Miccah Athesila

The dark king didn't think things could get worse, but dammit, they did! Between running after his youngest, to trying to divide his time equally between his other children, to still try and be alert at the borders to providing food for his family Miccah was running on fumes. He couldn't remember the last time he had gotten a good night's sleep. He couldn't remember a time where he wasn't worrying for @Aideen. Whether she was safe, whether she was even coming home, whether she was even alive. The anger had faded, the frustration had faded. All he had were his running thoughts and the aching hole in his chest.

He had made a mistake. He couldn't be everywhere at once. Flair and Enia couldn't be with them all the time. Yet, the only blame was upon himself. He was his father and Bero was gone. Miccah could feel himself slipping. Never had he had this much stress upon his shoulders, this much emotional upheaval. All he wanted to do was go out and search for his son, but he couldn't. He had a pack he was responsible for, the rest of his family to take care of. There was nobody he could send. He had no scouts, no one who knew the lands enough to go out and search for his son without getting lost themselves.

Miccah was dead on his paws, not knowing where they led him. Yet, when he arrived at the special clearing where Nina and the rest of their family laid to rest...Miccah could only sit hard on his haunches at Nina's grave site. What he would do to just hear one piece of advice from her maw again. Suck it up. She would probably say that to him. A tired chuckle rumbled from his chest. He had been sucking it up for weeks now. And where had that led him? Bone tired, his son missing, his wife failing to come home, and his pack crumbling before his very eyes. This was not the legacy he wished to leave to his children. This was not the legacy he had wanted to build to honor Nina's memory. But he had no answers, and his resolve was breaking. Never had the king felt so weak...and fighting to keep his head above water.
