Kisla Baranski

The proposal was given little thought, but Kisla gave an understanding nod at the girl when she declined. It was better to have honesty, rather than a wolf who came, used their resources, and left like so many others in the past had. She didn't understand the reasoning necessarily, but the words were enough to flag the suspicious she-wolf and she made no further comment on it.

She didn't believe in demons, but she certainly believed in evil and that it lived in wolves around them. She had her fair share of watching her family become the victim of more than one unnecessary evil within the Lore. "Good luck on your ventures, then," she offered, a gentle smile flitting across her features before she gave a quick shake of her pelt. With her invitation declined, she felt no need to remain, though her bright green eyes studied the girl quietly, wondering if she had any further questions. Otherwise, she would be on her way. Her intent to seek out a distraction had only partially succeeded, but the guilt at being away from her home and mate began to gnaw at her, and she knew she would need to return to his side soon, and ensure his health had not dwindled during her quick trip -- such was her life now.

The girl was thankful that Kisla did not pry – others before her had pushed her and they had not cared for the answer when they received it. She merely accepted it to be the fact that it was, and wished her luck along her way, Lilya dipping her head respectfully once more. “And you your own, wherever they might take you.” She offered back with a sincere smile before she turned to be on her way, towards the south, fully intent to find something to eat, or perhaps she might find a place to rest. It was one of the brighter sides of being a loner.

She had once craved something like this, behind tied down to nothing… but it was a lonely life. Her demons weren’t figments of her imagination or ghosts… they were actual creatures, creatures because she wasn’t quite sure she’d call monsters such as those wolves… and those creatures were out to kill her, finish what they’d started. Well, at least, that’s what she thought of them to still be doing. It wasn’t in their nature to give up until every last one of their enemies was dead. There was the chance they’d considered her dead already, or that her family had somehow received a miracle and survived the war in such uneven odds… but that was just more guilt that tore at her stomach.

She took a deep breath, letting her mind go blank as she continued her journey away from the woman. It was a new life, and she had to realize that sooner or later.
