Kobe Moonshade
For @Kerberos @Maera

Kobe rolled over onto his other side. He was sprawled out in the snow with his limbs outstretched. The frozen water tickled his nose and he huffed before covering his face with a paw. It’d been awhile since he’d just relaxed. It was nice to unwind and not think of anything. He hadn’t known what it felt like to just exist. No hassle, no hunger or tiredness as the cold sapped at the strength in his bones, for once he was content. It felt pleasant to just lay there.

He closed his eyes for a moment and breathed. He could feel his heartbeat, it pounded away at a slow, rhythmic pace. It thumped away faster than he breathed although not with the urgency he had expected. His chest rose and fell and rose again. He sat up after a moment.

“Ah, this is boring,” he said to himself and got to his feet. “I wonder if there’s anything to eat.” He had just eaten but meals were hard to come by. It wouldn’t hurt to try to gorge himself. He lowered his nose to the snow and stepped forward then picked up his pace in search of food. After awhile of trudging along in the woods, he stopped and turned, about ready to call off his escapade when a tree decided to dump its load of snow.

Kerberos Rigel
He was tired and aggravated. That seemed to be his mood as of late. If he didn't have food in his mouth or was right next to Mae he was on edge. The tawny male had to wonder if it was the cold was the culprit of his mood change. He wasn't entirely upset about it, though. His increased aggression had done him good in some situations. Especially that crude lone wolf who had wanted to start something with his Maera. It also seemed with his increased aggression had come with some increased protectiveness.

There was a voice out here. The sound of it had interrupted his thinking. While Kerberos would have usually been thrilled to meet another wolf, he clearly wasn't in the mood. Without a sound, he crept forward before the sound of a tree unloading snow alerted his intention. With a loud scoff, he addressed himself in a rather rude manner. "No point standing there with all that snow unless you plan on freezing to death."

He stood off to the side in the trees. His stance was neutral but Kerberos knew with his mood that could change. It was a mystery why he even bothered with other wolves when in his current state of mind.

Kobe Moonshade
Kobe whipped around at the voice.

“Its colder than it looks,” he said, shaking the snow off his fur. He appraised the tawny stranger warily. He seemed familiar somehow… Although Kobe couldn’t quite place his face, he had a nagging feeling that this wasn’t the first time they’d met.
“Who are you?” The feeling left him agitated for a long moment, not because of the wolf but because of his gut. His intuition warned him against this wolf. There was something very wrong in encountering him, especially alone. Not that he had anyone to call to back him up. He’d made more enemies in the passing weeks than he’d ever had friends.

“Wait,” his eyes widened as it hit him. “You’re that bastard.”

It was that wolf. That male with the dark female that’d he’d run into not too long ago. He’d passed off the encounter as mildly insignificant. It paled in comparison to the pack wolf he’d pissed off a few days prior. Still that didn’t stop him from assuming a dominant stance, tail straight up and waving like a banner. His ears were forward, squared and chest puffed out. He gave the male a imperious look, daring him to challenge.

Kobe knew, or at least guessed that if he’d ever ran into this man again that it would likely result in the clashing of teeth and torn flesh. As it was he owed him a lesson for daring to gang up on him last time. The black wolf remembered few things when it came to other wolves which was one of the reasons he was so fond of names but one thing he never forgot was a vendetta. It wasn’t most logical reaction, if it was at all but for once he was more than willing to cast that aside for some good ole revenge. He’d wanted to put the tawny bastard in the ground.
