Jessie Tainn

How long had she suspected that something might have been going on? She didn’t even remember, but any time one mentioned the other, her suspicion rooted even deeper into her mind, sprouting into a tiny, cute little seedling. And now, what was wrong with her? There was nothing wrong with the two males displays. In fact, she had witnessed something quite similar – though perhaps not to this extent – between Ice and Marsh. Jessie had no right for them to deny one another, in fact, they were doing her a favor.

Judging by Askan’s screech of shock and Reyes’ wince shortly thereafter, she didn’t need them to tell her that they had no idea that she was there. Of course, Askan felt the need to tell her that anyone. The Rye Queen also did not need to be told that Askan was very much okay, at least physically. Of all things that had to have happened, it had to be this. Jessie was a private woman; she did not need to know the personal lives of her subordinates unless they felt it was absolutely necessary for her to know. What can I even say now? Reyes gave her much the opportunity to say something. She could definitely answer that.

The pepper-and-salt colored woman licked her lips, her voice clear, “I heard Askan yell out. I came over to make sure he was okay.” Which he clearly is. Jessie wasn’t exactly sure what they had been doing to warrant such a reaction from her Second but now her emerald eyes drifted between the two. Her reaction had been less than graceful and the Queen certainly felt as if she had to make up for it, especially since her dark Guardian still refused to meet her gaze. So with a wide green, the woman spoke again, “It is really good to see the two of you.” She wondered if they would catch the double-meaning.

Askan Selwyn

The Selwyn-despite his better judgement- blanched like he'd just tasted something sour.

What was he supposed to do? Deny it? It was a little too late for that and honestly, it seemed as though if he did he'd just be digging himself a deeper grave. It was clear, even to Askan, that Reyes wasn't happy. His voice was deep and thunderous. So yeah...He was pissed and knowing how things were it was either Jessie's or Askan's fault. Maybe even both.

The fact that she was happy to see them together made this already weird situation all the more strange. Like..okay? The hell was that supposed to mean? Askan was no scholar for sure, but he wasn't an idiot. He had good head on his shoulders and could pick up on subtitles more often than not. Perhaps it was because he was caught unaware, like squirrel stuck on a thin branch, but he was stumped. Really damn confused as to what the hell was going on, and what had they done with the real Jessie?

"Uh....Okay." He blinked slowly, wondering-hoping- if this was just one of those weird dreams he had from time to time. That he'd wake up and be smushed against his mate's side."Well uh....Yeah. So this is a thing. And uh...It'd be great if you didn't...you know...?"

Run her mouth? Yell at the top of her lungs on The Lookout that he and Reyes were an item, of sorts? Ah he didn't know. He just wasn't ready to deal with whatever repercussions that might come from this. That's all. Feelings were hard enough as they were and the last thing Askan wanted was to have to worry about what others thought of them. Not that he cared but...Well maybe he did care. Maybe he cared too much.

Reyes

“…uh huh.”

Whatever.

Was Askan making noises?  The gamma thought back for a moment, trying to figure between kisses and play wrestling, that maybe somewhere in there, there could have been a yelp or a particularly loud woof.  If there was, Reyes hadn’t noticed – but then again, he had no reason to notice, either.  There more important things on his mind.  He had no reason to doubt Jessie, nor her care for his mate; even if the younger wolf seemed to have a strained relationship with the female alpha from time to time, Askan had been one of the founding members of the pack, or at least joined shortly after the wolves settled in the rye fields, so of course she’d care.

Frankly, he wasn’t sure why everyone was being so weird.  It wasn’t like they’d been trying to copulate or anything.  Dios mio, it was like he and Askan were caught with red paws, trying to sacrifice children to the spotted cat goddess of rainbows and fertility.

The scarred wolf gave a withering sigh, looking from his mate, and back to the alpha female.  Askan didn’t want their relationship…what?  Known?  Broadcasted?  Because Reyes was embarrassing.  Right.  Whatever.

“Uh.  Whatever he says, I guess.”
