Lilya Valrorys
Near the borders to Wild Rye Fields for @Jessie

The woman had seen events in her life take quite the interesting turn, and she wasn’t entirely sure how she was supposed to feel about that. She’d seen the pack she was in shrink to nearly half its size with a princess leaving after news that a traitor had been kicked off pack lands, taking a child with her into an uncertain future. She’d seen the monarch step down, even if it was temporarily, and push Lilya herself up to fill the role… a role she took, even if she wasn’t entirely sure that she was capable of fulfilling the duties that came with it. She had to try, right?

Either way, it was a lot to process so she’d taken a short-ish journey to clear her head, intent on heading back and returning to the lands she’d called home for quite a while now… a little over six months now, or maybe more? She’d honestly lost count of the cycles of the moon so she wasn’t entirely sure. She was sure that anyone else would have been elated to step up and help Kisla, but Lilya felt more anxious than anything, because she didn’t know how to lead. She knew how to fight, and she knew how to hunt and scout… but it was like leadership was a whole new level of terrifying for her.

She’d see, she supposed, and only time could tell what fate had in store for all of them, right? God, she hoped so.

It was then and only then she noted herself trailing particularly close to a border she didn't recognize, taking steps back out of respect for the fact that the land had been claimed, though curiosity caused her to linger. It wasn't the Monadnock; she would have remembered the scent from the meeting with Wraith and Craw... a new pack? One she had yet to discover? How interesting...

Wow, I'm so awful and sorry. @Lilya

The woman was happy for the first time in a long time. Though she was wary of their neighbors, they had not given her any reason to doubt a peace agreement and hoped that everything remained so for quite some time. The Tainn did not want a war on her paws, she had faced enough unhappiness in her lifetime. Jessie did daily border runs in order to quell her unease, knowing that while it would not go away completely, it was better than letting it fester and manifesting into something that she could not control. That never turned out well and she did not want Drestig thinking that she was losing her mind. Not after everything was finally going right for them.

The breeze had been in her favor and a familiar scent passed her senses, mixed with something else. Curious, the mother quickened her pace, wanting to know who was so close to her lands. As she neared, Jessie immediately recognized the woman that she had helped so many months ago, though maybe a few pounds heavier. Eyebrows rose in surprise and pace slowed as she grew closer. Her voice was rough when she spoke, "Lilya? What are you doing here?" When she finally took a moment to breathe in the scent of the woman again, Jessie realized what was so familiar about the other woman. Hearthwood River. I wonder how Kisla is doing? She would not say anything, however, not wanting to plow into the conversation. Perhaps she had been sent by the other woman on a scouting trip. If so, Jessie would gladly engage in this conversation.

It did not take long for a wolf to notice her presence, it seemed, but that was alright. Lilya had intended for that to happen, though she hadn’t specifically called for anyone. She was peering around, scouting around to see what she could learn; hopeful that she might bump into a wolf she could speak with to learn more. She could report back to Lachesis with what she found and hopefully it would help the pack in some manner… she just wasn’t expecting the wolf that did find her. The sparrow saw the familiar form approaching an a wide aloof grin scattered across her maw. “Ah thought Ah recognized tha’ scent.” She commented with a wag of her tail, feeling strangely at ease.

“Ah was doin’ some scoutin’ and came across yer borders.” She wasn’t going to lie – she wasn’t actively seeking them out, at least, not this time around. In the future? Maybe. “Ah hope ya ‘ave been well?” She asked with a grin – evidently she was doing pretty well, a pack just like Lilya had gained. She’d almost taken Jessie up on her offer, but something about Lachesis and Kisla had drawn her to them and she still didn’t know what.

Jessie Tainn

A pleasant smile grew on Jessie's face. Lilya was a kind and honest woman, qualities that the pepper-and-salt colored woman valued in a friend. She is scouting. It was a relief to know that Lilya had happened upon her borders by chance. Jessie wanted her home to be a safe place and if there were a fewer amount of packs that knew about their location, there was a higher chance of their safety rate. The other woman's question was light and kind. Jessie's response came quick, "I'm doing well. It's been nice being able to settle down, y'know. I had a daughter, her name is Phoneix." Light, emerald eyes surveyed the other woman. A sly smile formed on her lips, her words light, "I see you're also not doing too shabby. How are you enjoying your time in Hearthwood River?"

The pack was no foreign relation to Jessie, she had known of them ever since she was in the Bend, especially since Kisla remained at its core. She was glad that Lilya was here now, not just because the Tainn woman wanted to get information on her sister in-law, but it was also good to see her friend. It seemed like so long ago that she had seen the mixed woman. Jessie's tail wagged easily behind her, showing Lilya that there were no hard feelings on the decision that she had chosen. Besides, part of her family had benefitted in the longrun anyway.
