Character name Ryder and Hazelnut
How long your character has been in Relic Lore born here
Post prompt response Amidst the towering and majestic Kingsfall forests is almost anything needed for survival. The forest is rich in resources, so it is not a great surprise when you come across the scent of a pack's borders marking out a piece of this land for themselves. It seems the group has taken refuge near a stream, and though trees and foliage obscure the immediate view, is that a waterfall you hear in the distance? Intrigued, or perhaps in need, you call. And before long you are greeted by a tawny woman who is polite, but wary of your presence, she asks for the reason of your call, how do you win her over?

All at once, that shine was gone, just like he'd predicted (caused?). After, the anxiety had set in. He'd even considered slipping away altogether. Yet here they were, home instead. Ryder glanced briefly at his companion, the one he couldn't bring himself to talk at length with anymore, before stepping forward and calling for @Jethro and @Finley both.

When his mother arrived, he couldn't help but jog forward and embrace her. Everything else aside, it was so good to see her.

"Mom..." he would step back and nod toward her, "this is Hazey."

The nickname rolled off his tongue effortlessly, but this time it burned. He hoped dearly that he was pulling off the poker face he wanted.

Things were different after. She should have known that they would be, but even if she had, Hazelnut could not have anticipated that it would be like this. Their interactions now held an air of awkwardness, a growing discomfort that Hazey couldn't help but feel responsible for. The woman did what she could to give them both space, tried not to fill the stagnant air with anxious babbling, and hoped that maybe now that they had reached the Falls everything would be less weird.

Hazey stayed behind as a familiar woman—Ryder's mom, apparently—answered the call. He introduced them, prompting Hazelnut to offer the woman a polite nod and a quick, "It's nice to meet you again." Before respectfully bowing her head and lowering her small frame.

The voice at the borders was a familiar one, and the excitement caused her paws to cover the ground quickly. By the time she got to Ryder who was also jogging towards her they practically collided. Embracing him warmly she answered, ”I’m so happy you’re home! And that you’ve brought a friend with you” one that she had met before.ACCEPTED
