For @Risaela <3 - Dated 8/4

He. Was. Bored! All the adults seemed to be so terribly busy with all sorts of unimportant, adult things, and not interested in playing with him. Dad was off somewhere, doing more of these things, too far away for pups to come. Everything interesting was too far away for the pups. For a while Gale had been sulking about this abandonment, but that was terribly boring too, and he’d soon grown tired of it as well. Then he’d gone looking for his siblings, hoping to entertain himself with a quick brawl, but he hadn’t been able to find them, and quickly quit the search; That wasn’t fun either.

Now he lay by the pond, staring at the reflection of the cloudy sky in the still water. There was little life in the water today, and even when he pushed rocks in to stir it, the slow ripples were all he achieved. He briefly considered jumping in himself, but gave up on the thought, not interested in soaking his fur with the chilly breeze flowing steadily. The cold was a new thing, but terribly uninteresting, just like everything else. But there had to be something to entertain him around here, somewhere.

Risaela ???
@griffin thank you for getting this up <3

Risaela had not yet met any of the children of the Fields, but she knew they were there. There was more than one, both male and female, and their scents were all over the place. Everywhere she went. They smelled a lot like Jessie, but she supposed that all of the Rye wolves would probably have a similar scent. But there was still that one specific scent of puppy that could not be ignored, and after two full days of nothing but resting and eating, Risaela was ready to try and see if she could find one.

She didn't want to play, or anything, but she was nowhere near fit enough to travel all the way back to Hearthwood River and she guessed it would be a while before she was. So, she wanted to meet a few of the Rye wolves before she left. Making friends wasn't particularly at the forefront of her mind anymore, but there was nothing wrong with it, was there?

The girl hadn't been expecting to find a pup as easily as she did. In all honesty, she just wanted a drink, and followed her nose to the water. But once she arrived and glanced around the place, it became apparent that she was no longer alone. Silver eyes landed on an agouti ball of fur - smaller and younger than herself - crouched by the water's edge. The child approached the Rye cub, her tail wagging sluggishly behind her, her posture unsure but trying to be friendly.

"'lo," she croaked, her voice sounding every bit like a suffocating frog.

Perhaps he should make wishes at the pond more often. At least today, it seemed to come true, as entertainment came to him, all on its own, in the form of another pup. It was that girl, the one his mom had been looking after for the past couple of days. If he hadn’t already been accustomed to sharing the mother with two other siblings, Gale might have been jealous that she spend the nights alone with this stranger. He wasn’t really the jealous type though, and more curious than anything else about this other pup, an older pup, even. But the children had gotten strict orders to leave the visitor alone, and even Griffin thought twice before defying Jessie.

She’s right there, though..! Had come all on her own too, even spoken to him! Surely the dam couldn’t have a problem with him answering her, right? In fact it was polite to do so. So the smaller lad lifted his head, flicking an ear at the girl and replying lowly: “Hey.” Curious blue eyes swept all along her frame, now that he finally had a chance to see her up close. She was older, and so bigger than him, with a mixed coat of brighter, tawny hairs and silvery grey. It was odd, looking at another pup who wasn’t his sibling. Though they were related, even if he couldn’t remember the details exactly.

Honestly, he wasn’t sure what to say to her. If it had been Kas or Silva, he wouldn’t have hessitated to jump her, more than willing to spoil their plans in exchange for curing his own boredom. But this was different, for one she was a good deal bigger than him, and she was a guest. He dared not even think what his mom would do if she found out. So he had to restrain himself, but he couldn’t keep the questions off his lips, for that, he was more curious than he was tactful; “Why you look so sad?”
