan's presence left her she was up. She flanked him, staying close, and on the side of him away from the others. She could probably be considered 'up his butt'.

When he took a place between Athena and their Queen her hackles rose a little. She wasn't feeling so safe anymore, but forced them down. Their alpha was right there, and her friend was right beside her. *You're fine.* She told herself and breathed. Still, she didn't look too happy.

RE: Where hast thy dinner gone? - Yuka - Jul 06, 2014

He watched in silence as more wolves trickled in, and he froze when his mother approached him with her own affectionate measures. When his brain caught up with what she was doing, and when she tried to reach for his horrid face, he wretched himself away from her, a quiet, warning growl meant only for her ears being released. He muttered harshly, snapping out the words, "I'm fine. I'm not as weak as you think I am." to her a glaring at her. The fact that he had killed someone(who in reality he actually hadn't ended up killing, on accident) was catching up with him, and he didn't know how to react. He wasn't even an adult yet and he had already killed someone, and of the same species! With a short snort and keeping to the shadows, his teal flecked golden eyes met Athena's as he moved closer to her, his body size already towering over her as he felt the right side of his face within the shadows. How his brother had managed to see his scarring was beyond him, but he was beyond furious that he had brought it to everyone's attention in the middle of the pack event.

Luckily no one else stalled for long and Narimé finally called for the pack hunt to be started. Yuka did not hesitate to stick close to Athena's side, thankful for her silent reassurance, as she bare her own scars on her face. Even so, she was much more beautiful with her scars, but with his distorted lip that bulged out from his mouth and torn face, it was hard to say that someone would look at his face and find it appealing. Even so, he forced his thoughts away from his face and to the current task in front of him. The scent was strong and he saw that his mother was slinging in the grass. Choosing a much more dark approach, the creamy russet pawed boy slipped into the shadows, moving with the pack gracefully as he waited the herd to come into view.

RE: Where hast thy dinner gone? - Kassander - Jul 06, 2014

[dohtml]

Everything that was going on around the Russian man was just a blur. He understood most of what Titan had said about him and he gave a small but shy smile as he spoke up for the yearling who had been teaching him. "Titan good teacher!" He said in an excited but hushed tone. He had figured out enough to know they were going to be hunting. He sat there as he awaited orders from their fearless leader(s) of the hunt and he was excited. It had been a while since he had taken anything other then rabbits to eat. He tried to avoid the larger prey, even if it was stored in the caches, because he felt he had not yet earned the food. Now was his chance to earn it though and he would not pass it up.

Kass let his mind briefly wander away from the task at hand as he examined the other wolves. The one who was sitting on the other side of Titan had seemed upset at first when she arrived... almost jealous or something and he was clueless to it all. The queen had not said anything to his greeting but he had spoken in Russian and the queen probably had no idea what he was talking about. Most wolves had no idea and it made Kass briefly wish that Sif or Raisa or some wolf other then him was there with him. Anyone from his family would work because they could both talk Russian back and forth without being confused by what was being said! It was slightly frustrating to him but he was learning English and starting to get the hang of it.

RE: Where hast thy dinner gone? - Titan - Jul 13, 2014

[dohtml]

Titan felt Danica's presence beside him as his overbearing mother began to fuss over his brother. Titan had thought she knew about it already. He didn't mean for his question to bring drama and attention to his brother. Titan knew that Yuka wasn't exactly the type of wolf who liked attention. Or at least he thought he had known his brother that well. However when his brother snapped back at Nari, Titan bit his lip and felt himself tense up. The Yuka he knew would have just sat quietly trying to ignore their mothers over protectiveness. Though the dark wolf didn't jump up angry at his brothers actions. It was about time somebody told their mother that they weren't pups to be coddled anymore. Titan just felt a little sad that she had to learn in such a way. Maybe I should have confronted her about that stupid hovering before this happened? He thought quietly watching Yuka move to shadow the white she wolf who had her own facial scars.

Titan let his ear twitch as Danica's voice funneled into his head. His answer was simple, not wanting to bring anymore attention to Yuka for his brothers sake. "Yes, he is Yuka Thorben." Titan looked to the grasses still attentive but not wasting any time staring rudely at other wolves. At least until Danica said that Yuka was handsome. Then the dark wolf became flustered and cast his blue eyes to his brother's form. "H..How so?" The dark wolf asked holding back the shock and...hurt? from his voice. Titan wasn't sure why her statement had him so uncomfortable all of the sudden.

Meanwhile, they were now moving with the adults between Athena and Narime, Titan once more felt the presence of Danica come up behind him to lope beside the dark boy. He heard the hushed words she uttered and turned to look at the she wolf. He didn't know why she was so uncomfortable looking now. As if she were being pinned by Ash's stare, and Ash wasn't here. He looked into her green orbs mesmerized by their color. However he looked for a moment too long and felt his paw slip on something. Stumbling suddenly Titan yanked his head back and recovered before face planting into the earth and grasses around them. Embarrassed by what he had done Titan allowed himself to slow a bit, though he stayed beside Danica for the most part. He still couldn't get what she had said about Yuka out of his head. He loved his brother, but for some reason her words made him feel, anger? or perhaps jealousy towards his silver coated kin.

Reminded of her earlier discomfort Titan finally felt brave enough to speak out. "You may think Yuka.. Is handsome, but I am the one who thinks you are...pretty." He stumbled over the ending words embarrassed once more then kept his attention squarely on the adults in front of them. Titan tried as hard as he could not to glance over to see what Danica's facial expression was.

Instead the dark lad focused on what his mother was doing. She had her head low to the ground and seemed to be concentrating hard on something. Titan mirrored her movements, lowering his head as they loped and sucking in the air through his quivering black nose. The scent hit him like a freight train. Three doe's and a buck, that much Titan could tell by the fresh scent that made his mouth water. They were on a fresh trail tracking the scent to its source.

RE: Where hast thy dinner gone? - Danica - Jul 14, 2014

Danica smiled a little, letting a quite laugh leave her mouth. Kassandar seemed very appreciative of Titan. Her smile soon faded as she fell into rhythm with the prince's pawsteps. At his voice her attention shifted. She looked at him listening as he answered her questions.

Dani watched him react and felt a little guilty. He didn't seem to like her complementing Yuka. Why? She had no clue. Then he asked an easy question, "Well...he's tall, strong looking, and I find his rust colored markings attractive. His eyes are nice too...but I love...your...um...blue ones." She whispered, shyly mumbling the end. Titan's eyes were so blue, and she felt like she could get lost in them for hours.

As their orbs met she offered a nervous sweet smile. His soothed her...made her feel....something. When he tripped her ears perked in concern. She looked about in a protective manner, her glare warning no one to laugh. Then, not wanting him to be too embarrassed, purposely tripped over her own paw. She stumbled a little bit as well...and didn't land on the ground. She hoped in some way this helped him. As she noticed him slowling she quickly matched Titan's easy pace.

Then Dani stopped dead still...like a stone statute. Her body was tense...and if she had been human, her cheeks would've been red. Bashful she looked down and meekly tried to catch up with him. She was pretty? He liked the way she looked? Her belly filled with butterflies as her heart fluttered a little. She didn't have the guts to tell him what she thought of his looks...or how she loved his touch. Nor was she able to look at him for the moment.

Now that she thought of it, she loved a lot about Titan. His dark fur, silver markings, personality, the way he treats her, and more. Danica found herself to be distracted by his words...and couldn't think straight. It even took her a moment to register the smell of prey.

They were hunting! She lifted her head looking about excitedly. What was she supposed to do? She had been in a hunt before...but it hadn't been the whole pack, and only with a few others. Plus that was a while back.

Calming herself she lowered her head and stalked through the grass. She wanted to be unnoticeable to the deer. She wasn't sure how to accomplish this...but she wasn't going to just prance around loudly and giddy. No, she knew better. She felt a desire to prove herself fill her. She just had to do a great job. There was not another option...not at all.

RE: Where hast thy dinner gone? - Adair - Jul 15, 2014

Sorry, Adair is not used to being around yearlings, don't mind him though!

[dohtml]

His head dipped in respect to the regal woman, before his lips twisted into a smile on his lips, overly thankful of her acceptance of him and the warm greetings she gave--never once did she make him feel unwanted. Her kindness fueled him and the fatigue that clouded his features on his arrival dissipated when she addressed him, replaced instead by an eagerness to please her and prove to herself and everyone around him that he was worthy of his position in the pack. So into his own thoughts he barely noticed the approach of one of her son's, Titan who was followed soon after by Yuka, the white faced youth who bore scars far beyond his years, immediately he wondered what the male had gotten into the receive such abuse but his lips remained closed. This was a family issue, and he had no business dipping into their personal problems.

Silence engulfed him as he waited out the remainder of the wolves, and when another showed up bearing a coat as white as snow he felt his heart lurch in his chest with an excitement that fell the instant he stared into her eyes--they were not the beautiful amber of his sisters. She was not as beautiful as his sister, in fact she was smaller and more rugged, her cold eyes stared him down with a gaze that was as cold as ice daggers and he averted his eyes to his paws in an attempt not to pull rank and upset this stranger unknowingly. It was almost a guarantee that they would meet once more, opposites often did, but he wondered how that encounter would play out, and what feelings she bore against him without even knowing him; distractions came in the form of Danica and Kassander. He watched the group mingle in silence, and shifted his weight on his paws from discomfort of the situation and the position that he was in and without making a sound he lifted to his legs to stretch, yawning wide as his bones creaked a second time.

Once all wolves were in attendance his eyes came back to Narime, anticipating her next move and anxious to get his feet moving as standing still was beginning to hurt his bones and when she did he was soon to follow, taking his place as his rank allowed. Around him the yearlings discussed topics that did not interest him therefore he ignored them, snorting every so often when they sloppily flirted with each other. It was awkward, and unneeded but he excused them because of their age and the fact that there was little else to converse about as they tracked their prey, and he searched frantically for anything that could distract him from this strange group of hunters. Excitement flooded him when he found a scent, fresh of deer and his head jerked upward, gaze turning toward Narime as he spoke, "We are close..." he finally spoke, his ears pulling back on his square head as his voice intercepted the higher pitch tones of his counterparts, it was uncomfortable, "I smell a few, we'll probably have a good run on this hunt." and he fell silent finally, wondering what Narime would like them to do. He merely wanted his instructions.

RE: Where hast thy dinner gone? - Narimé - Jul 30, 2014

I would like group one to post first since they are being told to go and start, at least one wolf from the group anyway. Then I'll post my two, and lastly Adair and Yuka. This is what I would like, but the thread is still with no posting order.
[dohtml]

They were excruciatingly close now. The pack was one the heels of their prey, the elk, who had moved farther west out into the open fields. The silver woman had more than enough time to think up a strategy as they traveled. Her thoughts had included plans just in case this type of situation presented itself to the cavern wolves.

Her moist black nose pinned the age of the scent trail down to a few minutes of age. Raising her tail in a "stop" gesture, Nari slowed herself then stood as tall as she could trying to look over the tall grasses and the cresting hill. In the silence of the field the snorts and stamping hooves of deer could be made out from just over the slight knoll. Keeping an eye out for stray deer and watching the wind to make sure their scent wouldn't blow in the herds direction, Nari turned slightly to look over the group.

Letting out a "shush" to the rambling yearlings the gray hunter quickly rolled her gaze over the group making sure everyone was there.

"Yuka, Titan, and Danica. I need you three to do everything your superiors tell you and nothing more. You are not to go off on your own to try anything with the herd. You understand me?" Narime gave them all a warning stare and let her eyes travel over their forms to note their body structure. "The herd is just around that knoll ahead of us. So be quiet okay guys?" She wanted to make sure she would be sending each yearling with a group that they would work best with. Though she also didn't want the herd to bolt before the hunt even started.

" @Athena, @Kassander, and @Danica. You three are going to be in the first group." Nari paused letting the information sink in. "Athena and Kassander, I want you two to split the herd up and single out the older doe. Injure her if you can, and keep the doe from heading towards the forest where it will be harder to chase it. Danica you are to help if either Athena or Kassander ask for it. Other than that you run with them, learn while watching your superiors work, and stay away from the doe's hooves. " Nari gave gave them their orders keeping her voice low so the deer wouldn't hear, then turned to look over the other members of the pack.

"The next group is made of Titan and myself. We will keep the doe running to tire her out and worry the injuries given by our first speed group of wolves." Nari looked to Titan and nodded hoping that he wouldn't get to excited on this hunt. Then she looked over to the last pair of wolves.

" @Adair and @Yuka you are our strength. When I call for you Adair it will be your turn to try and pull down the doe, trip her, injure her as badly as you can. I should be ready to help you once the doe is slowed as will the rest of the pack be catching up. Yuka you are only to help out if Adair calls for it just like with Danica and Titan. Do not attack on your own." Nari couldn't stress those words enough. She didn't want the yearlings hurt on their first hunt. It was bad enough Yuka was doing this hunt with freshly healed scars.

"Once we've all caught up the doe should be brought down." Nari glanced to the whole pack nodding encouragement to them. Not counting the yearlings in their numbers, the pack still had more than enough to take a doe on their own. Which was a good thing for they should have enough members to correct any mistakes the yearlings might make.

"Ready? Set...Go!"

RE: Where hast thy dinner gone? - Kassander - Aug 17, 2014

Slight PP of Athena since she's gone inactive.
[dohtml]

He listened carefully to his instructions as Narime dished them out. He and Danica and Athena were to split up the herd while aiming for the older one. They were to keep the doe from the forest and were to attempt to injure it. He nodded in understanding as he turned, motioning for Danica to follow behind him as he watched the herd. He listened carefully to what the rest of the pack would do as he watched the target move and graze among the grass. He gave a glance to Athena before hearing Nari's call. It was time to go go go. He rushed off towards the prey as they noticed him. His speed would play to his advantage as he pushed his way between the doe and the rest of the herd.

He glanced over to see the white woman aiding him in the attempt. He rushed the doe, cutting her off from the forest as she ran along side him, trying to get away. She was slowly gaining ground on him as he fell back to nip at her back legs, trying to get a hold on one while being extra cautious to keep one of the hooves from thwaping him in the fact. He hoped the others would be ready for the take down or else his attempts would be overly futile. He took a deep breathe as he pushed himself to move faster so he might find himself level with the doe's middle. He narrowed his eyes as he attempted to bite at her side to keep her in line.

RE: Where hast thy dinner gone? - Narimé - Aug 27, 2014

PPing Titan a bit :P

[dohtml]

They had started the chase.

Nari watched concerned for Danica and the two adults, but alert and ready for her part in the chase at the same time. Her blue gaze centered on the three wolves as they pushed the herd and pulling out the main target, a doe, from the rest of the group. Swishing her tail in a wide arc, the gray hunter silently ordered her son to follow; then the she wolf took off towards their prey. It was her job to tire out the doe and worsen injuries given by the first group of wolves. Though ideally Nari and Titan would switch out and take turns chasing the doe ragged; since it was the young Thorben's first big hunt Nari would make sure to keep most of the action for herself.

The pair of wolves sped out over the dry grassy landscape. Their legs thrummed underneath them as Nari led Titan closer to the doe. Then she took over from Kassander, Athena, and Danica in pursuing the deer and tiring it out.

The silver wolf had always been well built when it came to stamina. Her long legs allowed her to eat up the ground with lengthy strides while her lean tall body gave her the lightness and endurance needed for a long chase. Titan's body was becoming more well built, but while in his tall lean yearling physique Nari would be sure to make use of his temporary stamina for this hunt.

They chased the doe for a long time, and after the first few nips to its hindquarters by Nari's teeth, Titan lengthened his stride to relieve Nari for a short, but fun chase. The pair of wolves took turns tiring out the deer until Titan got too close as the doe bucked and Nari freaked out. She threw out a snarl to the dark wolf not to get any closer before making sure that the deer wasn't heading towards the safety of the forest.

" Adair, @Yuka now!" A few sharp howl-like barks from the silver she wolf's jaws called in the remaining wolves for help as she began to tire while running beside the injured and fatigued doe. All there was to do now was wait for the big bulky wolves to slow the doe down so the others could catch up and finish her.

RE: Where hast thy dinner gone? - Titan - Aug 27, 2014

This is a bad post but I just needed to get it in.
[dohtml]

With energy still pumping through his limbs Titan found that it was very hard to stand still. He had to keep telling himself to sit down while the older wolves planned what was to happen during the hunt. He didn't exactly understand why he, Danica, and Yuka had to be split a part; but happy to have the chance of proving himself to the others, Titan tried listening intently to his mothers voice.

Boring....

All she kept bringing up to his attention was to not do stupid things and that kind of bugged the dark lad. He didn't have to be told repeatedly about something like that. All it did was make him not want to pay attention.

Eventually when his name was spoken once more, Titan brought his concentration back together and listened onward. He heard what he was supposed to do and that yet again he was stuck being paired with his mother. However that unhappiness was whisked away as the first group set off after the doe. He was happy that Nari was even allowing him to run with her during the hunt. Titan had honestly thought that she would be too concerned for His and Yuka's well being to even let them let them take part in the hunt. The image of Titan and Yuka sitting grouchily on the sidelines flopped around in his head as Titan growled in angst. He wanted to get up and go... NOW!

Watching the adults work together and separate the doe from the herd with antsy paws, Titan almost didn't catch the signal from Narime to follow. However her tail almost brushed his nose alerting the dark boy to the fact that they were heading out.

Finally! he let out an intimidating growl before bounding off after his surprisingly fast mother. Eventually he caught up to Nari while watching her dart around the doe keeping it running blindly where she wanted it to run. However as he lazily ran only fast enough to keep a close eye on the action, Titan could see that Narime was tiring. Wanting to be more than an extra paw the dark Thorben lengthened his stride and began copying her movements. Darting close but not close enough to touch the deer, Titan snarled at it and barked noisily to frighten the animal and keep it moving.

With a pounding heart, Titan thought he had been doing well since he wasn't getting reprimanded. However that cockiness got to him as he moved a little too close. A "WHOOSH!" over his black crown was followed by the frantic barking of Nari commanding him to get away from the doe. Grudgingly he obeyed, but Titan's eyes were glued to the doe as Nari took over once again. Unbeknownst to him was the fact that the "whooshing" sound had been the deer's leg coming very close to clubbing his head. Pure luck had made the deer miss the energetic boy.

Soon while he followed along watching closely, Titan heard the barks come from his mothers lips. She does look like she needs help again. He thought while noticing that not only his mother was slowing down, but the deer was losing speed quickly as well.

( Yuka you can PP Adair as he's not active in this hunt anymore) :)
