Blackmoore Northcrest
For @Sharan, set instantly after the pack disbandment thread obviously.

Perhaps it was not to be. Them and the pack so to speak. The male knew that he and Sharan were "falling behind" but it wasn't anything that could be remedied quickly in his opinion. After all, he was focusing on providing care to her she needed - as a friend of course - so she wouldn't be left behind. They were strangers in here. Who knew what could happen? From where Blackmoore came from, the northern packs in relation to his birthplace, were quite heavy on survival of the fittest. As a pup he'd heard stories and rumors how the disabled and elderly often felt honor-bound to stop being a burden for their kin over there. Sometimes it meant sudden disappearances in middle of the blizzard. Sometimes a more grandeur spectacle would take place, with family and friends sending them off onto their final journey. It was never explicitly said in the stories told by his nun, what was exactly going on in cases like this. But as for today, the male strongly believed that all those grumbles, vague verses and alike - hinted on a rather bloody, albeit willing, ending. Even if it was so, even if it was honorable to give up your life as a weakest in the chain in times of the great need - Blackmoore would still shiver coldly at the thought.

That shiver however would drive him through the past weeks since they joined this place. The male knew it wasn't enough that he was proving only a small game to the shared store. And that it was happening every few days apart. He could see disappointment in the eyes of those few who even wanted to met his gaze then. But at the same time, nobody really extended a paw and offered to help him nurse Sharan back to health. Nobody seemed interested to get to know either him or her during that time either. It was the peak of the winter now however, he could understand that. They were, so far, more of a burden here for all those people. In his mind, they were to prove themselves first to not be one for them right? So the male hunted every other day for whatever game he'd could find to at least keep his friends health stable if not steadily improving. In once future-guard's mind, things would really change once springtide would loom over the metaphorical horizon. By that time his friend would surely recover, and show up her skills she had spoke so many times about. And Blackmoore himself would find himself in easier position, being able to participate more.

It however was not to be, as it would seem. The male was on the other side of the territory by the time he'd heard the calls of sadness, marking the end of an era for the place they've joined. It had filled him with regret, as it looked that they'll lack the time to pay back in kindness for all of the small things they were offered during they stay. It did not have shaken him to the core however, as they were telltale signs all over the place in recent weeks. Something else have caught the male off guard however, as the dark figure of his was traversing one of the snowy slopes surrounding the pack. A pinch of hesitance have grew inside him, as the male was mulling through the final calls of a dying pack. Blackmoore found himself troubled even more as his paws have led him down the mountain towards the grounds on which he'd had left his friend behind. It had took him a while before it had finally struck him that Blackmoore found himself actually caring for somebody. After all, the dark brute have spent a lot of time with Sharan in the past weeks.

His thoughts have been interrupted however, as a familiar howl have invaded his ears. It was her, and she wasn't far away either. Just ahead, over the bend so to speak. She was leaving, just like everyone else was going to. Before Blackmoore have even realized, a short howl have escaped his maw as his paws have rushed forward to catch up to his friend.

Hopefully she'll at least wait for him, even if it they were going to say each other goodbye.
