Amekaze Oyama
my other aw thread is still all alone, but i'm making another one anyway~ someone come play with meee! :D
It had been way too easy to misplace the hours deep in the heart of the woods she had encountered, wiling away the minutes zigging and zagging through their depths. Amekaze felt as if she should have mapped most of the forest by now and yet, every time she roamed anew, she'd find something different. That and she knew a mountain loomed nearby with more forest even further to the south and in her prowls she had hoped to learn more about it. Although it had yet to happen, so she had busied herself in the forests and their fringes.

But she could tolerate no more of it. She needed some fresh air and space, dammit, and thankfully she knew just where to go. The black wolf streaked through the shadowed woods, weaving through the trunks and heading towards the east.

Finally, the shadows gave way with a great sigh of relief. Fields and tall grasses spread around her, along with a full view of the sky -- and immediately her sights were drawn to the storm clouds hanging low and heavy on the horizon. Ame was pleased to see it, feeling it had been too long since she'd seen a good thunderstorm. The humidity of the overcast days just didn't cut it for her -- she wanted a good soaking shower and perhaps she'd get it soon.

Extending her gait further and stretching out to a full gallop, she relished in the freedom of the long grasses whipping by below. Eventually she met her fill of kicking up her heels and slowed, panting, and finding she was a bit hungry. Licking her lips, the spry Oyama scented the winds and scanned over the grasses eagerly. So far her hunting as a lone wolf had come rather easily, but she did not yet know the best places to hunt here in this region, so still had a lot to learn. Would those lessons come sooner rather than later?

A rumble of thunder sounded in the distance. She switched an ear and carried on with a relaxed walk and her nose now lowered to the ground at her paws.
