Arnaq
Arnaq felt much better this morning as she headed out along the small river, maybe it was more of a large stream tho. She wasn't quite sure, but she figured she could follow it towards the sunset she watched last night. It was a beautiful sunset the rays across the sky made the clouds look like a beautiful show just for her. With a full belly and a better attitude this morning she felt refreshed and hopeful as ever. Her run in with another wolf for the first time didn't go bad at all. He seemed lost in thought a bit and on edge somewhat, but that was to be expected when you met someone for the first time right? Always on guard just in case.

Today she would follow the river and look for tracks, she needed to work on her hunting skills and seeing as she now how some strength maybe she could recall on the teachings her father did teach her. The sun was just coming up behind her greeting her with a new day and tho there was still a chill in the air and snow on the ground, it was perfect weather for her. Her coat seemed to stop shedding since that cold front came in wiping away the beginnings of spring but that was okay with her. She had fond memories in the snow as a pup. Not that she was much older, she only just had her first birthday. She should be more independent at least be able to pull her own weight when it came to herself. So practice makes perfect.

Lost in thought she sombered along a slow but steady pace following the river. She saw her fair share of game along the way, but she couldn't catch birds, never learned that one and she certainly wasn't going after the giant moose of a beast feeding in the water. It stomped it's hooves at her and she trotted off rather quickly away from that. It could totally kill her. At one point she left the river and headed a bit north, wanting to follow a very well game trail she saw. It looked rather used on a regular basis to her and that was always a plus. Sauntering along, her ears began to swivel around looking for sounds of prey, scurrying of mice or the crunching sound of hares chewing, maybe even a larger rodent of some sort. She didn't have a preference she just wanted to kill something on her own for once.

Moving along the game trail, she suddenly game to slope, a steppe but smooth like hole seemed to be carved out right in front of her, as she stood at the edge she glanced down, rocks seemed to litter the bottom of the slope and across the bottom of this area. Down below, she saw them, rodents, mice, hare and even some marmots down there scurrying about their days. Those would be good prey for her to practice with. She could use some of those rocks and boulders down there for cover. With her mind set, she began the slow process of moving down the slope, watching her every step and picking a target out among the prey down below. She had to be careful not to give herself away, she only hoped that she would finally make a kill.
